I'm saying he used maybe the water source created by his suiton suijinheki to make his next suiton suiryudan more powerful. What you're are forgetting is that suiryudan is also a jutsu Kakashi possess.
He didnt he spit more water out of his mouth and every water release person can create sution it depends on the person how big they could make it, like sasuke with his fire ball it was weak at first then he trained and it got bigger and his daddy approved.
He didn't use his mouth to use his second suiton jutsu(suiton suiryudan). He only used his mouth for his suiton suijinheki, and for this jutsu we always use the mouth(like Kakashi do also) even with his mask xd
For the power i understand what you mean, but i'm saying that nothing prove Kakashi can't do. After all their suiton suijinheki have at least the same size and they have the same jutsus. So my problem is that, you can't attest he can't.
Itachi hadn't shown Susanoo in part1. So he couldn't. He hadn't shown Izanami. So he couldn't. 2nd hokage hadn't shown Edo tensei. So he couldn't. Kakashi had never shown lightning wolf before he fought against Pain. So he could not. He had never shown raiden. So he couldn't. I can still go like that if you want...

Kakashi is one of the all time great characters. "Great" nothing more.
I love Kakashi more than most characters and would head his fan club if i had the energy to start one.
But let's face facts. His chakra is gobbled up when he uses the Sharingan, simply because his body wasn't made for it. In theory, he would be able to one shot anyone with Kamui, but who's really gonna get caught by Kamui with full awareness of the jutsu? Not many people. Kakashi is indeed a deadly opponent, no doubt. His name obviously carries weight, but he isn't too special. He is a strategist. Only to be outdone by the Nara's, (In terms of leaf ninja.) He has plenty of jutsu to choose from and the intelligence to time it. Making combos that are overwhelming, but he doesn't have to chakra to drag on a long fight. IMHO, if Kakashi had more chakra, he would be on par with Itachi, but he doesn't. You cant get much stronger than your chakra reserves will allow. It's near self destructive. Kakashi is a support character, it's what he does. If you have him on your side going into battle your chances of coming out alive are much higher.
He is "over-rated" because he is seen fighting more than alot of characters. Or rescuing those in need. He is insightful, sharp, and strong. So much that he is candidate for Hokage, which he became in Tsunade's absence.
As to whether or not he could beat the Kages... Maybe. Not definate at all though.

kakashi to me is the gauge of shinobi standard of the series. he is IMO the level that all main protagonist of the series should overcome to achieve greatness

i think kakashi could beat that lava girl and tsunade. Also if he is the standard that you should overcome why is he a general in the war and not gai or someone. Everyone in the show acknowleges kakashi's strength. Its just that some people only try to back him up by only saying kamui to the head lol thats pointless. at least say he is the son of the white fang. became chunin at a young age. survived that horrible war. copied hella jutsu's, made chidori, showed naruto how to master futon rasengan, can use more than 1 element and can use mangekyo sharingan even though he isnt uchiha.

I voted Hashirama, but that doesn't mean i have a low opinion of Kakashi. . . he may not be as powerful as he should be because of his low chakra. Buut i do believe he has saved the day and held his own enough to be shown some respect!

Hey buddy id just like to say kakashi can pretty much go toe to toe with anyone so i dont see why you think he is overated in fact he is underated. He cant beat everyone but has the potential to beat almost anyone and can keep up with the best of them. He is always fighting people stronger than himself and you know why he kicks ass because he is a damn great ninja
