LOL it always cracks me up when people make these threads and tries to use *the speed of lightning* as a fact of why this jutsu is so powerful.

FIRST off, lightning strikes ONE spot, and it's not too large of a radius, and requires a LARGE amount of prep time and focus. how would it hit a moving target like the raikage, who is also faster than the reading of the sharingan and can dodge amaterasu?

Second, What if someone doesn't give him the time to conjure up kirin, instead of letting him prepare they blitz him...

Third, What if it's MULTIPLE targets? it can only hit one of them, IE" naruto's shadow clones

AND LASTLY, What if the other user also uses lightning and perhaps maybe they can negate or redirect the jutsu? then what?

Agreed, plus Kirin was stopped by a blind,almost dead,run-out-of-chakra Itachi.On top of everything this waaaaaaay overrated jutsu can only be used ONCE per battle and like many have pointed required a looooooooooond prep time.

Veredict, this Kirin jutsu kind of sucks.There are several more powerful,more useful justsu out there.

That's IF you are fast enough to react within 0.02 seconds, which is basically impossible for even a super human.

Not true. It's highly assumed that Sasuke was going to use it against Team 7 in oro's base. It is probably possible to make out of entirely chakra, but at a huge chakra cost.

if you watch the episode you can see sasuke raising his sword to direct kirin......IMO in that moment one should be able to realize something is coming but this is my opinion....your theory is correct as far as avoiding it which is nearly impossible but kirin being the strongest jutsu i dont think so

I wanna say that this was also during Sasuke's debut, when Kishi debuts ppl he makes them hella strong, like when bee dismantled sasuke with his 7 swords tech, but when he used them against itachi and the other jinx, it was a little sub-par, I highly doubt he can do it without the prolonged prep time.

Its definitely the most powerful Lightning-element jutsu. Its also the considered unavoidable because of the speed at which lightning travels.

However, in terms of destructibility, its power is limited to a specific area. TBB, Jinton, and C0 are fully capable of causing widespread damage on the same or higher level than Kirin.

It also has the longest prep time, where even Jinton can be created and fired faster than Kirin can be formed.

Lol thanks, but I think many people arent considering how deadly it is upon launch. Powerful doesnt mean "big explosions" of such, but rather how it is effective against anyone.

all Edo
All rinnegan users (pretha path absorbs it)
All susano users (just like itachi)
All S/T users ( maybe not tobirama coz we haven't seen his s/t yet)
All earth release users who can coat their body with stone (earth > raiton, and earth/soil armor will connect earth with the human and the lightning would go into earth, this process is called earthing )
All the people who can create raiton armour around themselves ( lightning can't penetrate itself)

hence kirin is not the most powerful jutsu. But it is still second best most powerful raiton jutsu after hellstab.

Kirin is a lightning technique.. Lighting is inferior to wind.. Which means in actuality, rasenshuriken is superior or stronger than kirin..
