The reason he was going blind was because of Ms when you unlock it/use it, it slowly makes the user go blind
As you saw in the sasuke vs itachi fight u got a view of what itachi was seeing and sasuke was a bluur

yes,if Itachi is that strong,then why are fanboys always trying to put him aginst Nagato or Minato?if he is really stronger than them,then why compare it to them all the time,maybe because inside you feel they are above him and you are trying to prove the opposite .

You Uchiha fanboys really like hyping up itachi to make him stronger than he really is. Itachi isn't even close to being the strongest ninja ever. We had a thread similar to this a couple days ago saying Itachi was stronger than all of the Hokages, which once again isn't true. Enough of these Itachi threads.

The only thing the illness did to itachi was he wasnt able to use his chakra well for real fight. When he got low on chakra the sickness started to make him spit out blood and what not.
As for the powers themselve, illness or not how powerful they are isnt affected.
Only his stamina was was affected, alot people tend to overplay his illness to everything like his abilties are less powerful but thats not the case. He couldn't fight for long at a top level. He is low chakra shinobi like kahashi as it is, it diffinity hurt him alot.
This is bit like when tsuande posioned jiraiya and he could use his chakra very well aswell.

I thought once you gain MS, your eyesight depleted. But if you get someone else's then that stops, reguardless if they had the MS or not. Okay, so here's my question: Does the MS continue to weeken your eye sight after a transplant?

well wht i understand from this is tht the condition of itachi when he aint sick by the disease (which kept a check on his chakra level .....atleast according to my assumptions)
and the condition of itachi where he would easily kill sasuke(anytime anywhere...nt even worth mentionin) and obtain the eternal power, the eternal mangekyou sharingan....
