Hmmm.. Well, what your suggesting is that cats and dogs are not of equal worth to us right? Either way, cruelty towards animals is a fact, and by definition, they have some worth, as felt by many I'm sure. But as you say, exactly WHAT people see in them, might be mysterious indeed!

@ImmaculateShadow: Holy! That's a lot of text, but I suppose I'm right in saying that it's about the number of cats and dogs being put out have decreased? If so, then that's good. Still, it's a lot, but USA is a big country, so I suppose one should think proportionally, as they put it in the article; 12.5(something) per 1000 inhabitants.

I guess your not the Kiba Inuzuka kind of guy. I felt the same when when I was 21-22 yrs.

Now, after 7 years, that I've bonded with several animals, studied buddhism and now own my cat (First pet ever!) I have complete respect for other living beings

The way they're doing it in may not be humane, but it's probably a better solution than having them roam the streets, considering how deep into the sh*t they've dived now.
