Misconception: Itachi > Jiraiya

Ive just uploaded one of the translations. I already knew what your points were just after reading the sub titles. If i was to go into detail and give my all id take too long. Currently im too lazy for long debates.

Maybe a final jiraya vs itachi thread might be on the cards, if i was to shake off my current state

Yeah right, Jiraiya would be able to take on and defeat two (or more) Akatsuki squads, with Itachi in one of them. As hell Im going to believe that.

This is a great thread with some good points.

My issue though is that Itachi & Jiraiya were so different in their styles that it's hard to say what they would do if they fought. No one can confidently say who would win.

People who say this are being silly though:

Itachi=Nagato, Nagato>Jiraiya hence Itachi>Jiraiya.....WRONG guys.

Narutoverse doesn't work that way. It's about having the right guy fighting the right guy.

Kankuro sealed Deidara and Sasori, that doesn't mean he's stronger than Gaara or Chiyo & Sakura. It just means he was suited to fighting them. You can't assume that because the 6 Pains beat Jiraiya and Itachi one-shotted Nagato, that Itachi is stronger than Jiraiya, doesn't work that way.

Good post ABc logc does not work in the naruto universe.

Btw siyo i challenge you to upload me a manga chapter (ive great reasons for saying this) where itachi said if he fought jiraiya he would draw. I feel its about time to burst this myth, once and for all.

Considering that's the viz translation it's most likely correct unlike the one you provided. Anyway the op makes some good points, but Itachi's abilities just seem too overpowered for Jiraiya to beat. I don't believe Jiraiya would live long enough to get into sm, but if he does then it could go either way imo.

We saw what happened when both faced jiraiya, they werent exactly nerves. Also if we were to solely go by the words of itachi then we should belief everything he says. Yes this includes what he says before we eventually find out the truth.

The exact translations are the viz ones, but it doesn't mean the other ones are horribly bad. Are some of them? Yes, but not all of them.

3. No way of breaking through susanno
4. Not very fast without sage mode
5. No defense aganist genjutsu spam.
