Name: Beast Boy
Alignment: Neutral
Alias(es): Changeling, Gar, Logan
Secret Identity: Garfield "Gar" Logan

Personality: Garfield tends to play the role of a lighthearted jokester often he'll play the fool both for laughs and to allow him a way to exploit opponents who underestimate him due to his personality. Though he is often the butt of many jokes or backfiring pranks himself he tends to remain playful, acting dim-witted, energetic, and often immature, granted he isn't a genius but he's not as stupid as he plays. When other's are focused on important details he is usually the first to break in with a preposterous suggestion or an unnecessary joke. Due to this, he can come off as immature, thickheaded, and cumbersome. However, he tends to prove invaluable with his kindness and battle prowess. Although he jokes most of the time, Gar can be serious when he wants to be and in a way his antics are a mask of laughter and happiness to disguise his sadness and rage at what has happened in the past and what it forced him to become in his opinion nothing but a killer. There are a few instances where he shows his true self. Garfield is also a bit of a romantic with flirtatious fantasies and can be somewhat of a pervert toward both female Superheros and Villians mixing his joking nature with a more perverted humor. He also holds within himself a feral rage interwoven with a deep remorse tied to the actions in his past. Like every actor he’s anybody’s best friend. He wants to make you smile, wants to make you love him. He’s always thinking about you, so he doesn’t have to think about himself. He’s an elephant, he’s a gorilla, he’s a nobody, busy on the outside, empty on the inside. He could smash you like a bug, but chooses to play the fool make you laugh and underestimate him.
Rank // History
Rank: 4 (Hunter)
Origin Type: Science Origins
Origin Story: As a child, Garfield Logan contracted a rare illness called Sakutia and was cured by a serum from a green monkey. This serum had the unintended effect of turning his skin and hair green and gave him the ability to change into any animal form. Later on while captured he was experimented on and his power changed slightly due to a connection to an unseen force called The Red brought on by the experimentation.
History: Garfield Logan was among hundreds of young metahumans kidnapped and held captive by the organization N.O.W.H.E.R.E., experimented on at the shadowy organizations gigantic underground base, the Colony. He was forced to participate in the annual Culling tournament, where the captives held by N.O.W.H.E.R.E. were forced to either kill or be killed for a chance at freedom. Originally he didn't fight, he tried his best to stay alive without killing, that was until the promise was made.'One hundred of the others. That's the price of you life. Take your freedom.'
N.O.W.H.E.R.E's cruelty was intolerable so he sought his way out; the Culling one hundred lives was the price for freedom. Garfield did as he was told, he fought, he killed, he saluted. Garfield was unstoppable and the day when his final fight had came he believed himself ready. One more kill, and for him it would be all over. One hundred human lives, people just like him captives experimented on he paid forward. Garfield had earned his freedom but like every champion before him he was buried beneath the Colony chained and bound. The promise of freedom was nothing but a lie. It was then that Gar decided he'd be chained no longer. Breaking his chains he went to the other captive champions speaking.
"Take your vengeance."
This was the first time his green skin turned red as he freed the other champions from their restraints gripped by a feral rage he tore through any guard who stood between him and the door. As he released them one by one they began to fight alongside him against the Colony's guards stirring up the general population. This caused a massive amount of commotion as the entire Colony began to riot reacting to this Garfield simply walked out of the front door leaving all that he had done behind him claiming his own freedom.
After freeing himself, he spent several weeks in a deep depression dealing with what could only be described as survivor's guilt. This caused him to want to become a pseudo-hero. He began to force himself into dangerous situations to try and come out seeming like a hero. The first situation was on a random Tuesday when he tried visiting the local Zoo, and ended up in somekind of escaped animal incident. After making sure all of the people escaped namely the random raven haired beauty he tried flirting with he encountered some escaped animals. Using his powers he was able to commune with them and figure out that the whole situation was brought on by an inattentive employee who left the tiger cages open. Returning all of the escaped animals to their cages and setting things right he tried to get some recognition for his actions but no one seemed to care.
That same day he saved a random Sun Labs medicine delivery truck, again expecting praise and admiration he was disappointed to find that no one even noticed. He delivered the medicine to the local hospital it was directed to but seemed more caught up with the fact that no one was noticing his heroism. At least that's what he thought.
A few days later he was hunted down by a group of humans who worked in the metahuman trade. Frustrated by his current situation he tore through them like they were paper destroying them and leaving them for dead. This was when everyone finally noticed him, when he was at his worst. The public immediately deemed him evil, everything they didn't understand must be evil. He slipped into a nearby alleyway and was able to escape the crowd that thought it was a good idea to throw rocks at him and try to alert the police to his presence. Something about this made Garfield extremely paranoid so he tried to keep to himself for the next few days.
His depression began to set back in and he began to drink heavily, unable to sleep his survivor's guilt reared it's head again. He spent many nights sitting awake, the sleep he did get was sporadic and filled with nightmares. One single face plagued him the most, a young blonde haired girl from the colony. She was one of the champions he freed, and left behind. He wasn't usually attracted to blondes but this girl was different. She seemed just as strong as she was beautiful and that caught Garfield's attention, even in his feral rage. Just like what happened at the colony she would fight her way through a dozen or so guards, until she was swarmed, the part that bothered Garfield the most was that she reached out for his help, extending her hand and screaming-... but Garfield was always just like he was back then too set on his track and would always leave through the front door not looking back. His imagination had a field day with what happened to her and the other champions after his departure.

All of this no sleep and paranoia left it's mark on Garfield and just like back then, he lashed out. On his way to the market to get food, he noticed a random swordsman. To him it seemed he was either lost, or following Gar. He turned and called out to him, the swordsman wasn't one to shy away from combat and thus a battle ensued. It was a complete misunderstanding, but Garfield's mind was so wracked with problems that he couldn't act rationally. The swordsman eventually gave his name Zoro, as a sign of respect. Garfield realized what was happening and gave an ultimatum they could both stop, and walk away or Zoro could continue attacking and Garfield would try his best to kill the man. Zoro seemingly stubborn and now in his own lust for blood, chose the latter. The fight continued, no one gave an inch, and then finally it happened the Red, for the first time bestowed upon Garfield a gift. His speed and reactions increased and without thought, without fear he brought the swordsman nearly to his death. That was when Zoro asked to call the fight off. With that Garfield's mind cleared his realized Zoro was on the ground and Gar had makeshift metal claws planted mere inches above Zoro's stomach. He agreed and left him go.
Zoro explained what brought him there, he was working for The Colony, Garfield explained everything that had happened to him and what that place was and Zoro went on his way this time seemingly tracking down an alien deemed Superman. Garfield didn't really care, and spent this time trying to figure out how he had tapped into that power source and how it had given him metal claws of all things. He returned to the rundown apartment he was calling home and decided to sleep on it for the first time in weeks he slept peacefully through the night. Time passed, a green meteor struck the outskirts of NBville, but Garfield didn't seem to care. He spent most of his time in animal form, exploring the town, watching the people and gathering any useful information.

Description of Powers:
Terrestrial Metamorph: Beast Boy has the ability to morph into any animal he knows of. He can change into extinct animals and even animals from different planets. When he changes, it only takes a couple of seconds. It does not matter how big or small. It does not put strain on him to do this. He can stay in an animal's form indefinitely. He has changed into multiple animals such as a swarm of fireflies and a group of barnacles. The only problem is no matter what form he takes the animal's skin and hair color will always be green. Beast Boy can also change into a hybrid, which has all the animals' powers rolled into one. He has demonstrated the ability to transform into animals many times larger than their actual forms: among others, he has been seen transforming into a human-sized tarantula and a giant snake. He has also been seen transforming into mythical animals such as a phoenix and a dragon. This is thought to be just a progression of his abilities.
No matter the form he can still speak.
Beast Boy's connection to the Red is unclear and may not be tied to his genetic code however it allows him to take on stronger and more adept forms. Normal animals native to earth are easy to transform into and control. Garfield's connection to the Red allows for a genetic sense memory as well as a propensity for replication and transmutation of his own body. As well as the ability to heal himself during battle through animalistic modifications and mimicry of natural regenerative properties found in nature.
Unique Physiology: Along with his shapeshifting abilities he seems to possess a degree of heightened senses in his default human form, having hearing sensitive enough to detect a stealthily approaching enemy along with other heightened senses. He can also change his natural human form in several different ways taking on partial transformations, hybrid transformations, changing his own muscle structure, height, weight, organ structure, bone structure and any other bodily structure. Gar is also a decent actor able to fool people if needed, this comes in handy when trying to hide his inner demons.
Animal Mimicry: Beast Boy has the power to mimic the abilities of any animal he knows of while he is in their form. The ability apparently gives him intuitive understanding of the animals and what abilities they have that may be useful in the situation. In his natural form he can change the structure of his body to accomplish similar feats, while under the effects of any transformation no matter how small he is able to speak with, understand and properly communicate with wild-life.
DNA Mimicry: Beast Boy can also model his own DNA after others transforming into anyone down to the subatomic level. If his skin didn't stay oddly toned he would be able to disguise himself as anyone perfectly.

Conduit of The Red: Eventually Garfield learned to draw abilities directly from the "Red", an energy field that connects every animal ever to have lived in the Universe. Apparently the Red extends past earth and exists as a universal concept. It is in essence the Universe's morphogenetic field, which provides him unlimited DNA access to any creature that has ever lived, or will ever live. This is part of the reason he is able to intuitively mimic the DNA of animals, and people. It gives him an intuitive blueprint for any strand of DNA imaginable, including a fail safe that means he can always return to his own base body when needed. This also allows him to draw on animal powers without transforming if he so wishes.
Animal Empathy/Limited Telepathy: In addition to his mimic abilities, Beast Boy can make contact with animals, empathize with, "talk" to and see their thoughts and memories. This is in essence a very shallow form of telepathy. This is part of why he is able to communicate with, understand and talk to any form of sentient life as stated above in Animal Mimicry. It is, a sort of an in mind Universal Translator.
Other Information
Martial Arts: Gar is also skilled in Zi Quan, Wing Chun and Jeet Kun Do. This allows him to fight in his normal form on par with some of his own transformations however this doesn't compare with his stronger and more adept transformations. He has even made his own more refined and specialized substyle of Drunken Monkey which is where he draws most of his style and natural fighting ability.
