I hope that my barca wins, and no offense, but I dont think there is a team like barcelona right now, man untd is a top class team, but barcelona is better. I Expect for barcelona to win 2-0. I Like man untd a lot because im a huge supporter of chicharito hernandez, as im mexican, but still, im a barca fan for quite a while now. Better yet I hope barca wins 3 1 with chicharito scoring that goal

Barcelona is too much piece for united or any team. Their collaboration work is just amazing, it looks like all the players can read each others thoughts,

Haha, I was going comment that video replays was the solution. But I think we think alike in this case. Their are too many cheats and errors with the actual refereeing process according to me also. I even, for the temporary expulsions of players rather than the Actual Yellow/Red Card system like done with Handball/Rugby. This will certainly make some harsh players such as those mentioned to step down a bit from their roughness in play. With I'd say,

- 1 Yellow card - 15 mins out of the field
- 2 Yellow cards - 25 mins (then the player is blank again)
- 1 Direct Red Card - 30 mins.
All-in-all, that's should have been talked in another thread but this is really interesting.

Back on topic,
Manchester, indeed, played excellent with its main team against Chelsea and with its secondary team against Shalke. Still, Manchester is still the underdog here. The league matches are almost useless now for both Barca and ManU. You've the one point needed and ManU also need one point (which they'll obviously get Saturday). All-in-all, there will not be any field observation or major injury now.

I know how difficult it will be to stop Messi but it can be done as long as the team remains one as the match against Arsenal (the 1st leg) where the Gunners did well and were unfortunate due to that referee which broke their tactical methods. The first goal will be extremely crucial in this match - perhaps the match-decider.
I hate PK's as my heart beats fast on every time, I see penalties shoot-outs. God knows how I prayed hard for a miracle in 2008 when Terry was going to shoot his penalty against Van Der Sar. When he slipped, I wonder how fast my heart beats were. Still, on PKs, I still have no much worries as it's for sure that Van Der Sar will give it his all as his final match.

P.S - Speaking of final match, (attention to ManU fans mostly), on 24th May, Gary Neville will play a friendly testimonial match against Juventus. Manchester United's team will compose of all 92's class of players supposedly [with the Neville bros, Scholes, Giggs (will play part of it only due to Barca match), Nicky Butt, David Beckham (still need to confirm) and other glorious stars surely...]
Exactly, without a replay check these calls will never be pinpoint and people will keep arguing about it and make it into a huge scene but this is football I guess.

Also latest news Sergio B. has been charged by UEFA as it's been stated that he said a racist comment to a Real Madrid player in their Clasico's (Some say it was their LB Mercelo) the term was, "Monkey". I honestly do not like Sergio B. and think he's a weak link in Barcelona and the only reason he's their is because his father was a GK in the past with them and is in charge of GK training or something like that. I hope once they signed Fabergas he takes his places which will strengthen their team a lot.

Messi is stoppable but lets not forget that Villa and Pedro combined also have about 60 goals for Barca this yr and are good strikers, so one man can't stop Messi and if more get involved it will leave space open in defense or at least for a good shot on target for Barcelona (Any striker). If Pep uses that in his advantage they can stand a good chance once Messi gets the ball about 3 players will surround him if he holds it for a long time which may leave some Barcelona players room to get a shot. Man U have great defense but the questions asked will it be enough to stop Barcelona amazing offense and can the captilize or chances they get.

This is football but everything can be changed, so football also...

I see. I like his skills but never appreciated him as a player. For me, he's an important link in Barca's play as he covers the zone that Alves leaves during offense and covers the back of Xavi and Iniesta continuously. Fabregas is too offensive for that role. Perhaps, Mascherano should take this position but I hate him also. In fact, apart Xavi and Pique, there's hardly any player in Barca which I really appreciate.

Messi will be zone-marked by Carrick and either wing backs - Evra or Fabio (depending on the position that Messi will play along the match). On surplus, he'll be hassled by either Park/Valencia/Nani from time to time. Rooney and Giggs will be charged to Xavi and Iniesta probably and The defense of ManU will just remain compact, waiting for incoming crosses for Villa. I agree, that there will be spaces for barca's play but during a counter-attack for ManU, it will most likely be 5-on-5 with Hernandez/Rooney/Valencia/Giggs/Park against the Barcelona's defense. I think Manchester United's defense made up of Vidic/Van Der Sar/ Ferdinand can sustain Pedro and Villa as they are very powerful in duels both on ground and aerial. I doubt a replica of 2008 though. This one will be much more tight. Manchester can sustain the offense of Barca but will they be capable, is the question? As for the capitalizing question, they are really efficient this season. In the Marseille match, they got only 4 chances inside the danger zone and 2 were goals. It's pretty impressive when Manchester United counter.

So we're Day D-14 xd

So now, it's real fun as both teams have won their respective League titles and can finally prepare full-on this big match; vying for a double win

Congratz to all Manchester United fans. Yay! We won the 19th League Title - knocking off Liverpool from their f**kin' perch :D History was made after a hard-fought season with valiant teams.

A look and thanks to this seasons's major protagonists of this most important league title win.

Yes, Sergio B. has played some key roles for Barce but not at the best level. If Febragas joins I can see him taking Alves place attacking from the right (will take a while to get use to but can happen) while also holding midfield down and Alves switching between defense or midfield instead attacking, which would strengthen their defense a lot more as well as midfield along with forwards. This would be good because Alves has has so many chances to shoot but doesn't either passes and messes it up or when he shoot he blows it at times.

Messi will not only be guarded by one guy as Sir Alex knows he can put a hat over any one of his players eventually how long can one person keep him down (This is were Barce needs I think Villa/Pedro or even Ineista to take a big role). It's possible but eventually a lot of room will be open but these are just predictions and thoughts when the time comes will see what Barce did good and what they did bad and the same with Man U.

Man U has great counter attack no doubt but I'm really wishing that Pep has has defense lined up like Alves, Puyol, Pique and Abidal. When these guys played defense together it was amazing no team stood a chance but we barely got to see them all together but I heard Abidal may start in final and Pep won't sit Pique or Puyol out. (I'm pretty sure they played together in Real VS Barcelona first Clasico of season 5-0 Barcelona win)

Well now it's all about the waiting game 13 days left.

Also next year Liverpool will hit hard if they continue playing like they have since Jan this season. They have had amazing results against the top teams including victories and draws.

Well, you know your team better. So any incoming transfer for Barca is better for you to judge.
Also, I agree that we really predicted lot of things. Now it's time to see what will occur in those 13 days. I think that these defense indeed played together during the 5-0 but no worries cause we've also got back our Fabio/Rafael-Ferdinand-Vidic-Evra-Van Der Sar.

To speak the truth, I'm never afraid of Liverpool since I never saw them win the League in my life. I was born in 1993 and the last league victory (18th) was in 1992. So I'm a bit like a bad luck curse for them and I'm happy to be like that.

Well, thats true but even that it all comes down to the way the teams play with each other and the way coach set up the line up. (Febragas would be a great choice only because 7 of Barcelona starters are from Spain national team Fab would make 8 and they would work well together....hopefully)

LOL they were considered legends before and have like the same faith as Real but worse kinda were they just seem like they can't get anything but eventually will and they have big money coming out this summer and some key signing I really liked the Suarez and Carrol signing they had done in exchange for Torres. Their is rumors for Bojan Barcelona young striker maybe signing with them.

Tic Tac Tic Tac... It's really getting more and more and tensed...:p Anyways, here are some quotes/part of interviews from different players, tacticians, coaches, the referee of the match ect...before the epic showdown.

"We'll find a solution to the game. It's about what's best for us; what's the best way for us to win the match. It will be down to how we operate in the attacking part. Barcelona attack well but we have players who can do that too. We have attacking players and there's no question they'll be on show tomorrow." - Sir Alex Ferguson

"You do think more about things you lose than what you win. You hope to bring your 'A' game to the final. For that you need everything, saves, communication skills, experience and motivation skills. It must all go together to make sure you defend well. In that sense, preparation is the same as if you were playing Wigan. The difference is in the intensity because nothing beats this game." - Edwin Van Der Sar

"In 2009, we never played. We never got on the ball. We weren't Manchester United that day. This time we will give a better account of ourselves." - Rio Ferdinand.

"Obviously Barcelona are a great team and they'll have a lot of possession in the game, but we'll also try to exploit their weaknesses. All teams have weaknesses." - Nemanja Vidic.

"2009 was a big, big frustration and I don't want to experience a feeling like that again." - Patrice Evra.

"I'll be very happy for Fabio if he gets picked. I'll be sad for myself if I'm not playing but I'll be feeling happy for him." - Rafael da Silva.

"You’ve got to respect the strengths Barcelona have - they’re a terrific team. But we’re there for a reason as well. We believe we’re a very good team and when we play well and do what we’re good at we’re a match for anyone." - Michael Carrick

"It is in England so Barcelona are the away team. We have played many times at Wembley so that makes us feel at home and hopefully we can continue our good home record." - Ji-sung Park.

"If you look at European football then you'd say it's the ideal final. I think the purists and the neutrals would probably say Barcelona and United are the best two teams in Europe right now." - Michael Owen.

“We know Barcelona are a brilliant attacking team, but as with all attacking teams if you attack them as well then there are going to be spaces to exploit. I’m sure we’ll create opportunities. Possession is key to Barcelona's success. The Spanish side keep the ball superbly and probe patiently for openings. It's an approach that's undone many sides this season. In those instances it’s about how you close the spaces down." - Wayne Rooney

"Barcelona have that experience and confidence from winning the trophy. A lot of their players went on to win the World Cup so they're an experienced world-class team. But we've learned from that final and got better as a team. Manchester United are all about attacking football, about scoring more goals than the other team, and that will never change. The sides aren't too dissimilar to a couple of years ago – they are both very good teams, the best in their country." - Ryan Giggs

"In 2009, in terms of our intensity during different stages of the match, there are a few things that weren't as good as they could have been. We won't be playing the same way we did two years ago." - Pep Guardiola

"The intention is to go on making history for the club and for this generation of players. With Pep, the shadow of [Johan] Cruyff is important; he has been a reference point. The coach has stood up to that mark since he came and that, the fact we are at Wembley for such an important final and the history of 1992 makes us proud." - Victor Valdes

"This Manchester United team is much more unpredictable without Ronaldo. They have formed a more balanced group and they are stronger than they were two years ago." - Daniel Alves

"It's about all the supporters and fans that unite and come to see Barça, no matter where they are from. It is about the team, trying to motivate them with this chant (Barca's anthem). It's the power all the supporters give to the team, their contribution to taking the last step. At Wembley all the supporters will come together and give great support to the team to win the Champions League." - Gerard Piqué

"We have to enjoy this game. It's been hard getting here and I don't know if it will be the last one of our generation so of course we have to go for it and see how it goes." - Carles Puyol.

“For footballers that play at the big clubs like me, taking part in the Champions League every year is a normal thing, but not many make it to the last match, the final – it's like playing at the World Cup." - Javier Mascherano

"It would be great to win at Wembley again and close the circle. I've had the opportunity to play there with France and it's an incredible stadium" - Éric Abidal

“In Europe I have won everything apart from the Champions League, so it’s a big motivation for me. I want to complete my collection by beating Manchester United.” - Adriano Correia

"They [United] combine really well, they have great movement, they are quick and they score lots of goals. We will have to be careful with their counter-attacks and on the wings, where they have fast and skillfil players. I have admired them ever since [1999]." - Sergio Busquets

"To me, the Champions League is the greatest tournament you can play in, besides the World Cup. This is definitely the best Barcelona team I have ever played in, that's for sure. I have big expectations for this match. I have got older and more experienced. I have been in many of the situations before and I take more wise decisions now on the pitch. We all know what we are capable of because of what we have showed during the whole season. We got to this final in good shape, the guys are up for it. We can't wait for the game to kick off and to probe ourselves once more [to see whether] we can win this again." - Lionel Messi

"If anyone can beat Barcelona with the talent they've got in their side, it's Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United." - David Beckham.

"United will play against Barca as they did against Arsenal, with three men in midfield. Ferguson is aware of the physical superiority of his team and knows that United's best chances may be from mistakes and corners. This strategy is key in the finals." - Cesc Fabregas.

"I think it's about going out there with the right attitude, with the right belief and composure. United, playing the way they normally do, have a great chance, because they are a special club with a special winning mentality." - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

"For those of us who were there in '92, the ones who played in that final and won Barça's first European Cup, the name Wembley brings memories of happiness. We were playing at Wembley, and football people, and those who know English football, all know that Wembley is more than a stadium. We know it is no longer Wembley, but the new Wembley, so we'll have the opportunity to repeat the scenario." - Andoni Zubizarreta

"Outside of the [FIFA] World Cup, if you ask any player this is the ultimate trophy that everybody wants to lift. To have the opportunity to do it again – for a fourth time for United – would be absolutely phenomenal. Winning their fourth would set a benchmark to show they're not far behind the ultimate teams in Europe. I'm going for 2-1 to United." - Dwight Yorke

"Wembley's something special. The old stadium was special, but this new stadium is special too and the atmosphere will be fantastic. Playing for your club, it's the best prize you can win. For every young player, watching the Champions League is something special. To play in the tournament is special anyway but to win it is something you can only dream of. It's going to be a close game. Hopefully Barcelona are going to win – maybe 2-1." - Giovanni van Bronckhorst

The thing with Barca is three passes - bang, bang, bang - and they're through. So you have to get in their faces. United have a better chance than we have. They have players like Fletcher, [Ji-Sung] Park, [Antonio] Valencia. They are all runners and they can stop players. I think it will be Barcelona [who win] because of the way they play. It’s the way Arsenal play and the way I like so if anyone deserves to win it’s Barcelona.” - Jack Wilshere

"I'll be at the final in spirit because I have good friends who will be playing so my heart will be with them. I definitely hope Barcelona win. But you never know what will happen. Both Manchester United and Barcelona have improved [since the 2009 final]. I hope it will be a beautiful final." - Samuel Eto'o

"I don't think they were too far off two years ago I think the thing in their favour is there is no Ronaldo any more. I think they have a more settled team. Now, they have got a stronger unity as a team and Ronaldo didn't really contribute much in the final two years ago. I think they have got a very good chance of beating them, but if you go on the form book Barca are still more likely winner." - Dietmar Hamann

"If Barcelona turn up, they win. Barca have got to have a bad day for United to realistically have a chance. Either that or United get lucky." - Gary Lineker.

"I expect to see a very tight match. Both teams have very high quality players, so I expect to see plenty of goals, too. The teams are both good as groups. They have a lot of good individuals, but the squads are very strong as well. Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney were definitely the two players who caught my eye most this season and I think they will be the main protagonists. However, the match will be won in midfield.” - Massimiliano Allegri

"Both Barcelona and Manchester United try to play football that fans like to watch. An exciting and vibrant final awaits us." - Guus Hiddink

"It is a final featuring the two best teams in Europe. From a technical point of view, the two are different – a very strong Anglo-Saxon team against a Barcelona team rich in imagination and brilliant technique. Manchester United have that special English character; they're used to very skilful but also tough battles. Barcelona, on the other hand, play a beautiful game and I think if Barcelona get to play their football, they will win the title, although experience tells me that in 90 minutes like this, anything can happen." - Giovanni Trapattoni

"A Champions League final is an absolutely top match, so we can expect a celebration of football" - Viktor Kassai (referee of the Final)

"We have to show both teams playing football. We have to see who dominates, who controls their own situations. When you play in the final and both teams want to win and both teams want to play and attack for the rest of world, I can imagine it'll be a good final." - Pep Guardiola

"It's an appealing final in terms of what could happen in the game - anything could happen. There could be a lot of goals, a lot of excitement, a lot of good football. This could be the best final of the decade." - Sir Alex Ferguson
