Kamui is the only technique to retain its Databook and Manga Hype.

If the Kamui's property and effect get in "touch" with Yata, i.e. starts the process of removing it from a reality, Yata adapts its attributes to Kamui and negates it. At least, it's how I'm gathering all these things.

Well, I'm gathering it by saying that kamui doesn't actually touch Yata, it moves the space around it, honestly, either Kamui cannot be defended against, or Yata has an untreatable defense, it can't be both, I'm going with the more logical argument.

Think of kamui as a transportation jutsu like FTG, once the seal is on it the shield will move with it, it can't defend against being moved.

Long ranged kamui most likely wouldn't work due to it's properties, rather than transporting an object it "rips" it out of the dimension. But that's not to say that a long ranged kamui large enough can't just warp the entire susanoo.

Short ranged on the other hand is different since the whole object gets warped instead of just a portion.

I understand what you're saying, but if it can adapt itself to any sort of attack, it can counter it. Going by logic from the official description of it.

Trust me I'm one of the only advocates for yata left who actually believes in it's hype, I wouldn't say it can't if it honestly made no sense.

The shield needs to be attacked, but kamui doesn't attack it it just moves it. if minato had his seal on itachi's shield then he could logically do the same. Yata can't defend against being taken from one place to another because nothing is trying to bypass it, just relocate.

The incorrect remarks in that thread is the fact that the OP thinks that Susanoo and Yata mirror are linked by the same material which is wrong since Yata adapts to any attribute of the attack which is stated in a simple sentence. Second thing is comparing Amaterasu and his assumption to Kamui as there is no evidence of Amaterasu's technicalities to that extent. It's just a point of view. Similar to every user in this topic.

I copy-pasted the definition of the word "attack". The best synonym for that word is "invasion". Kamui invades another space and alters it, in an other words, it attacks it. That's how I understand it.

I thought this was common sense u.u

I think we have gotten a final piece of evidence which will settle this debate once and for all

You must be registered for see images

Notice here that sasuke's body was trapped in ice, he was surrounded by ice on all sides including the front
And yet he uses amaterasu to make the flames materialize some distance away from him, through the solid ice

You must be registered for see images

Kamui and Amaterasu are similar in the sense that they both operate on the same method, line of sight, as long as the user can see the target (provided his vision is not very weak) he can use it on him

You must be registered for see images

"...using the mangekyo sharingan kakashi is able to specify the barrier's location and size at will..."

It doesnt matter whether there is an object in between, as long as kakashi is able to see through it (susanoo), he will be able to materialize (make) the barrier even beyond that
And the barrier will be able to suck the target

You must be registered for see images

In essence it will be like this

You must be registered for see images

*Amaterasu bypassing susanoo

You must be registered for see images
You must be registered for see images

Note:
  • Itachi's susanoo is golden in color in the manga [ ]
  • Kamui's barrier is directly attacking Itachi ignoring the susanoo

Susanoo is useless, Yata is useless

GG all around

You must be registered for see images

Exactly, and, another problem with Yata, it's basically featless, all it's done is blocking explosive tags and Kirin, that's it, kamui on the other hand bypassed the logical true ultimate defense of the Naruto-verse (omyoudon).

My only argument is actually understanding a single word and a descriptive sentence.

My argument is going based on what was shown, by all intents and purposes, omyoudon is a better defense, being as it does everything Yata is said to do, with the added bonus that it could wrap around and change shape to complete encase it's user Ina shield, yet it could not defend against kamui, logic would dictate that Yata could not either.

Onmyoudon was never said to adapt itself to attacks, only defend by them. Which is why it failed against Kamui. It's little details that make logic fallible or correct.

How would Yata adapt to kamui, then, would it suddenly gain the ability to exist in nothing (if kamui warps space, and the space around Yata is gone, Yata is basically existing in a void =/= physics)?

I'm not trying to prove you wrong, I'm just stating the obvious logic in a simple sentence that people ignore. Kamui is an attack and Yata supposedly changes its attributes to any attribute of any attack. I don't know the detailed mechanics of how the process of those two subjects clashing would go. I'm just deducing things with my understanding.

Except, by its definition, kamui isn't an attack, it's a teleportation technique, while it can be used as an attack, it's still a teleportation technique, that's basically the same argument as the guy that argued that omyoudon could negate kamui.

It's not the same. You don't pass it as attack because it doesn't have the conventional effect. But going by the definition and the meaning of the exact word, Kamui distorts and alters space by attacking it, by attacking actual space. It sounds ridiculous, but going by Yata's description, any attribute applies, even this ridiculous one.

Meh, I doubt it's meant to be taken that literally but that's just my opinion.

But, it's not attacking Yata then, it's attacking space, by your standards, Yata should be able to defend the entire Earth, even the universe.

But Yata is the part of that space. In a sense, yes, Yata should be able to defend against anything. I mean that's how it's described, not by my standards. I'm just elaborating the words used.
