This post marks the beginning of our mission using these storyboard elements:
Build something for the Clan (1)
Gather resources from the land (1)
Summary: After helping some ship people from a pirate attack, Ryuu and Astra are welcomed in by the villagers and are offered residency in the landmark. However, they have to create a house for themselves.
Carefully observing the conversation between his clan and the villagers, Ryuu silently giggled inside his mind at the start contrast from before. Previously a bit unwelcoming, these people were now asking them to stay in the area. It was clear that they needed labour to defend against the pirates, and they seemed to think that Kaizen made a good candidate for that job. Still finding it funny, Ryuu barely noticed when Astra started talking to him, quickly shifting his attention back to his clan mates.
Whilst Astra spoke, Ryuu nodded his head at various intervals, indicating that he thought the same. He then used sign language to gesture:
I think this is a pretty good place to stay. It has lush grass. It seems prosperous enough, but at the same time, it is not a large enough place for others to really want to attack. Except for the pirates. Yeah I think we can deal with the pirates too.
With that, the boy turned back to the audience, and the clan indicated their want for staying. Ryuu nodded his head to the elderly man. As he did that, he noticed the man, along with several others, break into large grins. Ryuu could not help but grin a little himself too after seeing this.
Very well, come this way young ones!
Leaving the shore, Kaizen walked towards an area with more buildings. Ryuu couldn't help but notice all the people following behind them too. It seemed that they were very curious; they probably didn't see new faces around this place too often. Looking at the area they were going to, the Hyūga observed the place with his Byakugan. After a while, he made the conclusion that this was a peaceful place, with most of the houses looking humble. He also noticed curious villagers standing in front of their houses, intrigued by the large procession of people walking around the place. Children hung on to their parents' legs, wide-eyed at seeing this interesting event occur. At some point, Ryuu even heard a little boy of perhaps four or five years exclaim to his mother:
Mama mama can I play with them?
He looked up at her eagerly, but when she told him that they were too busy at the moment, his face fell. Not wanting to disappoint the little boy, Ryuu quickly ripped a paper out of his notebook, folding it into the shape of a flower. He also wrote upon it:
Your mother is right, but I can certainly play with you another day!
Giving it to the boy, Ryuu felt happy about making another person happy, before going on his way. He would return sometime later to play with the boy. Eventually, the elderly man stopped near some houses. He then pointed to a patch of empty land, saying:
Well here's a nice piece of land. I'm sure we can build something here for you to live comfortably.
Ryuu observed the place, which at the moment was just a slab of earth, about 10 by 10 metres; enough for a cosy little home. Surrounded by houses beside it and behind it, Ryuu thought it would be a rather fun and lively place to be in. He also noticed that the ocean could be seen from this place. So if any more trouble occurred, it would be easy for Kaizen to rush over. The elderly man spoke again, this time also addressing the crowd that had followed:
Alright, listen up everyone! Whoever wishes to help, we are building a house for these young lads here. Let's gather some wood to start off with. You lot over there, you can get your axes ready to cut some trees from that place over there. And you guys here will carry the wood here. Another group, you people, can carve the wood. Let's begin!
Ryuu wondered if this elderly man was a leader of some sorts in this place, for his speech appeared to motivate the crowd who punched their fists into the air and exclaimed "Yeahhh" in excitement. Ryuu felt overwhelmed at the show of support from these people, and he was sure that Astra felt that way too. Once everyone set off to their designated jobs, the elderly man went over to Kaizen, who were just standing there looking a little lost, and chuckled:
Haha, well you can join any group you see fit.
Winking at them, the man then hobbled away, appearing to talk to some other people now. Now that a place had been secured for them, Ryuu smiled at Astra; this was the beginning of something great. And with that, they walked off behind the others to gather some wood.
