do you know that when tobi met up with itachi the first time when they talked about killing the whole uchiha clan.tobi had hair just like madara at that point but 16 years ago his hair was short like right now,now that i dont understand.why switch between hair styles?

That's true. Madara could simply be changing his appearance to keep his identity hidden, and fool his opponents, who are all around him.

Seven years later, Madara meets Itachi, who gives him the offer of eliminating the Uchiha clan, in exchange for promising not to attack Konoha.

This is the present, where Madara walks with Kabuto after being approached and forced into an alliance, because of an unseen person's presence inside an Edo Tensei coffin summoned by Kabuto.

Clearly great periods of time have passed since all these events, which would give Madara more than enough time to change his appearance as he wishes. Or, as Honord Sage says, he could be using genjutsu to feign a certain appearance, either so his true identity isn't discovered (if he indeed is not Madara), or simply to confuse the Kages and the ones he interacts with. After all, it confounds everyone on this forum, but everyone likes the mystery - it gives them more room to theorize, speculate, and just guess if they please.

You don't know that. It could take anywhere from an inch of chakra to an entire warehouse of it to sustain this appearance-altering genjutsu, but the point is, if Madara is doing something like this, then it works. He has remained undetected for all the years he was thought to be dead, and only recently revealed himself to the Five Kages, whose shock was clearly visible when they found Madara Uchiha still lives.

Modaro- Your comparing Tobi/Madara's longer hair that we've only seen once to a SYMBOL that is worn on the back of every Kohona Nin. I'm simply speculating that perhaps we're getting hung up on a detail that is not as relevant as some would like to believe. There is nor RIGHT ARM or HAND being damaged, it is Madara's LEFT SIDE. You have to look through Madara's eyes not at the screen and say the right is bleeding. But his arm is like Melting and falling apart, but there is blood on his hand and some dripping so it must come from his shoulder, and not the arm. Perhaps Zetsu's healing or body part replacement thing doesn't have blood in it.

Dude I don't know how much good this will do but, I don't think madara is a zetsu replacement. Maybe he is made up of spare parts zetsu put together. Because I remember zetsu feed on or collect dead bodies so maybe he uses parts to help heal madara.

It is at this moment he reattaches an arm after it was lost in his battle with danzou's men. Look at the his surroundings it looks like the projections zestu makes when he appears also the globyness he makes when he splits. NO it is not because zetsu is coming because zetsu appears a short while after here with his own projections, and globyness intact, on the side of his face.

If you look carefully the projections and globyness is to the front of madara and zetsu appears to the back of madara with smaller projections and in the pic after that some globyness can be seen in front of madara where zetsu isn't.

The hand which he attaches is all slimy and uncovered unlike his other body parts. Which is why i believe that this body isn't madara's but his soul is just animating the body.

Its not genjustu he uses to change his appearance

Sasuke would of known because he is a skilled sharingan user, also u need eye contact for genjustu and madara is unable to look into sasuke's eyes because of itachi's trap.

Kakashi would of known because he looked into madara's eye with his oun sharingan.

Karin may have known she might have detected the abnormalites of people's chakra's.

Plus there is no way madara could look in everyone's eye's at the same time.

It's a theory but it's no official, the only thing we can assume is that Zetsu repairs Madara and for the thank you and repairing, Madara gives Zetsu bodies to feast upon and consume the chakra. he just started to repair, so the items are fresh and dripping/wet, so it just needs time to dry off. But the pieces i think are like wax, because when Madara was hit by the Rasengan he lost his arm like it was melting off. SO the Zetsu repairing stuff is temporary until the part is hit by a huge heat source or damaged severely then it falls apart.

The place is possibly just a restoration for lost limbs for Madara, it could also be where Zetsu sleeps and eats.

Plus the quote can be interpreted as anything. No real evidence says the Madara has lost his body and is in someone else's. Unless we gain the official from kishi says thing Madara's soul is in another body, then all we can say is that Madara is in his ORIGINAL body. Oh alrighty, but this whole Madara mystery is getting out of hand, sure topics are good and stuff but there's been allot and allot lol, hopefully it's revealed what part Zetsu plays and what he does and who was in the coffin and if Madara is actually Madara. i would love to find out whats going on between Madara and Zetsu.

It might not be a genjutsu, but all of Madara's so-called "transformations" could really be natural. First principles, simplicity. He just grew his hair out from the time of the Nine-Tails' attack to meeting Itachi, and to the present. The easiest conclusion serves everyone's minds the best.
