Bones being as strong as or stronger than tempered steel doesn't automatically mean it has the same melting point.

On top of that it requires nerves system which it is very sensitive. His bone can only block a fatal attack but bath in lava is kinda impossible when all of his nerves will be burned and nothin but a skeleton left...

Nope, it's 100% possible, bone is stronger than wood and he can regenerate it like Hashirama regenerates Mokuton

His body is the perfect counter to Amaterasu as well
