Misconception: Itachi > Jiraiya

Itachi took him down with Amaterasu, but he survived because he was immortal. Not that I think Itachi is equal to him anyway, since it was directly stated that Pain was the most powerful Akatsuki member.
HONESTLY i read the first 7 pages and i cant be fked lols but itachi is stronggggggggggggg BUT J'man is stronger trust me or atleast equal...When J"Man found out that akatsuki was after naruto he told kakshi (which is Hokage level) now but before maybe he wasent, anyways he told him that akatsuki is after naruto and now that hes gonna take care of naruto because kakashi is not strong enough 2, J"man knew that they travel in pairs and still wasent scared so i dont see itachi/kisame killing him

I agree with most of what you say, but you cant use Konan as an example, because not only did he know her when she was young but he is the one that started teaching Konan Yahiko and Nagoto the way of a shinobi. And she had pleanty of time to grow but when she was training with Jiraiya her jutsu revolved around paper so knew her weakness. And you have got to remember that he may have been able to defeat Pein but wat about Nagato? and Nagato is weakened and so is itachi so how can you even compare Jiraiya to the likes of Nagato and Itachi.
Well, I appreciate you agree with most of it :- ).The thing is, we don't always see the master defeating his former student e.g by your logic Kakashi should be able to humiliate Sasuke because he taught him from the beginning which we both know is false. So even though it definitly counts as an advantage (goes both ways though), it doesn't always determine the outcome of the battle or how the fight devolopes; hence why it's impressive, the way he dealt with her.. regardless of their past.
I will also like to point out that Nagato/pain is stronger than both Jiraiya and Itachi, which makes the praise he gave out that much more powerful/meaningful.He was the strongest living character, at that point, yet he openly admitted that jiraiya would have won had he known the "secret".Such statement was never made about Itachi and it took three kage level fighters to take down Nagato (notice how Nagato/kabuto refrains from attacking Itachi, besides CT of course).

Finally, There is no such thing as a healthy Itachi. Itachi is written sick, so anything other than that is fan made.Just like Jiraiya isn't proud of his genjutsu prowess and Nagato became crippled, etc...

Well said. And also just to clear something up: Jiraiya>Itachi... Come on just stops praising Itachi so much. Even Itachi+Kisame were afraid of him. The reason Why Jiraiya lost so easy to Nagato is that he didnt knew jack about his abilities nor about how many "pains" there were. He went vs 3 of them and took 3 down I dare to say not very hard( obviously he went full power). He was than taken by surprise and lost his arm.So he found himself alone vs 6 puppets with shared vision and unknown abilities.

This is really thought out and very good in wordage... I personally would be in a tie between these 2 anyways just from sheer power, knowledge, ability, and jutsu arsonal anyways... But. Great job!

Too lazy to read. Itachi > jiraiya. Enough said you are just a fanboy. It would be a high difficulty fight that probably would last as long as Sasuke and Itachi's fight did. But alas Itachi > Jiraiya. Ameratsu, Susano, highest genjutsu in the series, most likely faster then Jiraiya, and with mid chakra levels enough for a long enough fight to take out Jiraiya.
It is so stupid to just rely on certain aspects like when he spoke to Kisame that he would be equal to Jiraiya. We all know he is the modest character, who ones to downplay his skills and remain rather anonymous and not stir up anything. Relying on simply what a few characters say is stupid because Kishi said himself that many characters say things for many different reasons.
Fanboy thread... sorry but it is. Jiraiya would put up a hell of a fight and it would be very high difficulty, but Itachi still wins... sorry.
