Hashirama never tried to slaughter all of them over a night when they were sleeping.
And Hashirama would not praise someone's strength level about "soloing" his own clan infront of that person's brother; that's just being senseless.
He did not even know anything about that strength level of whole Uchiha clan during Itachi's time and Itachi.
He was obviously talking about his sacrifice and way of being a shinobi; it is not that hard to see.

Thats a bunch of excuses. Over 10 years of war, hashi would know uchiha power in best and in worst.
Also in any war cheap shots like that, ambushes and surprise attacks would be used so its not an excuse either.

Im not saying hashi meant it strength wise, im saying he could. Now its up to fanboys to speculate and draw the lines.

lol for all hashirama knew, itachi was a figment of sasuke and hiruzen's imaginations or merely an ideal like the "tobi" persona. and sasuke/hiruzen sugarcoated the story and left out a lot of things.

Anyone who believes that the statement made by hashi meant that itachi was stronger than him is just a fanboy. And seriously we are still debating that page, it's like people just can't accept what was written.

In the manga it states ITachi was Kage level by the time he was 7 years old...

Hiruzen said he had mindset of a kage; that's a whole different thing than power levels.
