Kakuzu's earth spear is overated

I made this to point out that people often exaggerate how strong this jutsu is.

It states that the user flows chakra through his body to increase his body's defense power to it's absolute limits by making his skin as hard as diamond. While this is obviously a difficult technique to break through, even diamond, the hardest substance, has limitations to what it can handle.

He is not impervious to harm when hardened. If he were, then Hashirama would not have been able to defeat him in the first place.

This jutsu, like all others, must have a weakness. After all, Kakuzu doesn't use it 24/7. He's not the type to get cocky and take chances, so I'm betting that either the chakra flow required is very taxing, or he gets brittle and can't move nearly as well or much at all when completely hardened. Unless I'm wrong, the only times he moved while using this technique is when it was only a partial hardening. Do show me a page if I'm wrong.

It's not overrated never once have I seen someone overrate it. It's great tech and obvious not unbeatable so I don't get the point of your thread.

The jutsu is more than strong enough to deal with weaker jonin, but high level jonin, especially kage, would be able to deal with it

the only one whe have seen using it is Kakuzu...though..he was not fast at all with the earth Spear..cauze..some could easy dodge it and..there are many more attacks that can counter it like
| Rasengan | Chidori/ Raikiri ETC...

Read akatsukichurch's Kakuzu vs Minato thread and a recent thread of Tsunade Vs Kakuzu. People overrate it there. I'm not saying people in general overate it, just that there have been people in those threads that claim that it's indestructible. I'll see if I can change the poll to is it indestructible or has no weakness.

I doubt a normal rasengan can break it, lightning release obviously can though s it's the tech weakness. Not many things can "break" through the jutsu but there are way to get around it and it doesn't make Kakauzu unbeatable.

Hashirama beating him doesn't mean Hashi broke through it. Genjutsu and other techs are way around it earth grudge fear is one of the best defensive tech in the series. top3

Not overrated at all, it isn't his ultimate ability but it is true that it basically makes him immune to normal taijutsu and a large majority of jutsu, nothing to be degraded there.

The strength of it is that he uses it in combination with other attacks, like when he combines it with his great taijutsu abilities and sent Chouji flying effortlessly. The guy is just strong and needs a form of defence when his battle style literally involves him sending his hearts out to fight.

He didnt have it for the Hashi fight. And its limitation is that you cant move any part that is hardened. It is a extremely powerful defensive jutsu

I dont know how to access databook pages, but ive seen it pulled up and its stated in there. So if he hardens his entire body to deal with an attack, he cant move until he cancels the jutsu

No, Domu is not overrated. U_U Everything has a weakness and Domu has one. It's Raiton. Nothing else.

This is exactly the overrating I'm talking about. It's diamond hard, it wouldn't take something as ridiculously strong as particle style to overcome it. Diamond just isn't that strong.

They just recently found a substance harder than diamond. The only way to even scratch diamond is with another diamond. It is insanely strong. What else could destroy it besides raiton or extremely OP jutsu like jinton?

No, this is not overrating Domu. With it Kakuzu can tank most things out there except some hax jutsu and Raiton.
