That's one great usage.

Mist Technique is one of the situations where this technique is quite useful. When your opponent preforms the technique, he will keep some mental annotations about your location and the surroundings. If you use this technique on him, you can change that perception he has, and get him lost within his own technique. This would make it so that your opponent can navigate through the mist as much as he wants, while the fact remains that he will only go where you let him go. Preforming this technique will not only make your opponent miss any localized attack towards you (Something like fireballs or earth spikes), but it will also mean that you can control the area where your opponent is, because you will make him move only where you want him to move, like going around in circles within a small area, where you can aim your jutsus to.

Hidden Mist is one, another would be when your opponent goes underground. Normally he would try to strike you from beneath, or go behind you, or retreat to wherever you want, but with this technique, you can trap your opponent underground, and prevent him from doing whatever he wants. Likewise, he won't be able to aim any localized attack at you, for he will have a missed perception of where you are.

So it is important for you to realize that, within this jutsu, you can control where your opponent goes and where your opponent sends his jutsus, all by choosing the right word play ;)

I did not know such a thing. Could you give me an example of this word play?

Hum, something as simple as:

"As you go underground, I cast the genjutsu on you. Inside your mind, the position where I am shifts to an area 3 meters to your left, 10 meters away from me. The whole appearance and sensation of the ground, as well as your sense of direction shifts to that area, where it will then impel you to move about that general area 10 meters from me, while still giving you the sensation to be moving towards me."

Oh ok I see so youre not really choosing where they go, more setting it up so that they kinda have to, leading then. I like it.

Yep

Genjutsu: Jinmon (Illusion Technique: Interrogation)

Rank: C
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points:30
Description: A illusion used to force the enemy to give out info by torturing them in there minds.

You put your hand on your opponent's hand and strain his mind. If you gain control of your opponent through this technique, you pretty much have the match won. There should be some creative applications for this jutsu, to be actually useful in battle, but I'm not very creative right now .
Maybe you should know of some usages, other than seeking information.

You could use the mind torture to put so much strain on them that they do not know how to come back, leaving them a blubbering mess like a vegetable and trapping them in their own mind and body. You can mask your real identity and appear as comrades to them in their mind and make him believe he has been betrayed by his group/village/etc.

Hum. Very creative approach. It would work almost as if you're implanting thoughts on your opponents mind, which would obviously work in a better way to retrieve information from them. And that could be used both softly and aggressively, since you may want to gain his trust first, and then injure him.
Very well, I loved it.

Another interesting thing would be working with phobias and all that. For example, you could sneak behind your opponent and trap him on this technique. I'd say the first thing an opponent would do when he is trapped is to use Chidori Nagashi. But if in the torture you make him soaking wet and drowning, while showing him images of himself using Chidori and electrocuting himself, I think he would refrain from using it.

I will post the next jutsu because I've been away for so long, but if you have something to add, please do so, I'd love to discuss more usages for this genjutsu. We can discuss both jutsus simultaneously.

Genjutsu: Jigoku Gouka (Illusion Technique: Hell Fire)

Rank: C
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points:N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion were the opponent sees a huge ball of fire descending from the sky and enveloping its target. The victims of the genjutsu will believe they are being engulfed by a torrent of fire and flee their location for safety.

this is a pretty simple jutsu. How would you profit from this jutsu?

Discussing is good because honestly I'm not into genjutsu and can't say I know a whole lot about it or how to use it well :shy: It is becoming interesting to think of using it in creative ways. It's still a little hax though ^^.

Another way of using the other jutsu may be to have the opponent think they have been physically tortured and that their arms and legs have been broken. This would in theory severely limit their jutsu choices until they break the illusion, should the match continue.

The way the description on the new jutsu is worded suggests that the opponent sees the gen user being engulfed. If that is true than the user may think that the user hurt themselves and may let their guard down. If it is the other way and the opponent thinks the meteor is coming for them, then when they flee and are defending against the meteor, it creates an opening for them to be attacked since their attention is elsewhere instead of on their opponent.

Sorry to hear that, I adore genjutsu.

As for the next jutsu, yes, it's a great method to distract your opponent. And it is, inherently, fire, thus your opponent is likely to use water to counter it. How should you follow up this jutsu?

Well I'm black so that means my true love is taijutsu lol.

Well one of my favorite attacks is False Darkness Spear so I would most likely use that. Especially if they would defend with a water attack. Another option would be to add a water whip before the false darkness spear or wave of inspiration. They would need to attack from tow attacks coming from opposite directions if I were to set it up that way.

That's so racist... xD

Anywho, lightning would work, but think about this. What if you use the fire from the genjutsu to hide the Earth Lid?

Hmm that is a thought since its also strong to water. I suppose I'd have to know how they were going to defend first (what jutsu) and use a quick jutsu for my follow up to be sure of it's effectiveness.

No. It's like this:

You use the Genjutsu, your opponent sees an enormous ball of fire descending upon him. But as you create the genjutsu, you use Earth Lid. The whole genjutsu/fire hides everything about the lid, and even the shadow cast on the floor pertains to the fireball, not the lid. If you make it realistic enough, as you will certainly will, the only way for your opponent to know he/she's in a genjutsu without actually touching it is by using Chakra Sensing tecniques (Like Byakugan or Karin's Chakra Sensing). Thus their first though would be using a water technique directly upwards. But, in reality, it is not fire but earth, thus the water will be pushed back, and the opponent will be hit with the lid and the water.

Against these situation, since your opponent can read everything you're planning. It is most likely that they will try to escape instead of blocking. So you can play with that. It is probable that they'll use Hurricane Fist.

Well the way I was thinking about it is this. While the genjutsu is only C ranked and earth lid is B ranked (i think) if they see a huge fire meteor coming at them, though they can read it, they might not assume it is C ranked fire. More like S or F ranked along with it's huge size not allowing for an easy escape, they'd need to evade a good distance away. So they may in turn use an S ranked water attack to defend, which would in turn destroy the earth lid, wasting the whole attack.

Excellent! Well done Melizzle! I didn't think of that at all. How about you manipulate the genjutsu in order to make the fireball "seem" B or C ranked? As in, big yet not very thick or hot?

^^ thanks! But yeah make the attack look more like a fire flower or something common. and they may not feel the need to use the stronger jutsu.

Genjutsu: Jubaku Satsu (Illusion Technique: Tree Binding Death)

Rank: B
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:20
Damage Points:40
Description: Binds the user to a tree were the user then stabs them with a kunai.

Now, this is fairly simple. It makes a three grow to trap the opponent leaving him/her trapped. If you use your description well, you can make it so your opponent is unnable to retrieve a kunai from the pocket and stab his leg. Now, tell me a way where this technique alone would be fatal.

Well the technique alone? I suppose int he description you could make the tree bind their arms, legs, chest and gag them not allowing for them to grab anything, make hand seals, perform mouth jutsu, or even bite their tongue to break the illusion. They'd eventually starve to death.

Starve to death? lol, you can't maintain a genjutsu for so long...
But yeah, binding is mainly the purpose of this technique. I use it to break their bones too. it is specially usefull in my case because I'm a Kurama, and thus, when I break their bones, it really happens.

Well yes, but not days, I guess. I meant battle wise.
