Sometimes man generously spoke of something. Don't take it seriously. Do u think Jiriya could beat BEE, whereas Kisame almost got him if A didn't interfere. Please consider the situation when Kisame n Itachi meat Jiriya.. It was very early in the manga. Definitely Kishi couldn't risk his manga's future by showing off too many powers, which was also seen in Hiruzen VS oro's fight. It was a very lame fight considering the skills of both Hiruzen n Oro. If u compared that fight with present day fight, it was nothing. So, don't take Kisame or Itachi's word as a source to measure Jirya's ability.
If Itachi was determined, he could take captive Naruto by then. But Itachi's true intention was to make a appearance in Konoha for Sasuke's safety (which was told by Tobi). Whether u believe it or not, Itachi was never intended to engage in serious battle with Konoha's people. If so, he could have killed Kakashi.
No doubt Jirya is a versatile n eminent ninja. But, I assume still he is below Itachi.
Konan was once Jirya's apprentice and Jirya's knew about Konan's ability. So, he could find weakness in Konan's ninjutse very quickly.

jiraiya.... too many summons to all be controlled , overwhelming ninjutsu and also in sage mode too fast for amaterasu etc. has the upper hand in chakra natures lol
but itachis intel makes even
nagato is leagues ahead , im using fact get over it

this kinda of sounds like for example Minato, Madara, Sasuke (i hate him, but still, he beats Jiraya) and Naruto would lose against Jiraya

by advantage in Chakra natures, interesting, Itachi, Water, Fire; Jiraya, Earth, Fire; Itachi just keeps spamming Fire and there is no advantage or disadvantage but Water against Earth, which i doubt that Itachi is stupid enough to use Water against Earth

Btw siyo i challenge you to upload me a manga chapter (ive great reasons for saying this) where itachi said if he fought jiraiya he would draw. I feel its about time to burst this myth, once and for all.

all i have to say is.. people judge based on what they've seen, not on what was written to hype characters

Actualy, its Nagato > Itachi > Jiraiya. I dont see Jiraiya standing a chance against Itachi. Itachi was above sannin level.
Only one would be enough. itachi taking control over Ma or Pa = decapitated Jiraiya.
Thats not true. SM speed is inderior to that of A, Jiraiya wouldnt be fast enough to escape Sharingan eyesight. Amaterasu is deadly for him.

My issue though is that Itachi & Jiraiya were so different in their styles that it's hard to say what they would do if they fought. No one can confidently say who would win.
People who say this are being silly though:
Itachi=Nagato, Nagato>Jiraiya hence Itachi>Jiraiya.....WRONG guys.
Narutoverse doesn't work that way. It's about having the right guy fighting the right guy.
Kankuro sealed Deidara and Sasori, that doesn't mean he's stronger than Gaara or Chiyo & Sakura. It just means he was suited to fighting them. You can't assume that because the 6 Pains beat Jiraiya and Itachi one-shotted Nagato, that Itachi is stronger than Jiraiya, doesn't work that way.

read everything thread maker put please , those are my thoughts iv been holding since i saw sage mode and MS techniques
people say nagato vs itachi is a close fight yet pain is only a fraction of what hes capable of , and naruto is rendered stronger than sasuke at the time , while naruto didnt even beet pain by himself , so nagato is leagues ahead maybe 10 arrows? because hes been matched up with edo madara ...... jiraiya is a equal to itachi , and itachi feared jiraiya before he mastered MS but he didnt know about sage mode either , i conclude that you are incorrect

Author based his opinion on Databook stats, which I dont consider in threads like this. Fact is, Itachi can easily take control over any Jiraiyas summon, which itself make this fight almost impossible to win for Jiraiya, becuase he is greatly realying on his summons, nor Jiraiya, evem in SM, is fast enough to escape Sharingan eyesight. His speed is comparable to that of A with lvl1 Rairon armor, which Sasuke was able to keep up with.

true dat , base A vs SM jiraiya is similar , jiraiya is still fast enough in SM to keep itachi on his toes
I know who they are but that doesnt chance the fact that Databook stats are way too inaccurate to be taken into consideration by me in threads like this. Examples: Oro and Sasuke having the same stamina rate, when Oro in manga has proven to have much greater stamina than Sasuke, or Hidans 5/5 in Ninjutsu.
Of course I do, why not. Jiraiya in Sm was really fast, not nearly as fast as A with his Raiton armor lvl2, but still very fast.
