Itachi was in the possession of two spiritual items. These of course were the sword of totsuka and the yata mirror. The Sword of Totsuka was the sword used by Itachi's version of Susanoo which was able to place whoever it cut into an eternal drunken slumber. The Yata Mirror was the shield Susanoo carried and was capable of deflecting any attack. The pairing quite literally made Itachi invincible.

These two items however, are part of a threesome. The one item that we haven't seen yet is the Yasakani no Magatama. Or at least it hasn't been revealed that we've seen it. I think though, that we have in fact seen this spiritual item. Magatama are curved beads that hang on necklaces, this is what the Sage of the Six Path's necklace is made of.

This brings us to Naruto's new transformation. When accessing the Kyuubi's chakra Naruto has a unique transformation. Unlike the transformations we've seen previously with the Shukaku, Nibi and Hachibi, Naruto does not take on the appearance of his tailed beast. Instead he gains a bright blue cloak in the form of the Sage of the Six Paths. He also gains what looks like the sage's necklace. I believe that this necklace shown on Naruto is in actuality, the Yasakani no Magatama that was given to him by Itachi.

The Yasakani no Magatama represents benevolance, the exact opposite of what the tailed beasts represent. I think the Sage of the Six Paths was the first person to possess this spiritual item and it was what allowed him to conquer the Juubi. Now in Naruto, it reacts with the Kyuubi's chakra and gives Naruto this new transformation. This also explains why Naruto can sense evil intentions. The necklace which represents goodness, gives the person the ability to sense evil.
Excellent theory. o_o It never occurred to me that Itachi's gift might have been the necklace, but it makes perfect sense - we knew he already had two of the trio, so it makes perfect sense that he actually had all three items.

correct me if i'm worng but wasnt that the whole purpose of training with bee? Bee even says he pulled the same headless trick that Naruto did

But still we don't know if it went exactly the same. There transformations are nothing alike and Kirabi is now friends with his Bijuu whereas we haven't seen any sort of communication between Naruto and the Kyuubi. So its likely that they both did something different.

It was bout grabbing it's chakra and pulling it in. I'm sure after taking the chakra/losing it's power, it lost it's aggression too. What's the use in being defiant if you aint got the power to do $#!T? I believe that's why Naruto said what he did about not hurting the fox. To start the healing process so they can start working together.

Danzo wasn't part of the Uchiha massacre, he just ordered it. Itachi understood that if he didn't do what he was ordered that the clan would revolt and cause chaos and death in the village. While he didn't want to do it, he felt it was needed. Madara agreed to help because he hold a grudge against the Uchiha for abandoning him and signing a treaty with the Senju.

A.) Outside Itachi the Uchiha clan wasn't that strong. Also Itachi was a prodigy who was an ANBU Captain at what, age 13? It also has to do with how they took out the clan. They didn't charge at them head on, they waited until nightfall and then took them out one by one. Itachi being a member of ANBU was a master of assassination.

B.) Killing people was unnecessary to make his point. All he wanted to do was remind the elders that he was still alive. Itachi still very much cared for Konoha, hence why he wouldn't want to kill their shinobi.

C.) Agreed, he liked Naruto and understood that if Sasuke fell into the darkness that Naruto was the only one who could bring him back. That encounter was basically Itachi testing Naruto, and when he was satisfied with Naruto's answer he gave him the gift.

D.) Not sure what you're asking.

We don't know how exactly Bee tamed his beast. Though its likely that he did it in a different way. But that still doesn't explain why Naruto's transformation looks the way it does. Why would the 9-tails chakra give him the appearance of the Sage?
A) Danzou was there at the very least. incredibly hard to believe he sat on the side lines, all alone, while the uchiha all merely waited to be executed by itachi.

The whole story just doesn't add up.

B) agreed, you made my point perfectly, Itachi still loved his village.

D) I'm saying villians don't act against their own self interest. There are still missing pieces, and all we know for sure, is that itachi got the blame, for all the uchiha's being dead. Beyond that, the story has changed too many times.
