Zabuza's mist worked perfectly fine in an open field. Mei puts up a layer of Hidden Mist and a layer of acid cloud. There is absolutely no way for Kimimaro to get close to Mei, and without intel, he walks right into her trap.

Mei's Futton was escaping to the Kage's when a hole occurred in the wall against Sasuke. Hence it's not stationary, hence she had to reduce the acidity of the Futton. Hidden Mist=/=Futton.

Of course it was escaping, it is a sort of gas after all. But that doesn't mean it is useless in open field. Mei used it to partially melt Madara's V3 Susanoo.

What? Hidden Mist is a gas and it's stationary. Futton is completely different, it acts like a normal gas meaning it will leave the location near instantly via dispersion. And Madara's Susano was melted by huge amounts of Yoton, not Futton.

Hm.. T'is true. However, Mei still dies from bone forest whereas Kimimaro will be capable of regenerating his bones. And Acid burns slowly, Kimi's bones regenerate at quick speeds.

The bone forest is the only threat here, but Kimimaro won't use that until the very end, but if even one of Mei's attacks lands, the battle is over.

His bones are not comparable to pure chakra. Bones to not instantly melt to any acid. And do note, it took quite some time for Sasuke's Ribcage to melt. Madara's v3 melting was off panel if memory serves right, so within seconds is baseless.

If he can't see Mei, then Kimimaro would in fact use Bone forest. Kimimaro is highly analytical, he's not jumping into some mist that temporarily blinds him.

Sure the potency of the acid mist won't be that strong and as the distance from Mei increases, the acid mist's effect will rapidly decrease but against Sasuke, Mei only used a small amount of acid mist (

) she stopped spitting out more acid mist even though she was capable of doing such due to not being busy using any jutsu afterwards even though she had the chakra to do so. My point is Mei could have simply used acid mist again, spitting even more acid which she will do in this matchup due to it being an open location. It won't end the match in an instant but it serves three purposes.

1. It blinds Kimimaro, making him unaware of Mei's location.
2. The acid mist has shown that it has a burning effect so Kimi's eyes (further blinding him) and even lungs will start burning up when he inhales the mist.
3. The sizzling effect of acid burns as well as Kimimaro screaming in pain (

So Kimimaro can't use his various bone dances because he can't get close to her due to getting more and more damaged as he comes closer and closer to Mei. ). Her lava is able to do some damage to V3 susanoo so Kimimaro dies from this unless you think Kimimaro is anywhere near V3 susanoo in durability. What makes her lava OP is that not only is it extremely hot but according to the databook, it is also very acidic. A localized Sawarbi no mae like what Kabuto used against the Uchiha bros will take less time to make but it won't be very effective because this is an open location unlike the cave and Kimimaro can't pinpoint Mei's location.

Youton Youkai no Jutsu

Manipulating the strong acid of a large volcanic mud flow to corrode ones flesh.

For Godaime Mizukage it's possible to use the Youton Kekkai Genkai. inside her body, chakra is changed into strong acidic fluid, everything is melted by the dangerous Jutsu. Out of the mouth gushes (blasts) out a quantity of viscous fluid, the shape and amount is at the liberty of the Jutsu's users. When spit forth at short range it's speed drastically increases (I'm pretty sure?), a wall that obstructs ones path, to use in more than one direction is feasible.

Mei can start off with a water dragon instead of acid mist which Kimimaro can either possibly dodge or possibly tank. Whether he does either, the water dragon has two purposes.

1. It blinds Kimimaro and forces him to focus on the water dragon.
2. It allows Mei to use the force of the suiton to propel herself towards Kimimaro's position much like she managed to h

. In that scan I just showed you, Mei gets to Tsunade's position, shooting a wall of water and then shooting a water dragon (red is Tsunade and blue is Mei). While shooting her water dragon, it gives her a propelling force allowing her to propel herself towards the distracted Kimimaro much like how she managed to propel herself behind Madara's susanoo before the water dragon hit Madara's susanoo even though Mei travelled in an arc while the water dragon travelled a much shorter linear distance.

From thereon, Mei will get an opening to hit Kimi with lava and I've already proved Mei's jutsu execution speed in a previous post.

So Mei wins both scenarios with low-mid difficulty.
