Baseless assumption is baseless. The only way this would make sense is if it took more than half of his chakra to use that branch. Not to mention the fact that Mokuton naturally suppresses Bijuu chakra, and it was stated by Hachibi his binding (Not saying Madara's Mokuton=Hashirama's Mokuton before you or anyone else starts jumping to conclusions) is as effective as Hashirama's.

Not to mention he could go another route and simply cut the Bijuu up with Perfect Susanoo. Combined TBB won't be a factor as none of them will be able to charge it up before a sword cuts clean through them destroying the chakra receivers in the process. Any individual TBB is tanked.

Hachibi was about to get stabbed by Madara in the scan I just posted, I don't see why they can't be bisected. A bijuu without a host maybe but a transformed Jinchuuriki doesn't have the same benefits. (Hence Madara almost stabbing Bee and killing him via a lvl 2 Susanoo)

They didn't expect it nor did they even see it coming and they were both surprised. Biju being big targets also doesn't help anything either. Same thing will happen to the Bijuu. Once they are bound he can dispel his clones and PS to slice them and destroy the chakra receivers.
