Does anybody seriously think Jiraiya stands a chance against Itachi? 3 tomoe Itachi mid difficulty at best, MS would be overkill.
Some of Itachi's skills are he can effect and control multiple people with genjutsu simultaneously, he has the chakra supression Jutsu to completely conceal his presence.

Itachi is being highly underrated as is his strategic intelligence and analytical prowess. Even though he's overly powerful he doesn't have a superiority complex clouding his thought processes like many other characters.

Itachi isn't beating 3 Frog Kata users in CQC(Fukasaku showed the ability to stretch his body a decent bit while on Jiraiya's shoulders, imagine Shima is capable of the same. Even if not, it's 2 frog kata users) or coming even close to matching Jiraiya's ridiculous ninjutsu scale. MS Itachi can do it. 3T Itachi isn't coming anywhere close to beating SM Jiraiya, though. His MS abilities are what allow him to match and ultimately surpass Jiraiya. Susanoo(yata mirror and totsuka blade mostly) being the difference maker.

Itachi can win with high difficulty or it can be a draw.

However itachi without his disease should be above Pain.

3 tomoe beats Jiraiya. As soon as Ma or Pa look Itachi in the eye it's game over. Genjutsu'd Pa stabs Jiraiya in the neck with a kunai, than stabs himself. While Ma is heretically screaming Itachi kills her too. The end.

If there's a fanfic section then you're post should be there. Itachi is a strategic fighter who can conceal his presence so sensors can't track him and on top of that control and affect multiple people with genjutsu.

Jiraiya stands no chance against 3 tomoe Itachi. Having large scale jutsu doesn't afford him any advantage. Itachi's speed is also a factor often ignored, he's fast enough to get behind 8 tails Jin and take him out. We know how fast 8 tails is he was able to react to ftg Minato but not Itachi who had to warn him. We also know how fast Bee is from his fight against Taka and the distance he covered that should provide context.

3 tomoe takes Jiraiya mid difficulty and MS is overkill.
