Itachi had to kill his own mother and father. You argument is invalid.

And Madara couldn't defend his family from being brutally hacked to pieces by the Senju.

It was truly a world without hope.

itachi is only 20 LMAO and hes stronger than EMS madara dont frget madara has like 40 years over that kid

/thread

That's a joke! EMS Madara is the one who fought Hashirama at VoTE.

Saying 20-year-old Itachi was on that level is utter bullshit.

Itachi even in his Edo form, he got owned by Kabuto. U_U

1st of all, he wasn't forced. We saw his flashbacks. He chose it himself. Itachi didn't think of what would have happened to Sasuke. Sasuke could have been killed multiple times in P1. And what does Itachi do? Stays out. Itachi was a disgrace to the name of Uchiha.

You're right, it wasn't forced. He had two choices, both of which sucked. At least he chose the one that would cause less bloodshed. BTW, the point about Sasuke is seriously lacking. They are shinobi they can die from anything at anytime. Itachi had to play the role of a bad guy when he truly wasn't one, how would he be by Sasuke? Even if Itachi never completed his mission and grew up w/ Sasuke, he wouldn't be able to always protect Sasuke. Not unless he would stay with him 24/7, which is impossible.

Also, the Uchiha clan disgraced itself. The clan ditched their own leader, Madara, in favor of Hashirama and Tobirama. Then generations later they changed their minds and wanted to overthrow their peaceful leader instead of negotiating. That's just pathetic.

Shisui gave him his eyes in order to protect the name of the Uchiha. What does Itachi do? Disgrace his friend's legacy. Itachi had many ways to fix the problems.

-Use KA on Danzo or his father
-Shut Danzo up, like he already did

He threw away Shisui's legacy. Tragic life is sad life. Itachi only had burden life.

Itachi's life was the saddest and most burdensome in the series. He didn't throw away Shisui's dream and that is a very limited way of looking at it. Shisui stated "Itachi, you're my best friend. The only one I can ask of this. Please keep the Uchiha name honorable and the village safe." That was his request and Itachi did complete it. He kept the Uchiha looking like victims and himself as the bad guy, he hid the fact that the Uchiha were actually traitors to their own home and planning on taking control of it. They would have lost all their honor if that truth had gotten out. And he kept Konoha safe when he was alive. He kept Shisui's legacy.

Also, he didn't have either of those options you're talking about at the time.
-The eye Shisui gave Itachi was on cool-down, meaning he had used the KA in that one some time before. That's why he didn't use it on his father or Fugaku. That's also why, years later it was still on cool-down, even during his fight with Sasuke.

-Yeah...he threatened Danzo.

Dude. He was trolling.

Btw, Kabuto got owned in that fight.

Itachi had the burden of having to protect Sasuke and had all the disadvantages whereas Kabuto had all the advantages. Also, when you are in your Edo form, you don't come back at full power like when you were alive.

Itachi was forced to kill his entire clan and live with his diseases, trading love for hate and expecting the one he loved the most to kill him holding nothing but contempt for him. If his life isn't tragic, IDK what is.

He wasn't forced to do anything. He chose. He also had a fulfilling childhood and was mature enough to handle his decision. Hardly tragic compared to others.

Kabuto, Gaara, and Nagato had the worst lives hands down

He wasn't forced to do anything. He chose. He also had a fulfilling childhood and was mature enough to handle his decision. Hardly tragic compared to others.

Kabuto, Gaara, and Nagato had the worst lives hands down

-Saw war at age of 4 and countless corpses around him.
-Thought about clan and village's safety since age of 7
-Constantly pressured by father because he was supposed to be clan head.
-Had to be a double-agent since age of 10 and think about both the clan and village.
His early childhood prior to taking on his S-Rank mission wasn't quite fulfilling (and it wasn't tragic either), it was just extremely stressful.

Yes, he did have a choice. But it was 2 terrible ones, all the Uchiha die and are known as traitors, or you take the blame yourself and they remain looking innocent plus you save one and the clan has a shot at continuing & you prevent a conflict as a result. He chose the better one, kudos to him. And yes, he was mature to handle it...but that doesn't mean it wasn't tragic. It just means he was mentally-stronger than most.

The others went through less, it just affected them to a greater extent, which is why they looked to be in more pain.

Kabuto-kills mother and has no identity...Itachi had to kill his clan and take up a false identity and it died being like that. At least Kabuto is still alive and can go back to the orphanage and where he wants to as of now.

Gaara-He definitely had the worst childhood hands down. But life...no. He is now Kazekage and has an entire nation admiring him, he has friends and family that love him, and he even had fangirls in his village.

Nagato-He did have a terrible life. Grew up in war, lost his friend Yahiko, knew what true hunger was, manipulated by Obito, etc. But at least he had Konan and could share that pain. Itachi had no one and he didn't redeem himself when he was alive. Nagato brought everyone in Konoha back to life. Itachi came back as an Edo to find out that Sasuke wanted to destroy Konoha, the very people he spent his life protecting, and he did receive closure, but he had to leave not knowing what his brother would decide to do...that's just terrible. Or he just takes things harder. Madara never had to slaughter his parents and family and torture his brother for the greater good.

True hell is the waring clans period.

I rather live in a zombie apocalypse than during the waring clans period.

he chose all that willingly.
-Thought about clan and village's safety since age of 7
wrong. no he didnt. you cant think about that stuff at 7 lol.
Yes, he did have a choice. But it was 2 terrible ones, all
no it was thousands of choices. he chose the most brutal and murderous one
-Had to be a double-agent since age of 10 and think about both the clan and village.
and? madara was killing hundreds of people at 8.
e clan has a shot at continuing & you prevent a conflict as a result.
the clan is dead. how do they have a shot at continuing? he killed them all. he judged them as evil and killed them.
even though the supposed conflict is obviously averted if you merely weaken the enemy enough.

Itachi had the burden of having to protect Sasuke and had all the disadvantages whereas Kabuto had all the advantages. Also, when you are in your Edo form, you don't come back at full power like when you were alive.
other way around.
sasuke was protecting itachi much more than vice versa. and kabuto had all the disadvantages, and weakening of power. itachi was stronger than he ever was in life due to the sickness thing.
He didn't throw away Shisui's dream and that is a very limited way of looking at it. Shisui stated "Itachi, you're my best friend. The only one I can ask of this. Please keep the Uchiha name honorable and the village safe." That was his request and Itachi did complete it.
no he didnt. orochimaru destroyed half of konoha. so itachi did not keep the village safe. if he wanted to he would have killed orochimaru

He kept the Uchiha looking like victims and himself as the bad guy, he hid the fact that the Uchiha were actually traitors to their own home and planning on taking control of it.
for righteous reasons they called revolution. dont act like konoha is some innocent place that never did anything wrong
And he kept Konoha safe when he was alive
EXCEPT FOR THE PEOPLE OROCHIMARU MASSACRED LOL
They would have lost all their honor if that truth had gotten out.
and? itachi has no right to decide to hide that truht in the first place. hes no true uchiha and cant decide whats best for them
it wasn't forced. He had two choices, both of which sucked. At least he chose the one that would cause less bloodshed.
which i can understand if it werent for the fact itachi continually chose actions that caused more bloodshed than it saved afterwards. such as not killing orochimaru. not killing kabuto. not killing zabuza etc. itachi only kills those who he feels safe in doing so.
Itachi had to kill his own mother
no he didnt. he chose that because he deemed her as evil

This is far from true. Madara's pain was self inflicted, if anything it was born out of a selfish dream. I don't think it was out of agony that he grew stronger, rather it was his hatred for the existing world. Itachi's pain was born from the contradictions of the world but having the nerve to bare it and endure the pain for the sake of peace.

The role of the sin eater bares no equal when it comes to pain, Madara is a selfish man who claims to seek peace but through a means of control, not giving trust to mankind.

The reason Itachi killed the Uchiha is that if the Coup De tat had happened, The leaf village would be weakened, and because other villages are dicks, they would have attacked them, causing the 4th shinobi world war, causing far more deaths.

Better honour the name of the Uchiha by keeping the Coup a secret than cause a world war by Letting it happen.

And by the way, It's still sad if they could have stopped it. Being out of control isn't a requirement for tragedy.

Madara's suffering came from a war, Itachi's came from trying to prevent one.

wrong. no he didnt. you cant think about that stuff at 7 lol.

In this story, you can. Stop comparing this to real life, you don't judge a book by it's cover.

no it was thousands of choices. he chose the most brutal and murderous one

There were only two choices, would you like to share at least 5 other choices from the 1000 you claim there were?

and? madara was killing hundreds of people at 8.

Madara lived in a time of war where he had to kill, by the age of 8 he had already made up his mind to seek darkness, his anguish turned into hate.

no he didnt. orochimaru destroyed half of konoha. so itachi did not keep the village safe. if he wanted to he would have killed orochimaru

And in doing so blowing his cover you moron.

EXCEPT FOR THE PEOPLE OROCHIMARU MASSACRED LOL

Imagine the amount of lives that would've been lost if civil war were to break out in konoha? And like I said before, he wouldn't blow his own cover, it was his mission to remain in the akatsuki on the condition the the third hokage took care of his younger brother. The one person who really screwed up was Hiruzen... BY DYING!!

and? itachi has no right to decide to hide that truht in the first place. hes no true uchiha and cant decide whats best for them

Have you ever heard the saying "evil prevails when good men fail to act"... Well, Itachi acted, and prevailed... In stopping a massive civil war that would destroy the entire village.

which i can understand if it werent for the fact itachi continually chose actions that caused more bloodshed than it saved afterwards. such as not killing orochimaru. not killing kabuto. not killing zabuza etc. itachi only kills those who he feels safe in doing so.

And for the 3rd time, blowing his cover and ruining the entire mission. Kill Orochimaru? The akatsuki would have lost faith in him since at the time Orochimaru was apart of the akatsuki. Kill Kabuto? If you're referring to the Kabuto in the latter, then you're an idiot and I don't even want to bother explaining why that's such a bad decision. Killing Zabuza? When the hell did he even fight him?

no he didnt. he chose that because he deemed her as evil

He never deemed her evil, he loved her to the very end. Her intentions were pure and not for selfish reasons, she was upset at the village for their accusations, she wanted justice but she supported a cause that would inevitably destroy Konoha. Itachi is a shinobi of the leaf, regardless of it's contradictions, he chooses the village over everything else.

She even showed contempt for her son just before her death.

What you all fail to realize is that madara lost his family memebers one by one that s true but he wasn't forced to kill them himself on top of that Itachi killed his entire clan his parents his lover for all the people here saying madara has it worse is a fanboy and you know it everybody that has a brother here knows what brother love is ... Itachi lived his life serving konoha because he loved konoha too if someone where too kill your parents you will fill with hatred but if you had no choice but to save your brother and kill your parents that would mean real pain its almost unbearable.... All i wana ask too madara fanboys here is what would hurt more you family members dying by others or killing them yourself and living a life serving the ones who orderd the killing of your clan ?

Ignoring all the bad grammar, this is exactly what I wanted to say.

You all must be so lost in this story you forgot what it was like to be a human. Why do you need a manga to tell you how to feel? Stop asking about how that character felt. Ask yourselves how you would feel if you put yourselves into their shoes.

you mean for the sake of declaring war on the world and torturing innocents
What you all fail to realize is that madara lost his family memebers one by one that s true but he wasn't forced to kill them himself
wrong. itachi chose to kill them because he deemed them undeserving of life
Itachi lived his life serving konoha because he loved konoha too
no itachi lived his life betraying konha an doing everything he can to hurt and sabotage konoha
if someone where too kill your parents you will fill with hatred but if you had no choice but to save your brother and kill your parents that would mean real pain its almost unbearable
not really since itachi hated his clan. he only cried because of what pain it would cause sasuke. if he loved them he wouldnt have murdered them
He never deemed her evil, he loved her to the very end.
no he didnt. he butchered her because of political differences. she could have been put in jail or put on trial.
There were only two choices, would you like to share at least 5 other choices from the 1000 you claim there were?
in real life any deicsion has thousands of options. only danzo seems to think theres 2 options
And in doing so blowing his cover you moron.
what cover? we know for a fact itachi betrayed konoha and didnt tel them anything, not one single thing about akatsuki and left them defenceless.
and how will killing off a scumbag who attacked him first give himself away?
Imagine the amount of lives that would've been lost if civil war were to break out in konoha?
imagine the lives that were lsot as a result of itachis selfishness and stupidity.
he let orochimaru go, orochimaru killed thousands.
he refused to stop obito, obito started a world war.
stopping these evil people at the cost of your life is the job of a shinobi thats loyal to their home.
not stopping them = wars will start.
itachi is a hypocrite and a coward for not killing orochimaru.
it was his mission to remain in the akatsuki on the condition the the third hokage took care of his younger brother.
so your saying a poiintless mission that achieves almost nothing is worth more to itachi than defending thousands of innocent lives. good to know
blowing his cover and ruining the entire mission.
the only way he will "blow his cover" is if he outright starts blabbing akatsuki secrets in front of his partners or tries to kill akatsukis in front of nagato
The akatsuki would have lost faith in him since at the time Orochimaru was apart of the akatsuki. K
like they lost faith in kakuzu?
no one liked oro and itachi could have given a thousand reasons why he defeated oro.
like for example THE TRUTH. that oro attacked him first?
Zabuza? When the hell did he even fight him?
exactly my point
but she supported a cause that would inevitably destroy Konoha.
so does itachi given itachi supports himself and only himself. he threatened and betrayed everyone he came into contact withg

Itachi suffered because of a decision he made. He could've made a different decision and things maybe could've been different. I hate when people say he was "forced" to kill his clan. He wasn't force he chose that path.

Also Madara didn't get the privledge to choose. His family and loved ones were taken from him 1 by one. He took it upon himself to not let it continue but was crushed at the fact that his own clan didn't back him up. He didn't have a say and it's why he is the way he is now.

IMO Madara suffered way more than itachi.

Itachi, who was asked to eliminate his clan to save the village from war. The village is shinobi and shinobi are those who endure to achieve their goals. The Uchiha lost sight of what Konoha's definition of shinobi meant and that inevitably left them at the end of their sword due to their revolt. Itachi is probably the purest character in the series, having the burden of choosing the leaf over his clan knowing that the leaf would provide a better future for shinobi, or at least a better philosophy for shinobi.

Itachi was never bound by his clan, he's a a shinobi.

Hashirama commented that Madara loved Izuna more than Itachi loved Sasuke.

And Hashirama is obviously right because... !?

Anyway, I thought it was obvious that it was Itachi. I guess it's not. Being cornered to choose between killing your family (and clan) or betraying the village you love and dying along with your clan does not sound very nice. Oh, and having the one person you love the most (Sasuke, that is) desperately want to kill you does not really sound nice. Plus his entire life was pretending things. He rarely ever lived his own life, unlike Madara.
