You cant prove Minato doesn't know about genjutsu but chances are that he does since even non Konoha shinobi like Onoki or Chiyo know. About tthe Amaterasu; whether fast or slow, Minato will dodge it all

FTG before the match makes everything useless.
Thats all I have to say to a pathetic fanboy like u(didn't think this about u until now). FTG can be used when they are walking towards each other, genjutsu can only be used short ranged when they are in front of each other to fight.
genjutsu before the match wont work if Minato is out of range and can break the genjutsu and wont look into his eyes since its common knowledge not to look at a sharingan users eyes in a fight. As evidenced by Onoki and CHiyo knowing that Uchiha cast genjutsu using their eyes
Their most likely gonna be close, and if not Itachi has crows that can cast Genjutsu. Throwing a kunai isn't faster than Itachi's sharingan precognition. Oh and don't get angry bro lmao

The only way Itachi can hope to beat Minato is if uses his best techs, which always consume a BUNCH of his chakra. All minato needs to do is throw his many special kunia around the battle field, Summon Pa and Ma, maybe gama and friends, and just slowly pick away at itachi until itachi get tired, then, uppercut with a rasengan.
Common since for people who remembers and for people who's fought Sharingan users.

Imagine this: Minato throws a kunai, Itachi uses sharingan recognition to predict the path of the Kunai then throws his won to block it but Minato teleports to the Kunai before Itachi can block it then throws the same Kunai at Itachi,because of the unexpected and instantaneous change in the path of the Kunai Itachi will have to dodge the Kunai, as the Kunai passes Itachi Minato appars behind him and Uses rasengan immediately. Wont it be over?

if they survived their battles with Uchihas, that means they won so they countered genjutsu and won. Seeing as they dont have sharingan or any special features I'll say Minato can do the same but you wont believe that so I'm going to stop. The 3rd Hokage didn't release the 1st hokage's Genjutsu, instead he sniffed him out. So it's safe to say the 3rd Hokage dosen't know to release Genjutsu.
Dont be so hung up on rank or title. A Hokage lost to someone ITachi beat in 10 seconds. So titles mean nothing.
