Hmmm....I see some ppl saying Kabuto had no intention to kill. If so...why did he use lethal attacks upon Itachi? Attacks that would have surely marked the end of Itachi had he been alive, no? You are always putting Itachi at a disadvantage, if Itachi is alive, in that time Kabuto would have not been a sage. You can't just put prime Kabuto vs normal Itachi unless stated in the thread.
Alive Itachi is better than Kabuto at the time they were both alive

The manga disagrees.
We never saw Kabutomaru beat Itachi but we saw Itachi defeat Kabutomaru, without an intent to kill.
But of course, Kabuto no longer has Orochimaru's power, I doubt that he has the power to use SM, since his own power was never anything special as we saw when he got pawned by Genin Naruto.
