Nope Senpai ^_^
I am ready to learn:noc:
Thank You for answering my question
Awesome, now we are going to get into the Basic 5 No Kamae stances: Chudan, Jodan, Gedan, Hasso and Waki.

Let's start with Chudan:

Your body:
Your right foot most be in slightly front of your left foot. Your left foot will work as your base support, as you will be standing with the front area of it. Your legs must be parallel to your shoulders, this means your right knee most be in the same Y-axis as your right shoulder, and your left shoulder in the same Y-axis as your right shoulder.
Your back most be straight, though because of your footage, you may seem to be a little inclined forward.

Sword position:
Your sword most be in front of you. With your right hand, you will hold the sword close to the tsuba (hand guard), the hand back of your hand facing outward. Your left hand will be close to end of the tsuka (the handle), the back of the hand facing downward.
Your sword most be inclined above the X-axis from your waist. The tip of the sword will be pointing the eyes, throat or mouth of the opponent. When confronting an opponent with a steel sword the effect is that of an invisible weapon, since the opponent cannot see any part of the blade except for the very tip.

Now that I have explained you this with words, please perform it. We will make an activity afterwards to test your skills with this stance.

Here is an image for you padawans to understand better, in case my wording was too confusing:

Yosh!

I start off by standing straight holding my bokken in my right hand, I then shuffle my left foot backwards, slightly raising the heel after which I automaticly bend my back, remembering senpai's words I straighten my back noticing it isn't that simple to maintain this stance half-assedly, so I put my left foot back down as I take a deep breath shuffling my left foot backwards again as I raise the heel while keeping my back straight

Then I place my bokken infront of me as I shift my right hand to hold onto it near the tsuba while placing my left hand near the end of the tsuka, I then make sure my shoulders are alligned to my legs before I begin alligning the bokken correctly, first I make sure the tip of the hilt is alligned to the lower part of my belt and then I slowly raise the tip of the blade, moving the blade's position from horizental to diagonal until the tip is alligned to my mouth while the tip of the hilt remains alligned to the lower part of my belt.

Great job. Let's wait for you partner to perform his stance correctly.

From your description I cannot see what type of stance you are putting. This can be Chudan or Jodan for what I know of. Be more descriptive in the sword position itself, as it is the most important area you need to cover.

This isn't a race, I will be answering in the same intervals, so you do not need to race to answer this thread. If you feel sleepy, sleep, try to prevent a slopy job. As a kenjutsu user, I espect you to be 100% into this.

~I begin to stand straight with my left foot behind my right foot~
~I have my left heel raised slighty~
~I am holding my bokken with two hands~
~With my right hand is near the tsuba, while my left hand is near the tsuka~
~I begin to align it with my body, I have the back of the handle aligned with my belt, while I have the tip of the blade aligned with my mouth, the angle I am holding the sword is at 45° exactly~

Ok both of you, now is time for the activity. I'm lazy meditating, so I am unable to do the activity with you guys.

Here is the deal, one of you will be in the defensive with a Chudan Stance, and the other one will attack. Then the one in the Chudan Stance will defend against the attack and counter, though without physically hitting the person, just stop your bokken 3 inches before hitting the other.

Then you are going to switch roles, and repeat.

Here is how is going to go:

-Toshiro will be in Chudan Stance.
-Tybone will attack.
-Toshiro will defend then counter.

Then:

-Tybone will be in Chudan Stance.
-Toshiro will attack.
-Tybone will defend then counter.

It will be around 6 posts, staring with Toshiro.

Now, have fun ^^

Sorry for late reply.

~I begin by getting into the Chudan Stance, while watching Tybone carefully~
~I stand straight with my left foot in back of my right foot~
~I have my left heel slightly raised upwards~
~I am already holding my bokken with both hands~
~I have my right hand near the tsuba, while my left hand is near the tsuka~
~I now begin to align it with my body~
~I have the back of the handle aligned with my belt, while I have the tip of the blade aligned with my mouth~
~The angle I am holding the sword is 45°~

I prepare my Chudan stance aswell, placing my right hand near the tsuba with my left hand near the end of the tsuka as I run towards you, slightly adjusting my movement to the right, then as my bokken slides past the left side of your bokken, I whip my bokken 90 degrees to the left, so it's horizentally on top of yours as I forcefully push your bokken down followed by a horizental strike to the right side of your neck, I stop my strike a few inches before it hits.

As I seen Tyboner advance towards me while slightly positioning himself to move towards my left side(His Right), I begin to position my blade diagonally towards him to counter his attack.
Once Tyboner's blade comes into contact with mine, I Push most of my weight against his blade, making it impossible for him to move his sword. I then remove my blade instantly, resulting in his blade hitting the ground, I then aim my sword 45° at his neck, but a few inches away for he wouldn't get cut.

Note: Sorry for late reply, I'll be free more after monday begins since new month.
Also correct me if my move is wrong, or not good enough for a counter or if you just want more details on it.

As you succesfully counter my attack I take a few steps back and prepare my Chudan stance by first holding my bokken with two hands, alligning the back of the hilt with my belt while pointing the bokken upwards alligning the tip with my mouth aswell as placing my left foot behind my right one while slightly raising the heel

Come at me!

I begin to position myself back into my Chudan Stance, and I begin to advance towards Tybone, while moving towards my right(His left), when my wooden blade comes into contact with his I push all my weight against my wooden blade pushing him backwards, as he begins to lose balance I push my bokken near the top of his bokken, resulting in his bokken flying out of his hands landing on the ground near him. I then aim my wooden blade at his neck but inches away so he doesn't get Splinters.

As your bokken nearly touches mine I shift the position of my bokken 90 degrees towards the left, so that I am now holding it horizentally, a moment before your bokken clashes with mine I release my left hand and place my palm against the top of the dull side of the bokken's blade, providing a high amount of support as your bokken clashes with mine.
Using the extra support I have provided my defense I forcefully push my bokken upwards in a 45 degrees angle, knocking your bokken away from me as I smoothly slide my bokken down until it reaches my waist, from which I send a horizental strike to yours, stopping my strike several inches before it connects

Fairly well.

Both of you have natural talent, I can clearly see that, but you are still jewels in the rough. If I should guess, I can estimate that both of you discussed this outside this thread to understand each others moves. This happens because the description you use isn't clear enough. You lack body movement, you don't seem to realize that there can potentially be different ways you could have been standing or moving when making a strike or defending. This gives a whole bunch of openings to much more experienced kenjutsu masters. But do not falter, as for your first exercise, this was an excellent example of two prodigies.

So from your observations, what are the weaknesses and strengths of this particular stance?

I can't really say I learned alot about the weaknesses and strengths with this little spar O_O but I'm here to learn U_U

Anyway, what I do know is that the Chudan stance is a versatile stance, it enables the user to position his sword correctly to defend from most types of attacks although it does have a disadvantage against attacks that come from above with alot of strength.

I guess I did mention atleast one strength and one weakness there

Exactly what Tybone said kind of, I just can't seem to find a weakness or strength from out fight since I am a failure student.
So I will go with what training does. Training helps improves the users ability in a certain area to the maximum level, as well as testing to see what the user already knows, and finding any weaknesses and strength through the process.

Ok then...

*Hits toshiro's head with the bokken*
That is for not even trying, and NEVER call yourself a failure student. I shall not accept negativism in a kenjutsu training. It is hard work, so you should always be positive when trying to become better.

As I was saying, the strengths of this stance that you are able to cover from almost every angle, this being upward, middle, and under attacks. You are able to give yourself a boost of confidence as the enemy has to plan carefully how to strike, as it could cost him the match.

The weaknesses is that this stance wasn't designed for offensive purposes, but for counter-attacks and excellent defensive maneuvers. This stance doesn't let you give a lot of power toward a swing, but it will help you defend against an attack much more easier. If someone attacks you from above, you can put the blade upward, and as the blade makes contact, you can do a quick side step (which you will learn more about later), and counter attack as the enemy continues his strike. Middle body attacks can be defended pretty easily with this, you made some examples of it. Under attacks can be stopped by a quick move, etc. It comes with experience ^^

So, recapitulating this stance, always use it as a counter attack measurement.

Any questions?

Ok then, let's get going with the Jodan Stance:

Jodan:

Your body:
Your body settings are very similar to Chudan no Kamae. Your left foot most be in front of your right foot, wide. You will incline your right foot a little, ready to make a step, your weight will be in your rear foot. Your knees and shoulders need to be parallel with each other. Your back most be straight, as it will contain your explosive power to swing downwards.

Your sword position:
Your sword most be above your head. With your right hand, you will hold the sword close to the tsuba, the back of your hand facing upward. Your left hand will be close to end of the tsuka, the back of the hand facing outward.
The sword most be between 3-5 inches apart from your head. If seen from the end of the handle, your sword most be 135 degrees from the X-axis is creating (45 degrees backwards).

Chudan kamae is the most fearsome of kamae. It is both an open invitation for the opponent to foolishly try to strike at the abdomen, yet a deadly trap because the person in jodan kamae can easliy strike and cut men or kote. When a steel sword is used the effect is that of an invisible weapon since only the cutting edge is seen by the opponent. This will cause great fear in the opponent, and doubt of the distance from the where you are.

Now that you understand this, please perform the stance, in detail. (Not copy paste my description either).

Here is an image (the second image is a slight variation of Jodan, but still falls into Jodan no Kamae):

I place my left foot in front of my right foot but a little more to the left keeping more space between my legs while having my left foot in front of my right foot still.
My legs are opened wide enough so each knee aligns with each of my shoulders making them parallel to each other.
I then begin to try and position my back 90degrees, making it as straight as possible.
Soon After getting my body in the correct position, I begin to hold my sword with both of my hands on the handle.
I have my right hand near the Tsuba, while my left hand is near the end of the tsuka.
I begin to hold the sword semi above my heard with the end of the Tsuka aligned with my forehead, while the Tsuba is aligned with the top of my head. The blade of the sword should be at a 45 degree angle now.
