Last Bastion

Last Bastion is considered by most to be the last sanctum of order in the lawless land of Tobusekai. It is, quite literally, the last bastion of hope and order for its residents that would otherwise face certain death should it not stand. Last Bastion was founded by the Witchwood Arena Company centuries ago; it is a city built of stone adjacent to the arena. The residents there frequently attend the competitions held in the arena as an escape from the daily horrors they know they would face should their city fall. Guarding Last Bastion is a massive towering wall that isolates it, and the Witchwood Arena, from the rest of the war torn Tobusekai. Beyond the walls to the northeast lies certain death for any who would be brave enough to venture into the forests.

Last Bastion is a designated Ninja World Marketplace and Independent Bank. It is the only Marketplace and Bank in all of Tobusekai.

Disappointed by the forest’s inaccessibility, Astra instead set their sights on the neighboring city. An enormous wall marked a clear separation between the city and the untamed wilderness beyond. Astra’s ship sailed high in the sky atop currents of wind. They were going to find somewhere they could safely land but before their ship could clear the wall they saw several bright beacons streak past them. It was then they noticed guards lining the top of the wall, some with large, cannon-like weapons trained on their ship. Not wanting to piss off the first people they encountered in this new land, Astra manipulated the currents to reduce the ship’s speed and lower it just behind the towering wall.

“Stop. Advance any further and we will destroy your vessel. If you plan to enter Last Bastion, do so through the appropriate channels so you can be processed.”

Astra read the guard’s lips as he explained their procedures over the roaring winds. Without protest, Astra turned the ship around and carefully placed it in the waters south of the city. Ahead, they found a well fortified harbor with gates that opened as they approached. More officials approached them and thus began a lengthy processing procedure. It was hardly the adventure Astra hoped for but they would bear with it until they got in. Astra introduced themselves as a group of merchants from the tea peninsula and were let into the city. Many people gathered around Astra and co like a parade as they entered the marketplace with merchandise to sell.

“Was that you flying over Devalia Fossa? That was incredible! How’d you get your ship to fly like that?”

“You came all the way from the tea peninsula? Must be holding up well without the shogunate around. Very few people come this far just to do business.”

“Are you planning to go beyond the Wall? Wouldn’t be so eager if you knew what goes on over there. Stick around, it might just save your life.”

“Visit the Arena sometime. You’d make good competitors. Haven’t seen any new talent lately.”

Thankfully, their reception was positive. The spectacle of the skyship quickly elevated them to celebrity status within the city. Astra asked the traders to gather information about the continent. For them, information was just as good as money. The city was safe enough that Astra didn’t need to guard the traders who were glad to lend a hand with the profit they would be making. However, given the city’s isolated position, credible sources were far and few between.

Facts about the far east were particularly scarce, simply being described as home to a fanatical cult that sacrifices people on a daily basis in the name of their “Mother”. That word rang a bell but it didn’t sound like exactly like what they were looking for. Were the two cults one and the same? After learning of the cult's recent rise in activity they didn’t press any further, should the locals assume they had any interest in the cult. Instead they took their time finding mo trustworthy and experienced locals who would share their stories of the dangers of the Tobusekai.

Astra had spent enough time listening to half-baked theories about the fate of Tobusekai. They wanted to explore, and they weren’t the only ones. A few of the traders and crewmen were just as unsatisfied with this little corner of the continent. As much as the townsfolk warned them it couldn’t stop Astra from exploring the new world. Star-1, who had been on the ship the entire time maintaining her technique, gathered the wind currents around the ship once again and lifted it toward the sky. The Comet, as it came to be named, soared over Last Bastion with Astra and several companions in tow. A flag bearing the Kaizen symbol waved triumphantly in the wind. They flew low enough to be able to observe any landmarks they passed on the way to their destination. Following a map, Astra charted their course…

Bounty: The Witchwood Company is directly offering 2500 kumi to anyone brave enough to slay a Mother Cultist in Tobusekai

Special Information: Several prominent cultists have spread Sea of Life throughout Tobusekai, kidnapping women and children and experimenting with the mutagenic Sea of Life that was brought into the world by Tiamat the Mother of Beasts. For the most part, the Cultists have remained quiet, and out of the public eye shrouding themselves in darkness to manipulate and destabilize the Eastern Continent and the Mainland itself through the creation and release of Children and Beasts of Tiamat upon an unexpecting world.

Currently, the locations of only four cultists are known.

K'thir: A young women, who can be found in the Ruined Temple ( 235 )

Medivh: An older man who can be found hidden away in the Shadow Tower ( )

N'raqi: A middle-aged man, who can be found in The Pit ( 218 )

Bob: A bumbling fool, little is known of him beyond his stupidity. Found in Sorrow's Heart ( 233 )

Each cultist has 260 health, suffer 30% less critical damage, and has access to the Sea of Life up to Forbidden rank. Additionally, they each have access to four basic elements, Yin Release, Yang Release, Kinjutsu, Fuinjutsu, and a high tier ability eg; Tensaigan, Ketsurygan, MS, EMS, Eight Inner Gates, or Seven Heavenly Breaths. Any fight with a cultist must last five turns to be claimable.

This is a special bounty allowing for four separate individuals to undertake it and complete it. Each participant can only choose a single cultist to go after and cannot rechoose once they begin their endeavor. Once a cultist is slain the participant cannot slay another cultist related to the Cult of Personality. This means that this bounty can be done by up to 4 shinobi but cannot be repeated by the same individual. This bounty can be performed by anyone regardless of affiliation.

The Witchwood Company is offering 7000 kumi and 3000 ryo to each shinobi who can reign in the Cabal of Sickness.

Special Information: Intelligence has reached the Witchwood Arena and its adjacent sanctum Last Bastion about a Necromancer leading an evil Cabal in an organized effort to overthrow and subjugate those protected by the Witchwood Company in Tobusekai. The Witchwood Company has began conscripting the same shinobi they pit against one another in daily combat using them to provide a show for their arena, asking them to fight in the name of the Witchwood Company. They offer a payment that reflects the difficulty of the task that sets before those valiant shinobi brave enough to stand up and fight for the Company and the world. The Cabal consists of four Children of Tiamat and a Yin-Yang creation similar to a Beast of Tiamat working together for a common goal. Their names are unknown to the general public, and to the Witchwood Company, however, the Witchwood Company and their intelligence division have been able to glean some details about the Cabal, their fighting styles, and abilities. They each have access to Voidborne Corruption, Genetic Modification, and other abilities specific to the augmentations and experimentation Takauji Ashikaga underwent but remain in full control of their mind and body unfettered by outside control from the Mother of Beasts or the Mother Cult itself. Together the Cabal has access to five moves per turn or post and are unaffected by the darkness of Selva Oscura.

???: No one officially knowns the name Ner-Zhul but he is the head of the Cabal of Sickness a promising Necromantic shaman with incredible power and favor in the Mother Cult. He has been tasked with the extermination of the Witchwood Company that protects the Last Bastion of Tobusekai as the Mother Cult wishes to expand westward after the resealing of their Primordial Goddess of Life, She has given them many boons through the Sea of Life She left behind for Her devout Children. Ner-Zhul has a staggering health pool, having 1000. He has an immunity to all genjutsu and access to the basic five elements, genjutsu, taijutsu, ninjutsu, Yin Release, Yang Release, Yin-Yang Release, Kinjutsu, Fuinjutsu, and the Sea of Life. Additionally, he has undergone consensual experimentation from the Mother Cult having access to the Gates of Life that Takauji Ashikaga had accessed as well as the same augmentations and abilities. He moves at Sage Rank speed without augmentations.

???: Deathwing the Destroyer, is a Yin-Yang creation driven mad by experimentation with the Sea of Life gaining abilities that surpass normal Yin-Yang creations. The creation takes the form of a thirty-meter tall obsidian-dragon with two large and fleshy wings. He has the ability of flight at x3 the speed of a Sage Ranked individual and moves at Sage Ranked speed when not flying. He has a health pool consisting of 250 and access to a passive form of Chakra Transfer. He has access to Fire, Lightning, Yin-Yang Release and the Sea of Life.

???: Kel'Thuzad is a high ranking member of the Mother Cult, the lieutenant to Ner-Zhul and a powerful individual in his own right. He has a health pool of 500, and access to the basic five elements, genjutsu, taijutsu, ninjutsu, Yin Release, Yang Release, Yin-Yang Release, Kinjutsu, Fuinjutsu, and the Sea of Life. Additionally, he has an EMS Sharingan. He moves at Jounin Speed.

??? and ???: Lord and Lady Briarwood are unrelated lovers who underwent considerable bodily experimentation via the Sea of Life ending up with abilities similar to the properties of Sōma no Kō. They are able to merge and unmerge their bodies at will and passively being two humans who are able to share a single body or two separate humans. When merged their chakra resonates with one another passively increasing all of their damage by forty, when separated they are still able to act as a formidable team able to use the Chakra Transfer Technique upon one another in a passive manner. They have a health pool of 300 each, or 600 total when merged and if combined they have an innate reduction of forty damage for any technique that would physically strike them. When merged they also are able to passively break each other from any genjutsu including Yin, and MS grade. They each have access to the basic five elements, genjutsu, taijutsu, ninjutsu, Yin Release, Yang Release, Yin-Yang Release, Kinjutsu, Fuinjutsu, and the Sea of Life. They each move at Sage Rank speed.

Participants will reply using team rules when combat begins, thus controlling one another's biographies switching off on who posts for each move forcing the roleplayers to work together for the betterment of the team. The Cabal of Sickness will not split, or fight individually acting as a singular unit at all times granting them five moves per turn. This will require a titanic struggle similar to when Tsumigakure fought Takauji Ashikaga making it a team activity don't come into this selfishly or you will not have fun.

This is a special bounty allowing for three-five separate individuals to undertake and complete it as a team. It can not be attempted by a single individual requiring a group to even begin or interact with the bounty. This group must consist of shinobi, ergo; clones, summons, puppets, CoATs or any other creation will not count toward the three-person minimum required to begin the bounty. Meaning each participant must work together to obtain their ultimate goal. This bounty can be attempted by anyone regardless of affiliation. Due to the grand scale, the bounty will last until completed even drawing past the end of the arc if that should come before its completion. Each participant will be paid individually for their time, effort and work.

Somehow that fight awakened something in Desmond he felt a new surge of energy within himself, "Is this due to continues contact with these Tiamat beasts?" he thought to himself as he collected his money. Regardless Desmond would drop his leg weights storing them in a med scroll and create a shadow clone of himself which immediately upon spawning would eat a chakra pill. With money clone, puppets, and summon refreshed and ready Desmond would activate his byakugan as he and his personal entourage set out back to Tsumi.

As a result, the user gains a drastic boost to his running speed (doubles) and +20 to all his Strong Fist Kick-related moves. However, this boost in strength and speed is completely nullified when releasing the EIG or when using any kind of movement speed enhancement technique or weight manipulation technique; they don't add up on each other.

(Kage Bunshin no Jutsu) - Shadow Clone Technique

Description: The Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and himself and creates a real copy with form and substance. The clones, a max number of 4, are capable of performing techniques on their own and can even bleed, but will usually disperse after hit by a strong enough force, returning 10% of its individual chakra to the user. Shadow clones can't be distinguished from the original with Sharingan, Byakugan, Rinnegan or normal Chakra Sensing. The clone itself can also utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones.

(Hyōrōgan) Military Ration Pills
Type: Healing
Description and Background: Military Rations Pills (兵糧丸, Hyōrōgan) are special pills that replenish one's chakra and nourish the body. It is made up of powerful stimulants and nutrients, said to allow the user to keep fighting for three days and three nights without rest. Replenishes 50 percent of the user's maximum chakra supply per pill taken, along with pumping stimulants into the body to alleviate tiredness. These pills are a basic medicine medical ninjas use or distribute in combat and are essentially dark brown small round pills that are swallowed and absorbed through the mucosa in the stomach. It can only be given out to up to 4 times, excluding the user's use.
Description of Side Effects:
-Taking two pills in a conflict results in hyper-stimulation of the cardiovascular system. The user's heart rate and blood pressure increase to the point they become painful for 6 turns after taking the pill.
-Taking 3 pills in a conflict pushes the user's cardiovascular system to breaking point, resulting in heart failure after 4 turns.
-Costs a move per turn to use.

(Dōjutsu: Byakugan) Eye Technique: The All-Seeing White Eye

Description: The kekkei genkai intrinsic to both the Hyūga and Ōtsutsuki clans—descendants of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. Those who possess this dōjutsu have it manifested as eyes with featureless white irides and no visible pupils. And when activated, the pupils become more distinct and the veins near their temples bulge. To activate the dōjutsu, Hyuga but not Ōtsutsuki clan members are initially obliged to use a rather long and specific sequence of hand seals: Horse → Tiger → Boar → Hare → Rat → Dog → Horse → Dog → Hare → Rat → Boar → Snake. But once activated, the dōjutsu user is endowed with a range of skills.

To start, an activated Byakugan gives the user a near 360º diameter field of vision bar one blind spot at the back of the neck, above the first thoracic vertebra. Its vision can penetrate through any solid objects or obstructions and likewise remains unaffected by blinding interferences. But that being said, certain barriers and the like may distort its perception. In addition, it is able to follow high-speed movements, which enables those with this dōjutsu to analyze their foes' actions and better react to them. The Byakugan is also able to see chakra to a higher degree than the Sharingan and ergo, identify where a person's chakra signature originates from. Beyond that, it can discern certain types of clones from the real person. And its ability to see chakra is in fact so acute that those who possess this dōjutsu are even able to see the chakra pathway system and the 361 tenketsu that comprise it. The Hyūga clan has gone so far as to develop its unique Gentle Fist style in order to capitalize on this particular ability.

Note: Hyuga clan bios of at least Sannin rank become able to passively activate their dōjutsu upon one month having passed since Gentle Fist training concluded. Ōtsutsuki bios never need to expend a move in order to activate it.
Note: While traversing the NW, bios with activated Byakugan are able to see up to two 2 adjacent landmarks away while those of sage rank can see as far as three away, but this doesn't extend beyond an ocean landmark.

(Kanki: Jidai no Pendoragon) – Surge of Evocation: Epoch of the Pendragons

Description: Considered the sibling of the Era of Gods and Dynasty of Kings, the Majesty of the Pendragon involves surging a large amount of Prana throughout the user’s body in order to enter the Throne. Their body, and everything on their person, will disappear instantly in a flash of light reflecting the color of their Prana. The user will then reappear amidst another flash of light at a location of their choosing; despite its nature, this process takes a few moments. Reappearing is accompanied by a crackling sound, creating both an audible and visual queue. This is enabled by the fact that the ethereal energy constantly exists within their chakra systems. Twice per battle the user can utilize a stronger version of this ability to prolong their stay in the Throne. This allows them to exist within the alternate dimension as Prana, which effectively places their body in a stasis. This halts blood loss, the propagation of poisons, the duration of active techniques/abilities, and any other aliments or conditions. This will happen for as long as the user is within the Throne. The user can only remain there for a maximum of four turns per usage. As long as the user re-appears on the battlefield on in the same landmark, then using this technique will not count toward escaping battle. If the user opts to re-appear in a different landmark then they will effectively forfeit the battle and the event. This only applies if the user utilizes Majesty while engaged in battle and not travel purposes. The first application, considered A-Rank, can only be used once every four turns. It can also only be used four times per battle. The second application, considered S-Rank, can only be used twice per battle and operates on the same cooldown as the A-Rank version. S-Rank applications render the user unable to use S-Rank or higher Prana for the next turn, if the user remains in the Throne for longer than a turn.

( Kuchiyose Kinjutsu: Edo Tensei ) - Forbidden Summoning Technique: Impure World Reincarnation

Description: The Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation is a forbidden technique used to revive the dead. To perform this technique, the user must first acquire some of the DNA of the person they intend to revive such as limbs, organs or merely blood samples. The soul of the intended revived must also reside in the pure world (jōdo) those whose soul has been consumed by the Death God, or have been previously sealed by other methods cannot be resurrected. Next, a living sacrifice is required for the soul of the resurrected to use as a vessel. Once all prerequisites for the technique have been met, the acquired DNA of the person is smeared on a special scroll and once the scroll is activated, the remains spread out in the form of a special seal with the living sacrifice in the centre. Then dust and ash encase the sacrifice's body, giving them the same appearance that the revived had at the time of their death. The person is then revived and the end product is usually stored in a casket until summoned by the user by performing the Tiger → Snake → Dog → Dragon → Clap hands handseals. When the user summons the revived soul, a casket first appears before revealing the revived soul. The Edo Tensei Summoning can be countered by sealing away the targets soul or by having the summoner cancel the technique. As they are unlikely to do this voluntarily, using a genjutsu to trick them into cancelling the technique is ideal. The sequence of hand seals for cancelling the technique is Rat → Ox → Monkey → Tiger → Dragon → Boar and saying Kai. If the summoner dies before the technique is deactivated, then this method is impossible. If the summoned soul's controlling tag is overcome or disabled by a technique or if the user so wishes it, the summoned soul or the user can both sever the contract through the use of the Snake → Ram → Boar → Dog → Tiger seals. The summoned soul is then left as an immortal revived soul, autonomous and without any link to the summoner.
Note: A bio can only have up to a total of three souls for revival which must abide by a few rules, specific for the technique.
Note: The user of the technique can only have up to 3 Vessels in total. Orochimaru, Kabuto and Tobirama are able to have up to 2 Vessels present in battle though only one of these can be a vessel from a battle.
Note: If the user purchases the vessel, it can only have access to single abilities such as their HA/KG/AE. If a vessel is obtained through battle, he is able to utilize the bio's Dual Abilities, Modes and AN if obtained. Only the canon techniques of these are possible, however.
