Gamaken's shield is not made of wood, if it were made of wood, the Animal Path's bird would have broke right through it.

If I remember right from my research on Jiraiya and his summons for the debate tournament, it's made like a saucer from a sake set(not that it is a saucer, obviously...just shaped like one), which are generally made out of ceramic. But that still wouldn't make sense as ceramic would also not be likely to withstand that kind of force.

Whatever it is, it can take anything any of the masks would hit it with. It wasn't even scratched by the Animal Path's bird.

Are you saying its more durable then rock? because Kakuzu's raiton is capable of piercing through boulders

Yes, it's likely more durable than rock.

And when did Kakuzu's raiton pierce through a boulder? Was it during the Edo fight? Haven't ever actually ever took the time to read/pay close attention to that fight. Skimmed over it when the chapters for that part of the war were coming out, haven't went back to it since.

can't one simply concentrate their chakra towards their feet and walk on top of it, as they do with water?! I don't see why not, especially since this jutsu has only been used against snakes.

With the boss summon Jiraiya gets enough time to go into sage mode, then he can use whatever long techs he needs and use his rasengan if kakuzu makes a mistake, and punish him with Swamp of the underworld if kakuzu ever goes passive.

Summons are overrated. Kakuzu Needs one Punch to knock Gamaken 50 meters away. If Jiraiya somehow manages it to get into Sage-Mode, it becomes hard for Kakuzu. But on the other Hand Jiraiya has to stab each of Kakuzus hearts, when he doesnt have the knowledge about his hearts to the right time, the same as before could happen, when Pain got Jiraiyas arm.
