Mokuton isnt sand that works on its own. Further more that amaterasu worked like projectile. Seems to me sasuke had problems focusing, which were implied ever since he fought bee. Cuz sand cant possibly defend amaterasu manifestation at gaaras face. Positive ways around genjutsu? probably numbers, as it was war not a duel?
I find no doubt he fell for one at VoTE, even if he can brake it eventually 1 sec is all is needed for ama shot or totsuka.

Like i said hashi is there in the open for superfast attacks, and shinobies with such can own him, they dont need to fight buddah, but him. Also the time he requires to enter sage mode can be exploited, susanno is brought under second and w/o SM he aint that fearsome.

No, Hashirama did not mean power. He was talking to Sasuke about what Itachi did for the sake of the village and to prevent a war, by killing his own people to save innocent lives. If it was about power, they would have talked about how many enemies Itachi defeated. Hashirama himself would not do that if he was in his situation and proved that time and again when he wouldn't let Tobirama harm Madara. If it was Itachi, he would have probably killed Madara so the people could live in true peace.

Hashirama never tried to slaughter all of them over a night when they were sleeping.
And Hashirama would not praise someone's strength level about "soloing" his own clan infront of that person's brother; that's just being senseless.
He did not even know anything about that strength level of whole Uchiha clan during Itachi's time and Itachi.
