Eh, not really. It's more of a forced flaw on the author's behalf to make the character easier to relate to as well as to push common Shonen themes (friendship is what everyone needs), when in actuality it back fired slightly, since people admitting their flaws completely like that is a rare thing even in real life. It takes too much maturity, something most people lack.
Truth be told, not confiding in Sasuke was the smartest thing to do. An 8 year old is in no way going to change the minds of an entire clan who doesn't even desire to talk to avoid conflict. Especially when said 8 year old doesn't even understand what a coup entails. Itachi was just being hopeful and it was Kishimoto's way of showing that he could view Sasuke as an equal instead of a little one he had to protect.
Yes, it does hurt. So, it's bad in that regard. However, the problem here is that this isn't much of a character flaw considering that he had no one knowledgeable about the situation to confide to at any point in his lifetime, he had no option but to go it alone if he wanted to save everyone (village, clan lineage, clan honor, Sasuke, prevent war, etc). Confidence when there are no better options isn't necessarily bad. It's a great thing. It has drawbacks in that it made him suffer, very much so. Then again, he was never the type to complain and didn't once in this entire manga (which is in stark contrast to every other character).

His summons aren't scrubs, especially Bunta, plus it's not like Itachi can spam Tsukuyomi, it's already been shown he can't use it multiple times, it puts too much strain on his eyes.
How so? I can't ignore the fact that he wasn't evil, but that wasn't stopping him from fighting anyone from Konoha. Hell he put Kakashi and Sasuke in the Hospital for a long period of time.

It wasn't until Itachi was Edo'd that he realized his mistakes (he saw the final outcome of his actions) & told Sasuke himself that he overestimated Itachi & that he failed Sasuke. Itachi wanted to walk in darkness & do everything alone & in that he made his worst possible, costing the lives of his entire clan & family. Guess he wasn't so "Almighty" after all heh? XD Itachi was a great character, but people acting as if he was God of the shinobi world is tiring. He isn't innocent, isn't unstoppable, has the WORST stamina for a Uchiha & just isn't what the fanboys crack him up to be, but don't argue. Let them believe what they want. It's fiction after all.

Well at that moment, yes he was evil. He cut off all his emotions and became a cold hearted killer. However, for him, he was given no other options really, it was either he did the deed himself, so his little brother could live or Danzo's Anbu core does the job themselves, leaving no survivors. Plus the clan was plotting against the village and the only peaceful way for to end the crisis was demolished by Danzo. Part of the blame goes to leaf's higher ups for letting Danzo do his thing and not finding a peaceful way to smooth things over. Itachi's problem was that he thought he could solve everything on his own, which led him to the decision to slaughter the clan so his littler brother may live and civil war could be prevented. His motives were just, but his actions were unjust.
Naruto spent 2.5 years under Jiraiya's tutelage. He used the technique Jiraiya taught him and it was proven completely ineffective. And this was just for 3-tomoe genjutsu.
Jiraiya has to have toads already summoned. Animals can get caught in genjutsu as well (crows, snakes ie: Manda have in the past). The frogs get caught and Jiraiya is out of luck.
Naruto was maybe not that great at that genjutsu chakra disturbing technique as Jiraiya yet, seeing
how Naruto still couldnt do 1handed Rasengan after 2.5 years either.
Its not hard to summon toads mid battle.
Also that frog stomache he can summon, Itachi needs to Amaterasu that to get out/in and Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu are not spammable for Itachi,
so that is another way, on top of the other ways to deal with Amaterasu.
Some frogs can use senjutsu as well, as you have seen Gamakichi do vs Obito.
So they wont be caught by genjutsu, because they can fight with their eyes closed.
Same goes for Ma and Pa frog when Jiraiya is in SM.
Besides, they can even get each other out, however that is not needed.

-No, what Sasuke wanted to become was vastly different from what Itachi was.
-Worst crap possible is making him hate you by showing him a 24 hr genjutsu? Sasuke got off pretty light. He had friends for years and was adored by everyone. Sasuke chose his own path.
-The bold doesn't make sense.
-He didn't cost the lives of his family. Funny enough, the last two databooks and even the manga state that the Konoha echelons (Hiruzen included) and the Uchiha themselves are at fault for the clan's death. They also state that Itachi helped both sides in the only possible way, considering he prevented conflict and kept Uchiha honor/lineage intact.
-No character is "Almighty" or perfect. And no one legitimately believes he's "God of Shinobi".

No, Itachi surpassed him once he awakened MS. That guy lost to a 72 year old with a cane. Lol Shisui doesn't compare to the 4 main Uchiha (Madara, Sasuke, Obito, Itachi) though he was good for his time.

Itachi burned the surrounding forest with Amaterasu while about to die in his fight with Sasuke. Jiraiya doesn't have unlimited chakra either, at which point he will be attacked for pausing and attempting to acquire more.
Depends upon how decent their sensory abilities are. We don't know much about them.

Not being able to do a one handed Rasengan in those 2.5 years or 3 years, shows that Naruto hasnt perfected everything yet, so that could be the case for disturbing chakra to get out of genjutsu as well. Meaning Jiraiyas skill at it, could be much higher. Which is likely, cause it was said that Naruto improved at disturbing his chakra. Never was it said that he perfected that technique.
