Tobi says: 'coincidentally, around the same time...' He then says itachi found me out. Its obvious just prior to the massacre is when Itachi first met Tobi, and tobi was head/founder of akatsuki so how could he have clashed with oro at 11 when he did'nt join Akatsuki until at least 13+ years of age?

Tobi spells it out right there. Slaughtering the whole clan, then fleeing the village, then living as a wanted criminal. Meaning first he kills the clan, then joins the Akatsuki. Basic intuition from reading these pages.

The 1 year bit you showed would validate it, sure but these other pages definitely seem to contradict it.Also, this whole theory rests on 2 pages, and the statements made by 2 Akatsuki members. There was a thread i once saw about how a statement/s of charcters are'nt gonna always be reliable especially when there are other manga pages contradicting them. But i get your point, now try to explain how you disprove my 1st post in this thread.

THIS is what iv'e been trying to tell you...when itachi met tobi there, it didn't have to be 13....Itachi didn't get the mission at 13,hokage tried to stop it etc etc .....All that didn't happen at 13.....

Itachi started acting weird as soon as he got into anbu....thats exactly what his father and those police officers said....He entered anbu at like 10...shortly after becoming a chuunin...

And if he started acting weird half a year after joining anbu, which was 10....Thats when he would have started double spying.....and got the mission.....It's basic common sense....
.He found Tobi, told him about the plan etc......Said he'd keep his existence a secret, if you help me kill my clan and it was most likely here he made him put him in akatsuki, seeing that he knew he was the true leader of akatsuki......The deal was for akatsuki to never attack Konoha as long as itachi was alive.......Yet how do you think itachi got a mission to go to Konoha? Because he had TOBI as his bitch......tobi would order pain to send itachi on w.e mission he asked....Now aroudn age 12, itachi was still double agenting, Hokage was trying different methods to stop the coup......Itachi would have told shishui about everything.....Age 13 shishui accepting his nearby death gives danzo 1 eye, gives itachi other, itachi kills shishui .....Itachi unlocks mangekyou......later down the year, Tobi and itachi meet up and kill the clan.... then he leaves and join permanently..... Do you seriously think the entire double agent process, negotiations, finding tobi, all of that happened in a few months?

Its really kind of astonishing to see the extent to which some people go to to prove their points on a cartoon. His age doesn't really matter I think. The manga has shown that the new generations have gotten stronger at an earlier age for a while now, whatever the reason. Read the whole manga for examples. Any ways in conclusion I vote we just enjoy the manga and not worry about minor details that really change nothing at all.

You are all basing your theories on the ENGLISH translation of a Japanese manga. Now, as someone who is actually attempting to learn Japanese, it is sooo easy to misunderstand exactly what is being implied. <- notice I said "implied".

Can we be certain that the english translations are absolutely correct? Or is there some flexibility on meaning?

Which will make Itachi 12 years old at the time he joined ANBU. They said he was acting strange for the six months he joined the ANBU and Shisui monitored him. He became an ANBU commander when he was 13 which would put it within that six months. We know that when 'time ran out for negotiations' Itachi was in the ANBU already meaning negotiation were carried out in those six months when Itachi was in ANBU and turned 13 and was promoted, meaning that the village found out from Itachi about the Uchiha's plan within that six months, then they gave him the mission to be carried out if Hiruzen's peace talks failed, meaning that the idea of destroying the Uchiha clan only came when Itachi joined the ANBU at above 12 going on 13, Tobi said he approached him with the idea of destroying the clan in revenge meaning that by then Konoha knew about Uchiha's plan and were considering their destruction and through Tobi, Itachi found out about Akatsuki since he knew Tobi was the real leader and even knew Tobi's plan to use Zetsu in war. Tobi trained him in that six months. Bottom line- all Tobi dealing was when he was already an ANBU at above 12 going on 13,meaning he DEFINITELY wasn't 11 when he fought Orochimaru. I'm gonna lean toward 13. Orochimaru isn't just looking for an Uchiha but a strong Uchiha as seen when he fought Sasuke in part 1 to test him. If he was looking for an Uchiha and Itachi joined Akatsuki before they were massacred then he could have gone to kidnap one from Konoha since there was a whole clan of them but when the one who reputedly killed the rest of the clan single handedly appeared in Akatsuki, there was no doubt that he was strong and Orochimaru saw a chance.

That proves when itachi joined anbu, sasuke didn't even learn the fire jutsu yet...

Here's the facts
Sasuke just completed his first semester at the academy, that's less than a yearright? Then he got his report card, his Dad was indifferent
That night Itachi and his dad were talking abt the whole pipeline stuff and a meeting the next day
The next day Itachi and Shisui missed the meeting and went on a secret mission
The day after the meeting, Sasuke showed Itachi the report then Itachi told him the whole I am a wall...blah,blah,blah then those Uchiha idiots came to ask Itachi about the meeting the previous day. They said within half a year of joining ANBU his speech was getting strange

CONCLUSION- he'd been in ANBU just six months and this is proven by the fact that Sasuke just completed a semester in academy. We know Sasuke entered Academy when Itachi entered ANBU since his Academy entrance ceremony was the same day of Itachi's mission that promoted him to A
NBU.

More Facts-
Itachi and his father weren't speaking. Their father passed Itachi and met Sasuke and asked him about classes. He said he was best then his father took him to the river and showed him the fireball tech, he couldn't do it and then trained(for a week according to databook) and showed his father. His father was proud of him. Sasuke then voiced his concern that he was just a replacement of his brother to his mother a few days after his father commended him then his father came in the room and he asked his father about Mangekyo Sharingan then went to school and came back to find his clan dead.

CONCLUSION-Sasuke's father asked him about classes meaning he had entered another semester. It would be safe to say it was a year or more since Sasuke entered the Academy(also the amount of time Itachi has been in ANBU since it was around the same time Itachi joined ANBU that Sasuke entered Academy) he trained the fireball tech for a week since his father asked about classes and mastered and showed it to his father, his mouth was injured from the training. This makes it still a little over a year since he entered Academy and Itachi joined ANBU since its only a week difference. Itachi massacred the clan at above 13, since according to databook there's a 5 year difference between Sasuke and Itachi, Sasuke was 8 when the clan was massacred. Databook stated that Sasuke was 7 when he mastered the Fireball meaning that a year passed since Sasuke mastered the fireball, at the time Sasuke Mastered the Fireball, it was a little over a year since he entered Academy, at the time of the massacre another year was added to that meaning that Sasuke had spent two years in the academy when Itachi massacred the clan.
Itachi had also spent two years in ANBU since he joined around the time Sasuke entered Academy. If he spent two years that means he was 11 when he joined ANBU, this makes sense as Sasuke mastered the Fireball tech when he was just about a year as an academy student making him 6 years old when he entered Academy and Itachi 11 years old(5 year diff) when he joined ANBU. Itachi at the time of Shisui's death was already a double agent and was considering an Uchiha wipeout since he said he has 'lost all hope for the clan' He hadn't been given the mission but he had come to that conclusion. This was because of the promise made to Shisui. For the sake of peace he allowed Saru attempt peace talks for the next year, his father knowing that Itachi had betrayed them since the village knew about the plan, he lost all hope in Itachi and started training Sasuke. Itachi was 12 at the time Sasuke mastered the Fireball, he hadn't met Tobi yet. We know he was promoted to ANBU commander before he was given the mission. The village head gave him the dangerous and heartless mission believing it was on his level since he was an ANBU commander. How does a 13 year old become ANBU commander? The answer is Mangekyo Sharingan, Itachi awakened it at age 11 so till the massacre he had two years to maaster it which is why Danzo knows about his Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, and probably why they saw him fit to be able to wipeout the clan alone at 13. Itachi said he was trained by Tobi so I believe Tobi taught him how to use Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu meaning he met Tobi before he turned 13 and became ANBU commander. He met Tobi at 12+.



ULTIMATE CONCLUSION----
Joined ANBU at 11.
Awakened mangekyo still 11.
Met Tobi at 12. (If he ever met Oro, it was at this point)
Trained with Tobi till he was 13.
Promoted to ANBU commander at 13.
Massacred the clan at 13.
