Nope, it's not a mode and therefore, it only lasts the turn it is used, otherwise it would have that little (+X chakra per turn). And Yes to the range question.

(Ototon: Shinsei) - Sound Release: Divinity
Rank: A
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: Focusing sound chakra into ones limbs, the user is able to deliver massive taijutsu attacks that can shatter anything on contact, specially solid defenses. When used directly against an enemy, the blows damage the soft tissues of the target if used with a low frequency sound or the targets bones, if used with a high frequency sound. The vibrations don't produce any external effect, unlike what happens with (Ototon: Oto no Ken) - Sound Release: Sonic Fist technique, instead propagating into whatever is touched through direct contact. The user is free in which moves he will perform and can use virtually any stance he knows. However, because it produces no externalization of the vibrations, as the limbs are only infused with sound chakra and the vibrations happen in what is hit, the user cannot attack or defend from things that would otherwise hurt him like bladed weapons, etc.
Okay, this one's a cool technique. You focus sound chakra into a single limb, allowing yourself to strengthen taijutsu attacks exponentially, to the point where it can shatter almost anything it comes in contact with (solids in particular, though it must abide the elemental strengths and weaknesses.) It damages the opponent's tissues w low frequency sounds, while damaging bones with high frequency sounds, but notice, these are all internal results.

Also, notice that this technique is just sound chakra infused-fist. There's nothing that acts as a secondary layer, so even though you infuse a limb with sound chakra, you can still be cut with blades like kunai's and such.

How would you use this in battle?
And wow, ishould have just had you analyze this technique. :(

(Ototon: Takanari Kichigai) - Sound Release: Ringing Madness
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user, gathering their sound chakra into their throat and emitting a sound (anything from a simply whistle to speaking or screaming, etc), creates a high frequency wave that targets a foe's ear, causing this portion of sound to remain in their opponents' ears, manifesting as a building ringing sound. The ringing continues to grow as time progresses, originally disrupting how a person hears hampering their ability to think clearly. From that point, it starts to mess with their balance until they become incredibly disorientated, and unable to mold chakra properly due to this.
Note: Lasts 8 turns and reduces damage of the jutsu used against the user by -5 until this effect wears off while increasing the chakra cost of every technique the enemy uses by +10
You create a sound that produces high frequency waves that are aimed at a target's ear. The sound remains in the targets ear, appearing as a ringing sound that becomes louder. It progressively grows and initially impinges on one's hearing and one's ability to think clearly. As it progresses, it begins to mess with their balance causing the enemy to become extremely disoriented and unable to mold chakra properly.

So yeah, the note is very important in this technique, since it describes much of the effects.
NOW how would you use this in battle? How would you defend against it? o_o

( Ototon: Midasu no koe ) Sound Release: The voice of Midas
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user charges sound chakra into each of their hands and slams them together, creating a sound similar to two heavy golden cymbals crashing together. As the hands slam together, it releases a high pitched, high frequency sound wave, resonating in the enemies ear, and causing muscle paralysis upon hearing it. As the loud sound happens, it creates an echoing amongst the field, trapping any who hear it under paralysis, causing slight pain to them, causing their ear drums to bleed. Paralysis lasts one turn but the user cannot use any other sound techniques for 2 turns after using it.
Analyze dis fo' me!

First one is simple enough, sound based taijutsu. Good for a close range fight. It actually reminds me a little of gentle fist in how it can damage internals, but with the strength of strong fist. Maybe it's a nice fusion and superior version of both xd

I'd use the second jutsu in a stealthy maneuver or combine it with genjutsu, messing with ALL of my opponent's senses. To counter, I could perhaps "push" the sound chakra that's affecting me with a technique like a Nagashi or self-inflicted wind surge. Full body surges work against this, barring Earth, right? Theoretically, could Kai do the same thing?

Third one paralyzes any target that hears the sound clap. Nothing fancy here, but it leaves them very vulnerable. How would YOU counter it, sensei?

are u srs souji this is your training thread not mine ;-;
..countering it is quite difficult because it is very fast, aside from the clapping. I would just prevent yourself from hearing it like countering before the technique, otherwise it would be extremely difficult.

(Ototon Genjutsu: Banshī no te de gōmon no seiki) Sound Release Illusionary Art: A Century of Torture at the Hands of a Banshee
Type: Offensive
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 40
Damage: N/A
Description: The most powerful sound illusion to be created, A Century of Torture at the Hands of a Banshee is a deviant technique, capable of rendering even the most powerful of enemies riddled with fear. The user will focus his sound chakra into a sound he will produce and which will carry the illusion and trigger it on any enemy that hears it. The illusion triggered is simple but surprisingly effective in all its simplicity: pain. Anyone who hears the sound will feel unimaginable amounts of pain all over their body to such an extent that they may even vomit and lose control of their chakra flow. Upon facing such pain, the enemy will lose control over his body and spasm as they curl to try and alleviate the pain. The longer the target is caught in the illusion the more severe the effect is. The illusion however is just that: an illusion. The pain isn't real or associated with any bodily aspect or damage. The user must, however, sustain the inducing sound and focus into his chakra flow (not being able to mold chakra at the same time) to sustain the effects of the illusion as when the sound ends, the enemy stops feeling the pain and recovers virtually immediately. Sounds that can trigger the illusion and carry it can vary from a whistle (very effective as it can be sustained for a lengthy time and be controlled), scream (less lengthy but easier to perform), music (if the user has a musical instrument), etc. If the sound is momentary, however, it will not induce an effective effect.
Note: usable once every 4 turns
Note: while sustaining the sound, the user cannot attack or move from his position, risking otherwise disturbing the sound he's producing and ending the illusion.
Cool technique that is carried out via a sound, typically from screaming, singing, playing an instrument etcetc. You use the sound you create (whichever it may be) to induce a sound-illusion, and once the enemy hears the sound, they are trapped in an illusion of pain. This can affect multiple targets, so long as both hear the sound you create.

So basically boom they are hit with massive amounts of pain that forces them to spasm, curl up, or react in a way that would greatly hinder movements. They can vomit, lose control of their chakra flow, etc and it progressively becomes stronger the longer it is maintained.

But, its just pain, l0ls. To maintain this technique, you have to keep on making the sound that you used to induce the illusion and the moment you stop, the illusion stops, and they recover immediately.

However, you can't attack or move while you're using this, so yeah <_< >_>

What are your thoughts on this? What strategies do you have in mind for this technique?

Was just asking, nephew. You know I'm new to this ;~; :shy:

I can use a Shadow Clone to fire off this technique, creating a "zone" from which I can move freely while my clone maintains the sound. That seems like the best strategy to me.

Otherwise, this is great as a defensive technique, whether one realizes that or not.

How long does the effect last after stopping the scream? A turn? A second?

The effect doesnt last if you stop the sound. They recover "Virtually immediately", so once you stop the sound, the illusion ends and they are back to normal immediately.
Actually, anyone who hears the sound will be affected, including clones, i BELIEVE. z.z i will get a definitive answer and come back to you.

(Ototon: Ōkibo na Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Massive Echo Assault Skill
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: 80
Description: This is a much greater and skilled version of the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill technique in which the user gathers his sound chakra into his throat as he inhales afterwards exhaling as he screams, yells or roars. The resulting effect is a massive shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude destructive sound that levels anything in its path. The biggest different is that the user can control the area of affect of the technique, depending on the range he targets and the angle of the sound waves his sound waves take. 180º to 90º, the technique is Short Ranged. 90º to 45º, the technique is Mid-Range and from 5º to 45º the technique is Long Ranged. If used within a water source it receives +20 damage.
Note: Usable once every 3 turns
I mean you've seen weaker versions of this technique, so it shouldn't be too difficult to comprehend.
The difference, besides power, is you're able to control the range of the attack, to make it super wide, or narrow.
Questions?

Yes i've confirmed it, if your clone uses it, you get affected to. Anyone who can hear it gets affected u-u

(Ototon: Ten Ribenji) - Sound Release: Heavenly Revenge
Rank: S
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage: 80
Description: The user stomps his foot on the ground and releases a massive amount of sound chakra, amplifying the "stomp" sound which is released as a wave of low frequency sound through the ground and also through the air, all around. This omni directional sound "explosion" causes the ground to crack open in an omnidirectional area around the user up to mid range and pushes the air all around through massive sound vibrations. These are able to stop any incoming attack (following logic and elemental interactions) but also disable and stop any attack or thing moving or traveling through the ground.
Hands down the coolest technique. :c

This one is just as simple, lol. You basically increase the power of your stomp with sound chakra. So once you stomp, you release a massive amounto f sound chakra which strengthens the sound created by the stomp. This results in a wave of low frequency sounds, traveling through ground and air, in an omnidirectional manner.

It affects the area up to mid-range from the user, cracking the ground and all o-o

What strategies can you find for this technique? Waht do you think of it in general?

This is how I view the technique as (3:50), it should be close to it. o-o

A lot of these sound techniques are really just omnidirectional waves, huh?

I like it. Fast and easy to execute. Strong. Good as a repellent.

No questions, nephew.

(Ototon: Sazanami no Kosui) - Sound Release: Ripple of the Lake
Rank: S
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 40
Damage Points: 80
Description: A technique that stands as a combination of both the (Ototon: Oto no Ken) - Sound Release: Sonic Fist and the (Ototon: Shinsei) - Sound Release: Divinity. The user will gather massive amounts of chakra into his limbs and deliver a single, powerful blow into a given target. Not only does the chakra engulf the chosen limb in an aura of vibrations and destructive low frequency sound waves but also, upon making contact with the target, channels the sound into the target, causing vibrations to ripple through the target. What happens is a massive shockwave that blasts outwards on contact, causing massive destruction all around up to the limits of Short-range, producing a small crater (if it hit an opponent, he is sent backwards into long range). This effect is amplified by the sound vibrations infiltrated into the target which ripple through it and cause destruction from within it. The damage is higher on softer tissue which is severely bruised. The technique is highly effective again liquids and highly dense solids.

Last technique. Why dint you analyze this?

A simple taijutsu + sound technique that, upon impact, causes ripples, vibrations, and shockwaves that can mess up the victim's internals hard and even liquefy them from within. I'm reminded to Whitebeard and Kuma's powers from One Piece xd

The surrounding of your limb with vibrating and low frequency sound waves... could they potentially repel weak techniques, similar to the ones we've gone over?

I like the crater and destruction it cause around the target. It says it's good against solids and liquids... I can't imagine a Hozuki or armored opponent going up or defending against this.

... anything else I need to go over, sensei?
