i dont see him needing to avoid amaterasu, but simply exhaust the use of it with a counter (distraction). As Kisame was him partner he knows Itachi's limits pretty well and amaterasu could only be used but for long.

Kisame was itachi's partner and would know quiet a few of his abilities but that goes both ways. Itachi im sure also knows of kisame abilities. He did after all tell him that his techniques stand out too much and even went as far as saying if he fought kakashi he would suffer injuries. Whether this was to stop him from fighting or whether he truly knows of kisame's limit is speculation.

Also note that even if both know of each others abilities doesnt mean that they know everything about the other, nor does it mean they have the neccesarily counter for the technique. Kisame knows of tsukuyomi, when he mocked kakashi after it was used on him, but also warned itachi from using his eyes too much. This doesnt mean that kisame has a counter for tsukuyomi even if he knows about it

I think of it as we havent seen itachi at his best with using his techniquess mainly because of his backstory, we all know he dident fight sasuke with all his power 1st.because he was close to death 2nd. because he wasnt planning to kill sasuke, i would say this goes for the others from konoha he fought too because he cared for the leaf village and 1 of his main priorities (next to sasuke) was the leaf village which is the reason he joined akatsuki, and if he was that strong when fighting them he would obviously be much better if he was going for the kill

I dont think Kisame has a jutsu he can activate quick enough to counter amaterasu.

I wouldn't go so far as to say 50/50, I'd say more like 70/30. Theres no proof that Kisame is immune to Tsukyomi or any genjutsu. And all it takes is one glance to be over And you can't rule out genjutsu + ameratasu. But I'd say Kisame has a shot if he spams that giant water thing and the sharks to block Itachi's line of view

Which contradicts the manga. It was said that only other Uchiha can through Tsukiyomi. Moreover, big chakra doesnt mean much, as Sharingan was able to control insane chakra beings like Bijuu.

Of course not, since Tsukiyomi lasts only second in real world, thats way too little time to do anything. You can break this only from inside like Sasuke, if you are Uchiha that is.

If kisame was to counter and break itachi's countless genjutsu then i agree it would be an interesting fight, since it would most likely take place in a place with water going by kisame's fighting style.

We do know that itachi being a suiton user but also a sharingan user should counter any suiton kisame uses. Katon isnt effective here, but amaterasu is no ordinary katon jutsu. Not even water can extinguish it. Note that kisame isnt fast enough with a speed rating of 4/5.

If he cannot evade A's lariat, he isnt evading amaterasu. Look at it this way. Kisame can evade amaterasu if he swims, but there is one problem. He doesnt have the speed or reaction feat to evade such an attack. As for tsukuyomi, it might be short range, but itachi was able to burst into crows and with great speed came close to sasuke and activated tsukuyomi.

Itachi wins 100% right off the bat. No need to explain sorry. Now i want to ask u narutobase fans something. Why does everyone all of a sudden consider amaterasu an EASILY avoidable technique? everyone just claims right off the bat that the character in the vs thread agaisnt itachi can easily avoid amaterasu. I dont understand why. Do you realize that the amaterasu was claimed as a 1 shot kill impossible to dodge and unavoidable technique right? IT WAS KNOWN TO BE IMPOSSIBLE TO DODGE. Sasuke was standing at the opposite side of the battlefield when raikage dodged it BY AN INCH. AND SASUKE WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BATTLEFIELD. The only 2 characters capable of dodging amaterasu are Raikage in the right situations "which he stated himself saying "in order to dodge it i need to keep looking at his eyes and plan a (was it shunshin?) ahead". and he dodged amaterasu 1 time with sasuke standing on the opposite side of the battlefield. Tobi was hit straight in the face by amaterasu. the man who claimed "he is immune to jutsu". And the joke is im seeing people claiming a character with a 4/5 in speed like kisame or a 4.5/5 like jiraya can dodge tsukuyomi. when a character in yondaimes league considering speed could only dodge it one time by a millimeter in perfect circumstances.....

kisame is a bad match up for itachi, as he can observe chakra, but knowing itachi, he will think of something. I mean, i just do'nt see amaterasu being absorbed, it could be, i just dont see it happening

I understand knowing ones ability, doesn't=the ability to counter. I feel that Kisames's 1000 shark jutsu would be a good offensive attack that would force Itachi to use amaterasu. Itachi wouldn't really have anything else to use this that situation

itachi based on how scared kisame was of him dude uchiha's aren't easy to fight nor beat,but as a what if thing? i would like to see kisame seriously hurt itachi badly and surviving:shrug:.
