Strong points

  • It is fast acting
  • They require only one handseal
  • It completely hinders your opponents vision of you
Weak points

  • It has to actually rise from the ground
  • It isn't extremely dense
  • The opponent can still move and counter in it.
Combinations-strategies:Now slamming on explosive tags onto the back of the wall or throwing kunai with tags on them would work well. Attaching a smoke bomb on the kunai would be great because his counter will still trigger it but if he counters with wind you will the be at a disadvantage. Attaching flash bombs or explosive tags would be a better option to increase the potency of the jutsu. Sinking the opponent once he is stuck is also a great option, because of the restricted movement but expect him to counter with lightning so preferably use a water entrapment jutsu.

Ways to counter this techniqueThough quick acting the rising allows you to counter it and anticipate it, as well as the dark hardening around the point of manipulation The fact that it is a jutsu that uses the earth as a medium the same seemingly genetic weaknesses apply. Breaking the one in front of you should be more of a priority than the one behind you simply because it doesn't hinder your vision. But not getting rid of the back one will restrict your movement

(Doton: Hokoriheki no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Dust Wall Technique

Strong points

  • It requires no handseals
  • It can be great for genjutsu combinations
  • It lasts for multiple turns
Weak points

  • It lacks actual power
  • High levels of wind can eradicate it
  • The dust can hinder your vision and not just your opponents
Combinations-strategies:First off placing your opponent in specific genjutsu will the using this will put your opponent at a serious disadvantage. This jutsu can be very helpful if you want to perform a multiple angled assult or want to prepare something that you don't want your opponent to see. This jutsu is even more effective if used by a sensory bio, it will allow you to maximize the effect of this jutsu if your opponent doesn't extinguish it.

Ways to counter this techniqueBecause this jutsu is pretty straight forward countering it is very similar. Creating rain will dampen the earth molecules preventing them from staying up. Static/lighting waves will dissipate the arrangement of dust and wind can blast it away. Spraying a large volume of water will also fix this jutsu, but whatever counter you chose it must be done quickly simply because the opponent will be using this jutsu to set you up for the next assault. I would not recommend fighting in this jutsu even though it is possible.

Description: The user manipulating their chakra will point their palm or fist at the opponent, creating a large rock on it which he then sends at the opponent. Alternatively, the user can "spit" the rock. In this case he will spit a large globule of mud which hardens mid way towards the opponent into a large rock.

Basic technique the user will simply use the earth to raise a huge rock and sends it at the opponent. This technique is projectile based and very easy to perform as well as quick. Its combo friendly as well as its able to go a very long range. Its easy to counter though and straightforward jutsu. If you have no earth source you can just spit out a large mud sphere which hardens to rock mid way pushing the opponent back

Description: The user manipulates their chakra and creates a huge rock from the ground that will rise up, hammering the opponent by slamming it down from above them.

A quick jutsu to use, the user will summon a huge rock from the ground to rise up, which he then begins to control and sends towards the opponent from above. He then sends the rock to crash down upon the opponent. Its a very good jutsu to use for attacks above but you must keep control of the rock. The rock is moves at a normal pace and the performance of the jutsu is quick.

Description: The user claps their hands together and then unleashes two huge rocks from the ground on either side of the enemy to send the opponent flying backwards.

Very similar to the technique. The user claps their hands and unleashes two huge rocks from the ground on each side of the opponent that appears anywhere close to the opponent, it acts to try to attack the chin or any other area around them. The impact can cause the opponent to fly back in the air. As said before they are left vulnerable in the air, they rise quite quick and the opponent can sense the density happen in the ground before they officially rise so they can anticipate an attack. Difference is you can only use it up to mid-range the most.



( Doton: Gizagiza no Iwajin ) - Earth Release: Jagged Rock Formation

Description: The user will manipulate their chakra and stomps the ground. By doing so, he causes small fractures to rip through the ground, which will then force fragments of earth and rock to rise up from the ground like protruding rock formations to then deal blunt force damage to the opponent and can raise them up into the air.

The user will stomp on the ground and make the ground shake and tear through small fractures through the ground which will then force the ground fragments rise all over the area where the tore went through. The fragments will appear also around the opponent rising to hit them into the air with some serious force. They will be dealt damage as well as be vulnerable in the air. Simple and very fast jutsu after you stomp on the ground you can move on to your next attack.

Combinations-strategies:Using this to block eye contact is pretty decent it is also a great counter for clinging jutsu. The jutsu is better for distraction purposes then offensive ones, its seemingly offensive nature works but its more effective as a distraction unless combined with heat which will increase its offensive capabilities making it more effective. Moving in conjunction with the moving rock is ideal and can serve will if you used a descension jutsu before this allowing their timing to be almost simultaneous.

Ways to counter this techniqueSimple prevention can be attained by straight forward knocking it head on with equally powerful or more overwhelming force. The jutsu rapidly hardens in mid air so if you use a jutsu that erupts from the ground before it can reach its destination it can aid you tremendously. The jutsu will take time if released from the mouth and it is obvious when used through the floor. So identifying it isn't difficult, irrespective of the range a user should be able to pull off countering it if you notice the formation of the jutsu and not it actually acting.

  • Defensive and offensive
  • It requires no handseals
  • It can do significant physical damage to an opponent
Weak points

  • It takes time to actually make contact with opponent
  • It partitions the earth when forming
  • The vibrations as it rises from the ground are very noticeable
Combinations-strategies:The area in which you force the hammer to rise from is critical so is it's angle. The angle which you choose to make the hammer rise from will increase the potency of the jutsu. The arc can block the opponents vision of you or stop their movement entirely if they are rushing you. This jutsu is very handy against projectile weapons as it can intercept them as it ascends. If

Ways to counter this techniqueAs ironic as it sounds nailing the hammer down it a solid counter. The earth hardening and moving/vibrating as the earth ascends gives you enough time to take it down before it gets above you. The weakness is in the height it needs to reach to work. Cleanly blasting it will help tremendously especially if you use a jutsu to follow through this will then give the opponent a sense of overwhelming force and hopefully interrupt his second move.

  • It requires no handseals and lacks the power to kill
  • It can interrupt an opponents jutsu

  • It lacks density
  • It has obvious signs of formation
  • Though it is multiple shards there are only two which is simple to avoid
Combinations-strategies:This techniques is great when you have previously occupied your opponents attention. With this jutsu if he is forced to look up or is caught in genjutsu and you use this technique it will be quite difficult to not take the blow because it has no handseals, it is quick acting and strikes from multiple angles. Now this jutsu can draw the opponent near or further away and one must be ready for it when this jutsu is used. The probability of a powerful surge jutsu happening if you follow up attack is good, is high.

Ways to counter this techniqueNow since this is so noticeable and the hand gesture gives it away, altering the terrain would be a nice touch. Descending or ascending will have a great chance against this, though your opponent will know where you are constantly because this technique doesn't cover you. Water another strong bet here, downward powerful wind blasts should do it. One can use fire but the possibility of heating the ground you intend to walk on has it's own recoil problems. This jutsu can easily be combated with doton techniques and if your techniques is efficient enough you can regain the battlefield.

  • It's an overwhelming technique

  • It cannot kill your opponent
  • It uses the earth as a medium
  • This technique can complete be eradicated and can be counter easily
Combinations-strategies:Heating the earth then performing this will give this jutsu an edge, though the ember shards will be noticeable, but the jutsu will increase its effectiveness. This jutsu can be great in dust storms or techniques like hidden mist simply because if the opponent doesn't see the stop their are hardly any tell tale signs of this jutsu initiating. Long jutsus that require multiple handseals can be stopped/interrupted within reason with this jutsu simply because it is a quick acting jutsu. If your opponent chooses to take the shot the fight might actually become more interesting.

Ways to counter this techniqueThe ground will harden in response to the chakra manipulation allowing you to deduce it's usage if you cannot see the user stomp. Because the shards aren't lethal taking a knock isn't that bad and you can even use the fact that the jutsu knocks you airborne to come up with a new strategy. Overpowering and overwhelming is key to neutralizing this jutsu. You have to notice the jutsu before it's released simply because there is almost no way you can counter it if they have been released. The window to counter this is slim of you don't notice it forming and you have to have a quick acting and high octane technique to get you through this as a counter, handseals will only make things more difficult and can lead to arguments.

(Doton: Ganchūsō) - Earth Release: Stone Spikes

This is my highest simply because unlike all the other earth C-ranks this technique barely leaves you vulnerable. Due to it's extreme level of versatility it can increase the effectiveness of any earth jutsu. It requires no handseals of physical gestures from the user to say the jutsu is actually happening.

(Doton: Hokoriheki no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Dust Wall Technique

Yep,weird I know. This is second because this jutsu not only obscures your opponents vision it can be physically dense. Since the techniques is completely embedded with your chakra it makes certain dojutsu users impossible to track you in it. This technique requires no hand seals and is great if you have a large edge over your opponent, though this is a more of a combinational jutsu, it forces the opponent to have to deal with it if your following moves are planned well enough.

(Doton: Moguragakure no Jutsu) – Earth Release: Hiding like a mole technique

Lots of user like this technique, I personally am not the biggest fan of it but it can be useful. This technique can not only allow you to avoid another technique and conceal yourself whilst submerged the opponent can sense the things around him. This sensing ability is what makes me put it up here, the jutsu has many flaws in my opinion but I cannot be ignorant and say that it isn't useful.

( Doton: Gizagiza no Iwajin ) - Earth Release: Jagged Rock Formation

Quick acting, difficult to avoid if used in conjunction with the right techniques. This techniques is basic simply and getting the opponent off guard with it is simple. In the RP you need to counter an attack with another most of the time which also means that you can stop other jutsu and put him at an extreme disadvantage simultaneously. The reason I have out lower on the list is sheerly because of its inability ti kill the opponent.

(Doton: Yochi no Douyou) - Earth Release: World Shaking

Another very commonly used jutsu, it has reached it here simply because it is a jutsu that cannot be ignored. Though this jutsu lacks giving real significant damage the strong distraction at a low rank makes this very useful. It requires no handseals and is quick acting but can also be countered quite simply which makes it drop a few. It's good against techniques that require the users focus to induce and can turn the tide of a battle very quickly.

Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar ? Ox ? placing hand on the ground, the user causes the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive or crushing them in a mayhem of jagged rocks. This technique is capable of causing quite a bit of damage to a large area. This technique is much more damaging if used in rocky mountainous areas, or inside a cave.

Okay after doing two hand seal and placing their hands on the ground the user will have the ground spiral in on itself, attempting to capture and crush the opponent. It can easily bury the opponent alive and the movement of the jutsu us actually quite fast. Its a great ground attack and great to use against a faster opponent on ground and since it spreads a long range its tough to evade. The user must keep their hands on the ground the duration the ground caves in. Its good to use with a partner or a clone.

(Doton: Retsudo Tensho) - Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm

Perform the technique:I rapidly perform the ox and bear handseals then place my palms on the ground. The earth then concaves underneath my opponents feet then rapidly begins to pull them forcefully downward in a vortex of hard rock and earth granlues. As he descends the rocks viciously hit his legs and body damaging more as the process goes.

Creative uses/strengths:Rapidly forces the opponent to look down and it can damage quite a large area meaning it is also great against multiple opponents. Using this in combination with other jutsu is great because you can deeply limit the the type of element your opponent needs to counter this technique. Distraction before usage or using it as a distraction both work extremely well here. The technique forces your opponent to look down in order to counter it so attack from above or from behind with quick projectiles is good. If using this in conjunction with a genjutsu that makes your opponent feel like he is sinking it will increase the effectiveness of the genjutsu.

Drawbacks/counters: The jutsu requires handseals and is very noticeable. Rapidly negating the attacks whirlpool effect is vital, a large amount of pressure at it's center will through the technique out of flux creating a systematic over floor stopping it. The element you choose determines what kind of effect it will have. Going upwards will allow you to easily avoid this jutsu but as normal one must give noticeable acknowledgement of the jutsu before doing so.

Description: The user of this technique condenses the soil and rock in the area to sprout out in the form of four large spikes which attack the target from four separate directions to make it harder to evade. However, it can be easilty avoided by escaping upwards.

The user will condense the soil and rock around the area in 4 directions around the opponent and summon 4 spears out of the ground which travel towards the center to come together all 4, now of course the opponent is meant to be in the middle and the spears act to try and pierce the opponent from all over the body. They appear in four directions around the opponent making it hard to evade, but you can still evade above or below. The spears act to try and cage the opponent in. After the spears come together you can begin to the next jutsu, if you want to execute it properly.

( Doton: Dosekidake no Jutsu ) - Earth Release: Earth and Stone Bamboo Shoot Technique

Perform the technique:I stare at my opponent with the intense intent to do harm, but this is merely a ruse as I urge the soil and stone below his feet to condense rapidly forming four extremely sharp spires of earth. The spikes rise out of the ground at an alarming rate piercing his body at the torso at the directions he is facing, North, South, East, West impaling him and killing him.

Creative uses/strengths:It requires no handseals, it attack in multiple directions and it can do enough damage to kill an opponent if hit correctly. This jutsus strong point is it's multiple angle assault which restricts side movement. Since the way to counter it is even in it's description. You can then easily anticipate it, with using a jutsu that descends. Now timing that would be vital because if your technique descends from the sky and this technique rapidly moves from the earth making it more difficult to avoid

Drawbacks/counters:This jutsu is very useful but it's drawback revolve around its moments before expelling through the ground. Ascending will help you easily evade it, since this jutsu actually doesn't utilize the ground beneath you nothing is stopping you from submerging. They all meet at a point so destroying two of them will enable you to move in the previous ones pathway avoiding the jutsu.If your opponent notices the converging of earth this jutsu becomes a dead give-away.

Description: The user creates their clone out of stone. Unlike other types of clones the rock clones don’t disappear after being defeated but rather crumble like rubble. These clones can also be used to create a clone of other people than themselves but do not take on the abilities of the copied person.

Okay the opponent will make an exact copy of themselves or another person who they have seen, made of rocks and earth chakra. It will look just like you though it will not have any abilities of yours or that opponent. Its very nice to use for deception and can be made fast. The most this clones/copies can do is move around but not fast.

Perform the technique:Remembering the similar sensation of performing kage bunshin, I take a relatively solid stance then instead of using raw chakra a fashion another me out of pure earth. I imagine every feature of my appearance then fashion my chakra as such. I then open my mouth widely ejecting a large amount of earth that then takes form into a completely identical version of myself.

Creative uses/strengths: It is generally used for a distraction or combinational attacks. Using smoke or flash bombs before forming it will allow the clone to form with out the user being able to easily distinguish between the both of you. Though that technique is not very helpful against sensory types it can allow the jutsu to be pulled off if against a non-sensory type. Using the rock clone as a diversion or as a scapegoat is can be great when you are stuck in almost tight situations but that can only be applied if you stick close to your clone. Using a clone while fighting requies strategy pick one and generally stick to it in this case unless the original is in danger.

Drawbacks/counters: Now this jutsu's biggest flaw is the amount of time and the area in which it is expelled from. The fact that this is formed out the mouth and if you look at the anime this takes time to form, meaning it is almost useless in high pressured situations. The forming is extremely obvious and you will need techniques in order to conceal the forming of it. Simple wide range and large scale attacks can deal with the clone and the original in this situation. Being observant can reduce the limitations of user, simply because if you can avoid the clone and rush the original it will be enough to put extreme pressure on the opponent.

Description: The user surrounds themselves with earth, taken from the immediate vicinity, in order to fabricate a formation of rock that is capable of protecting both the user and others in close proximity, if desired. Doing so, seemingly leaves the surrounding terrain unaltered, even when the quantity of earth used is enough to form a complete dome around multiple individuals as seen when Ittan used this technique. The user can also manipulate the resulting shelter to have openings in it so as to be able to observe outside, as demonstrated when used by Kitsuchi.

This is a strict defensive based technique. The user will manipulate the ground around them to create a dome of their size to intercept attacks, great thing about it is you can protect other people who are in close range of you. Its a basic technique and simple to perform. You can also manipulate it to create small holes to take looks of the outside to be prepared and know whats going on.

Description:The user creates a dome of earth, which protects them from external attacks. The domes shape is in a similar fashion to wood release: wood locking walls. That creates a half face dome.

The user will manipulate the ground close to you to rise a arced shape dome of earth protecting you frontal area. Its half face dome basically, its not very large in height but is very much in width. It can withstand basic attacks. Simple.

Perform the technique:I focus my chakra deep into the earth then create the image of a structural dome around me. The earth around me ascends around me concealing me within a solid dome of earth. Unknown/unseen is an exit arch directly behind me. I then look up at the sturdy structure then exit it with ease and stare at the sky above me

Creative uses/strengths: It can completely surround you, it can also be used to entrap your opponents. When it ensnares them it also resticts their vision and movement. It can shield you from projectiles and you can manipulate it to create openings if you are stuck in it. You can use this as a deceptive jutsu and submerge underneath the ground so your opponent won't know where you are and you can gain advantage quickly.

Drawbacks/counters: It blocks your vision completely and restricts your movement drastically. If your opponent attacks you from below you are in deep trouble. The fact that the dome is seemingly dense allows your opponent to use overpowering techniques that can also result in the debris from the dome actually damaging you instead of aiding you

(Doton: Iwa Enchou no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Earth Dome Technique

Perform the technique:"Hmm." I focus my chakra into the earth in front of me in a half oval fashion. The earth then rapidly rises in slate slabs converging in the center. They do this until they form a half oval barricade in front of me.

Creative uses/strengths: It can block incoming projectiles and ninja tools. It requires no handseals and can sheild you from river moving type attack. It can protect you from aerial attack and can save you from techniques that require eye contact. It can shield your from streams of flames, water and requires no handseals to perform. This techniques can also be used to trap your opponent because it requires no handseals it can be done.

Drawbacks/counters: It hinders your vision and doesn't cover you entirely. It restricts your movement slightly and because your opponent is now hidden from your sight he can easily overpower this technique without you know the technique is coming. The massive flaw in this technique is the sheer fact that you are exposed underneath, this makes you a prime target for ground manipulative techniques.

Description: This jutsu is basically a widespread version of the Mudshot Technique; allowing the user to fire at multiple targets.

This jutsu is very similar to its weaker C-Rank counter part. It has the same similar traits, it can force an opponent back, when hit on the face their vision is hurt due to mud all over the place and they can choke. You can also aim on the ground to have a opponent trip over. Its also a projectile technique so you can quickly send another tech without hesitation. This time you can send more then one, though note the more you send the weaker each get.

(Doton: Fukusuu no Dorosandan) - Earth Release: Multiple Mudshot Technique

Perform the technique:I simply gather a large amount of chakra in my chest then densely mold it forming a thick mud. I release the slick amount of mud in a rapid projectile fashion. As the large globules connects with my opponents' faces, I cringe as I watch him try to inhale while the mud as it congests his trachea.

Creative uses/strengths: Using this to distract your opponent can work well. It requires no hand seals and like its diminutive form it covers a larger area and does more damage. Once again combining it with water or fire can be very useful and lethal. Magma will melt the opponents face and adding water will reduce the possibility of the opponent using lighting techniques on it. It can block projectile attacks. It can hit multiple opponents and is powerful at close range even though it has an extensive range.

Drawbacks/counters: It comes from an obvious source and is easy to see, multiple shots means you are also vulnerable while successively shooting. This is purely useful against projectiles and hardly anything else. Simply using large overwhelming techniques can not only overpower this but also put you in a tough situation. If you connect the opponent on the face with this it can be moved by simply using a strong water,fire or lightning technique. It's lack of force allows this to be countered easily.

Description: After performing the required hand seal sequence Rat ? Snake ? Tiger the user creates and rides a wave of earth that can branch of to attack from a distance. The user can also use the technique to manipulate the terrain and trap the target by wrapping earth round their legs preventing them from moving

After performing the required hand seals the user will manipulate the ground to be almost like water, they can manipulate it in many ways. They can ride it like a wave of water and send it to an opponent for a attack. They can even have it wrap around the opponents less trapping them. The user must concentrate on the waves the whole duration of the attack. Its great for attacks as well as set ups. It has a strong bind and push attack. Great flexibility as well with the jutsu as well.

Perform the technique:I rapidly form the handseals Rat, Snake and Tiger and spur the earth to constrict my opponents legs. The earth movers at a rapid pace interlocking my opponent legs solidifying his position. I then perform the handseals again and this time I usher a large amount of earth underneath me. As the earth rises, I move forward with the massive force of the earthen wave underneath. As it encroaches my restricted opponent, he see the sun become blocked by my large earth wave as it crashes on him ending his life.

Creative uses/strengths: This jutsu is extremely flexible and not only has the ability to neutralise other attacks but interrupt your opponents. This jutsu is a great distraction and it can allow you to gain an aerial view of the field while using it. It can restrict your opponents movement and the wave can give your opponent an overwhelming sense. This jutsu is great for avoiding attacks that rise out of the ground at a moderate speed.

Drawbacks/counters: It requires focus, can only be started and formed from mid range on-wards. It requires handseals and even if you lock your opponents legs that gives him the inclination that another jutsu is coming. Meeting this jutsu with equal force allows you to simply neutralise it. Large volumes will not only break your legs from bondage but it can also neutralise the oncoming wave, depending on what the opponent chooses. It can only restrict users going at a normal speed.

Description: A trap technique in which the user will place somewhere and is activated upon contact with the opponent's chakra. The user uses a scroll to lay the trap in which releases mud that forms into the shape of wolves that will attack the enemy target/s. Despite being damaged the wolves can reform which can keep the enemy occupied to allow the enemy make a getaway. (Can only create a maximum of 3 mud wolves)
Note: Takes one turn to set the trap up and wolves only last two turns

The user will place a scroll somewhere around the terrain with your chakra infused, after one turn the scroll will be released and summon wolves made of mud. The more scrolls you set the more wolves that come out, 3 is the maximum. When the wolves are released they will charge at the opponent with great speed, this wolves moves by your will, you tell them what to do, but during the duration you do you can't use another technique because you must remain focused on the wolfs. Lastly a great ability is any attack they take which is taijutsu,kenjutsu, or any low ranked attack the wolfs can reform. This is a great jutsu to set up attacks and combos to a great extent.

Perform the technique:I withdraw two scroll as throw on the floor in front of me, as I see my opponent rush forwards. As his feet connect with each scroll they begin to spew mud upwards. I triple step backwards to create a little space between me and my opponent as the rising mud forms the shape of wolves. The wolves lunge at the opponents ripping at the back of his thighs preventing his further movement. They are great offensively, defensively and can allow you to create a great opening in your opponents defensive because of their distraction capabilities.

Creative uses/strengths: As demonstrated you can lay the scrolls ahead of you if your opponent is rushing forwards, the wolves re-spawning is one of the greatest quirks about the jutsu. The fact that this jutsu doesn't require handseals and is triggered aids a lot simply because if you leave the scrolls it doesn't count towards your timeframe. Launching the scrolls at your opponent can work or in close range openly palm him with the scrolls opened around that palm. He will be forced to physically counter which will activate the wolves.

Drawbacks/counters: The working of this jutsu solely relies on the opponents in ability to see the scrolls and touch them. This is a difficult thing to pull off simply because your opponent will generally have their gaze upon you and will see you releasing the scrolls. Simple observation will prevent the scrolls from even activating making your opponents move a complete waste. Using large volumes/large water source size of water can allow you to drown the wolves and prevent them from physically touching you. Neutralising them with lighting isn't a great counter but temporarily it can allow you to get out there if used in close range of the opponent.

Description: This Technique coats the users body with stones, making them much more resistant to attacks, at the cost of their speed. Whilst using this technique, the user can even change their appearance, but once the technique is either defeated or worn off the users original appearance is shown. The user whilst in this armor is resistant to A rank normal ninjutsu but is vulnerable to Lightning Techniques.

A armor made of rocks and stones gathered from your chakra. This armor can take some serious damage for the user so its a great defense based technique. Its resistant to mostly all A-Rank ninjutsu but vulnerable to Lightning. Now with the armor on you can change your appearance to fool an opponent but it only lasts until it breaks or wears off. Lastly the rocks give you a increase of mass so you will have extra force behind kicks and punches but lowers your speed. The armor constantly saps chakra from you for every turn you leave it active.
