Minato wins. He has a toad contract, logically he can summon everyone in the toad family, that spells defeat for Itachi. Regardeless Minato's ST jutsus are very good counters to Itachi which in the end will be forced to use Susanoo and all Minato has to do is wait.

Minato's more likely to win considering that he can teleport to Itachi's blindspot (preventing genjutsu). He could possibly use sealing jutsu to suppress the susano (not confirmed but likely), or he could repeatedly attack 1 spot with ransengan and wear it down. Itachi fanboys will probably rage at me though. :devil:

When we get to like 10 posts of people saying minato wins the Itachi fanboy alarm will go off BEWARE. Lol. But for real for reasons listed previously minato beats Itachi. He's the freaking 4th hokage its not to difficult for him to avoid genjutsu.

Itachi, Minato's summonings can be controlled continually by sharingan and put into situations in which he can kill them easily. Itach is already most likely aware of his ability maybe not version two, but Minato has 0 knowledge whatso ever about Itachi. Itachi, who is also versed in the art of fuinjutsu knows that you can place a seal on someone via touch, meaning he'll stay clear from any taijutsu battles with Minato, who he would know is an expert at fuinjutsu.... The deciding factor of this match without a doubt would be genjutsu, Not even going to argue whether Minato would make eye contact.. that will just turn into a never ending debate..... I will argue that Itachi doesn't need Tsukyomi to end this fight, and he can finish it off with his dusk crow ability.. which doesn't require handseals or eyecontact.. something like that will easily put Minato into a comatose state leaving his body susceptible for attack even if for a few seconds... it's an op and broken ability that people fail to take note of, and Minato has literally no counters to it considering he doesn't know of its existence.


As for the brawl between the characters.. once again Itachi would definitely have a general idea of the workings of FTG, as he had known intricate details of the hokages personal life, and has shown that he was quite the studious young lad.. Keeping a safe distance from the ground Kunai and utilizing his skill in shruikenjutsu to keep any ftg 2 kunai away from him as per norm would be the obvious method of defence .... With minato's speed and ability, it's obvious that the majority of itachi's seen ninjutsu and taijutsu would be the totally wrong approach.. He would just be wasting chakra shooting katons and water jutus, something Minato can easily dodge... and we all know Itachi isn't that stupid... The only option he has then on would be genjutsu, an attack you can't dodge...

Summonings on a whole are a bad idea, they are big and or slow and are all definitely incapable dodging an ability like amaterasu.. something which once again, Minato has no knowledge of, nor knows Itachi holds such a technique...

Minato would win. Amaterasu would not work because Minato uses FTG and teleports away. Also, again with the FTG, he can easily avoid totsuka blade. And Yata Mirror? Minato could put a seal on Itachi and teleport to him while he's in susanoo and use an unexpected attack. Also note that Minato tanked a full power Kyuubi Biju-Dama. Also, Minato mastered the rasengan so if Minato lands a hit with his Rasengan or Flying Raijin Lvl 2 it would probably hurt. Also, compared to Itachi, Minato has SUPER DUPER Stamina that Itachi just can't compete with. However, you did not specify is Itachi is Edo Tensei or not. But IMO, Minato would beat Itachi Mid Diff.

Good Point, however Amaterasu is a FIRE RELEASE Jutsu. So if he were to get attacked by it, he could just go into the water. Also you should point out that it takes time to kill someone with amaterasu. So it really just comes down to if there is water in the battlefield.

Amaterasu cannot be put out ,stated in the manga and databooks.. we even saw it burn on top of water in the taka vs bee fight

What in gods name are you talking about? I specifically said Itachi may not know of ftg v2 . but without a doubt he knows of v1... considering he knew almost everything about minato's life and his wife Kushina.. he gave naruto a lesson on his father..


Jiraya did not know about amaterasu what in the world are you talking about? he literally stood there staring at the fire and said , "WHAT ARE THESE BLACK FLAMES?" ...Lets not forget jiraya is much older, and travelled the world collecting info and spying..yet still had no idea what they were

How in the world would Minato know about amaterasu, much less that Itachi has it? if he ever knew Itachi it was when he was 6 years old and a kid in the village...7 years before he got mangekyou..

And yet you don't see part one or Wind Arc Naruto summoning them in Versus matches.

Minato never showed the propensity to do so, so it's an example of fans clinging to OOC strategies/abilities.

Not that I blame them, because Minato's shown very little versatility (in terms of multiple jutsu) in his fights so far.

Jiraiya didn't know about Amaterasu and Black Zetsu is made of Madara's will and is part of Akatskui, so that's not surprising.

He escaped itachi's vision, and only because he got an idea of how the technique works the first time.. Itachi showed him it and tested it on the katon first to give him a heads up... Minato doesn't have that

"FTG v2" is a mistranslation. Obito knew of Hiraishin, and there's only one version.
