The purpose of Izanami is punish the misusers of Izanagi or people who do not accept themselves and make them choose right path. It is not meant to be used against someone like Jiraya or Minato.

I haven't read any comments in between so excuse me if i am repeating this.

The criteria IS different... the uchihas had to realize they can't run from their mistakes..

while kabuto has to realize he can't become someone else, and he isn't all powerful...

The criteria is the same. Both the Izanagi spammers and Kabuto thought they
were invincible, couldn't fail, changed personalities, etc, and in reality they did not accept their destiny.

Izanami is a powerful (but specific) tool that is 100% effective in the right situation. Calling it useless is like complaining that you can't eat your cereal with a hammer (you should probably try a spoon). The right tool for the right job. Without Izanami, the 5 nations would loose this war and the moon's eye plan would become a reality (or Kabuto would kill Tobi and take over the world).

I was right; it’s extremely situational and can basically only be used on misguided people, who are going through an identity crisis. Read:

Kabuto is literally one of the only ones it would have worked on, Itachi recognized this because he saw himself in good old Kabuto, and since he was already dead, it didn’t really matter whether he lost an eye or not. He also had Sasuke as backup.

Anyway, I shouldn’t have to say that this is absolute useless against people like Minato and Jiraiya. This is also forgetting about the hitting the opponent twice, chakra requirements, and the loss of some of the strongest MS techniques.

Izanami can be uses in a fight. Itachi said that its not ideal to use it because it ha a huge weakness and the weakness is that its a genjutsu that allows the victim to escape if thwy choose the right path.

It can be used on anyone.

And proof that it can be used in a fight is evident of itachi vs kabuto. They were fighting right? And itachi used it.

Its not just for people with identity crisis its intended original purpose was to use on izanagi spammers but kabuto isnt an izanagi spammer now is he? No he isnt. Again izanami can be used on anyone
