Hardly. It was Madara's idea to bite Hashirama's flesh and 'die' but then bring himself back with Izanagi. None of that was BZ. BZ gave him a direction and Madara took it himself. Its not like Madara didnt believe in IT himself.

No, that was all part of BZ's plan. Madara didn't even know the true purpose of IT. Madara was just another Uchiha puppet of Black Zetsu, like all of Indra's reincarnations.

I believe he was responding to hashiramas proposal of dying as friends saying "well... if that's ...how it ...is I won't.... Say no..."
I don't think he changed, I think he believed they could still call each other comrades though, because he did ponder on whether he should have been more optimistic. He was considering other possibilities while accepting his dream was lost, and decided he might as well die his friend.

What are you talking about? Black Zetsu never controlled Madara. All he did was rewrite the tablet saying Infinite Tsukuyomi was the way.


Infinite Tsukuyomi would have still completed Madara's dream. The only difference is that IT was actually meant for Kaguya, not Madara. If Black Zetsu never betrayed Madara, he would have achieved his goal.

Well Madara died at peace with himself. However he did say that maybe he should have been more optimistic like Hashirama. I think he did change somewhat but by realising his own mistakes in comparison to Hashirama.(not TNJ though)

No I dont mean he threw the fight. He lost but upon realizing he lost, he saved himself and rewrote his death.

He clearly said his dream was dead and Hashirama's was still alive and that maybe he should've gone down the same route.

He didn't die holding on to his beliefs. He just got cut off before we knew what he was going to say. ***********'s translation paints the exact opposite picture. Typically mangapanda has the better translations, but rarely are the translations in total opposite of one another so that again suggests that you and everyone else are misinterpreting his last words.

Also it's obvious that convo was meant to serve to teach Sasuke a lesson. I really don't think he was supposed to learn to die believing in his futile efforts as the way to go

Really, again I don't see how, he hinted at an altered mindset several times throughout his dying speech. That little confusion at the end shouldn't be enough to confuse you. But I understand some people just need it spelled out for them.
