There is a fail here, but it's not Kakashi.

Kakashi isn't a failure he's one of the best tatical fighter in the series, it's just people seem to over hype kakashi in every situation they just give him much more credit then he should really have.

I think about it this way.

Kakashi is a support role. He doesn't have the best stamina, but has great techs.

My Thinking:

Massive chakra/stamina = Tanking role

Good Chakra control/medical ninjutsu = Healing role

Op techs. that require lots of chakra/stamina, but the person doesn't have great Chakra/stamina = Support Role

BTW I thought about in a World of warcraft way.

To me Kakashi is like a rogue: he is powerful with a large arsenal and can not be taken out easily, but not as difficult to handle compared to a Warrior/paladin: Guy, naruto, etc.

Thats how I view to be honest.

Would have been better to say Damage per second instead of support role... as his role is to cause the most amount of Damage in the shortest time possible... xd

I used to be a hardcore Kakashi fan back in part 1 but in Shippuden he is shown very weak.

1. He got captured by Zabuza in that Water Bubble
2. Gets bedridden for a week after using a normal Sharingan against Zabuza.
3. Taught Sasuke Chidori, which he is misusing now
4. Gets frightened when he is about to fight Orochimaru (when he sealed sasuke's curse seal)
5. He could have helped bring Sasuke back only if he used brains: when sasuke was leaving konoha, after Naruto vs. Sasuke, Kakashi comes to take back Sasuke but finds fainted Naruto. He could have made a Shadow Clone to send Naruto back to village and himself could have gone further for sasuke.
6. Again gets bedridden for a week after using MS twice or thrice.
7. Had hard time against Kakuzu
8.Gets 'killed' against Pain

What are your opinions?

1. He only got caught due to the fact that Kakashi was worried about Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura.

2. At that time, he had to use a lot of chakra on Zabuza(Water Dragon, Raikiri) which he doesn't do that much well you know, AT that time.

3. Kakashi teaching Sasuke the Chidori doesn't even relate to him as you claim that he is a "failure", Sasuke is using the Chidori HIS WAY, not the way that Kakashi wants him to use it.

4. At that time, Orochimaru was a big threat. He was in a sense healthy(he fought against the 3rd hokage, member?) So yes, even up to the point in Naruto Arc II Shippuden, Kakashi would still be scared of him but not that much.

5. If Kakashi would've did that, as you said, he wouldn't need Pakkun(his scent dog) to help him find the scent of Sasuke. I mean Kakashi's nose is already shown to be (correct me if I am wrong) 1000x stronger than Kiba's. Plus the scent of the rain "washed" away Sasuke's scent.

6. Using the MS and the regular Sharingan are totally two different things. The Regular one, through time, you will get mastery over it and use it like a regular normal eye as the MS actually makes you blind after sometime you use it, which is why there is a EMS.

7. Kakuzu knew many S-rank jutsus. Anyone would've had a hard time with him. He also knew the top fire jutsu(where the water and fire "heart" that Kakuzu had combined together to do their jutsu). Kakuzu was on another level, which is why he lived so long. I mean the majority of people would've had a hard time against Kakuzu as well due to the fact that he was on Kage level.

8. You have to understand that the Peins were not living. So it would be really hard in order to "kill" one. Almost everyone from Konoha had big problems with Pein because they were NONE LIVING. Also, that would mean that a healthy Nagato would've done more damage but since he was weak he wasn't able to do it. I digress from the topic at hand.

Anyway, the points that you've stated are pretty much invalided and would just be based upon opinion, when there were FACTS at hand.
