thats not a very SMART decision? dont u think? give up your life in HOPING your brother turns good but actually turns evil, then u plant eyes in naruto in HOPING the eyes activate on sauske but it actually ACTIVATES on yourself on ACCIDENT, those all show signs of smartness. smh

shogi mogi i dont care shikamaru doesnt compare to Itachi and kakashi smarter then itachi i think they're tie on smart(not on power that;s funny lolxd) and for the one who said he coulnt even beat sasuke hes sad really sad
he planed hes death he used medics + he was able to fight i mean he was able to make his plan to take oro out and kill him(on 1 hit wew a legendary sannin)and too give him brother the ms dont u think he's smart too>?

just becuz somebody planned their death dosent mean nothing
he had enough intel on his brother and lets not forget the fact he KNOWS his own brother, that he knew he was going to take his eyes (1smart thing) so he implanted the crow in naruto mouth (2smart things) to activavte when it saw sauske, BUT it activated when it saw him which he didnt plan on (take away bnoth smartness) no,
Shikamaru took hidan down with NO problem, NONE at all,

I think Shikamaru. Itachi's plans had quite a couple of miscalculations. Like Madara knowing about him, Sasuke joining Akatsuki, he himself being Edo Tensei-ed, the Crow misfiring, etc.,etc....which makes it clear that he doesn't exactly have the most amazing foresight concerning things he does have a lot of experience with.
And like many others have already stated, Shikamaru has tons more experience and is probably far more intelligent.

Itachi:Best Long Term Thinker, (Like predicting future actions.
Shikamaru:Best Strategic/Analyzer thinker, always comes up with ways.

Dude itachi knew what madara was gonna do, He even knew what naruto was gonna do and knew what kisame was gonna do
He knew madara might tell the truth ,therefore he gave sasuke amaterasu.
He knew Sasuke might attack the village AND Itachi knew Naruto was gonna be the one to defend it. He even knew sasuke was gonna fight naruto (Even though it hasent happen yet. He prevented kisame from killing Jiraya. When he dettered Kisame by Prasing Jiraiya saying jiraiya was a sanin. He knew That if he didnt make jiraiya seem like God, Kisame would of attacked him And ITachi WOuldve had No choice But too help And since he didnt want to, That wouldve revealed itachi's true motives. And the akatsuki woldve grown suspicoious of itachi......And it would of been a War cuz other Jonin would help jiraiya Note: He joined to spy on the organization, cuz of the threat they posed to the village. He had to watch their every move.
He true intent was NOT to capture Naruto when he came to the village. He only came to Warn Danzou and the elders that he's still alive, and not to harm his younger brother,(Since sasuke was in the villlage at the time) SO itachi was kinda smart though and a pasifist.

We don't even know if Itachi has any of the board game experience.

Omg another itachi thread,

Guys seriously enought of the itachi stuff, there are other things to discuss.
Also I love how most of you guys think itachi so so so smart because he had shuis eye the whole time.
