i don't think we should compare Minato to anyone since he is still in a league of his own. most modern day Shinobi or even a few in the past bare had 1 of the most two(2) of his characteristics. Like Wisdom (Shikaku Nara) Agility (4th Raikage) Space Time Jutsu (Tobi) Rasengan (well 4 persons can do this apart from himself).
i mean- this dude has all this in a nutshell and we haven't seen him in an all out battle. My favorite is that he a a level 2 in his flying thunder god technique. Has any one ever wonder how many levels he has to this devastating technique. Umm well lets not ask too much of Kishi. MINATO RULES

Again. Take Sharingan and take FTG away. You have the fastest ninja WITHOUT jutsu and he has mastery over seals, basic rasengan, and the ability to summon toads. Itachi has somewhat high speed, decent taijutsu, and nothing I can think of. If you can figure out another ability that DOESNT involve Sharingan, tell me. Okay then, Minato is at Goku level .(Kaioken) with FTG.

Thanks, I know a lot of people wouldn't have thought of that cause really.. Kishi can sometimes say stuff that would just make you wonder, it's kinda crazy and like a puzzle words..

I don't actually know what does it matter if whomever the hell is stronger than the other, but.. all that fight you actually see in here and there is simply called a "fanboysim" rage..

I wouldn't call myself a fanboy for an animation character, but I use the term "like" for it.. cause it's just too lame to be a fanboy for something as when it comes down to be an "animated cartoon".. yes it's fun to watch, but really.. it isn't something you should lose your cool for and start insult others with it.

Look Itachi is a GREAT character. But seriously overrated by a lot of people in this forum, minato too (yes he IS overrated). But as far as a matchup between these two its just a fact that Minato IS better.

Minato planned 16 YEARS (omg) ahead in 1 battle against madara.

U know dude its every scenario and a lot of little things are what turn the battles from one side to the other in naruto. I just put it at the knowledge base both chars have of each other. Cause as we both know knowledge is a big factor and as long as we are debating this i guess it is unfair to give some1 knowledge he doesnt have XD. Actually dude itachi is free from kabutos control. So kabuto cant do anything to itachi at this point. Not even stop the edo tensei like u said. He is basically on his own control at this point. So he is basically alive. but your scenario was that minato didnt know anything about itachi, what if they both knew full knowledge of each other? It doesnt matter who wins to me.
The part you talk about him being alive his not his in a edo tensei but the crow with the shusi's eyes made him turn to protect the village and since nagato and everyone on madara side is against konoha, he has to fight against them. so if the edo tensei is release he would still be die. thats how i understand so if i got it wrong then correct or point me to the wrong direction and ill accept it. i agree that you are right that knowledge plays a big part in a battle so the scenario you put would put itachi at an advantage.
Also in your scenario you mention that minato cant run it has ftg if im correct it teleports the user to anywhere he as his seal forget what thats called his "weapon". so he can teleport far away from all that you mention and teleport back in a instant and attack. thats just and example that all,
Once again i dont care who wins you can be correct if you want it doesnt matter to me. Yes it was 3 years ago so he might not of though that far it could be that itachi is stronger now in the manga.

well in the end the other character u are debating about (itachi) planned a lifetime ahead when he was only 13 XD. Planned everything sasuke would do. Planned when sasuke would fight him. He would lose. He gave naruto power planning after his death to stop sasuke if he becomes power hungry. Planted an ambush for madara. itachi is definitely one of the planners XD. minato didnt plan on it being 16 years XD. He planned it for the day the 7th tail was it? popped out of naruto XD. So he could save naruto lol. He did an awesome job too. But he isnt any better than the other 2 big time geniuses (the third is madara look at how much he has planned LOL). Dude all the characters are awesome. When u are talking at this power level its really unnessecary to fight too much about it . They are the gods of naruto. That is all lol. Each god has special abilities. Regardless itachi and yondaime would never fight. So there is really no reason to argue about who is stronger of these 2 great chars

I agree with you it no reason to argue about who is stronger of these 2 great characters. but its always fun to debate about it but i wouldnt want to work myself to the point that i am angry thats just childish because holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned. you havent accomplish anything from the angry, your only hurting yourself in the end.

yeaaa.. not really because his planned failed. his plan was to make sasuke powerful and then go back to the village.. that failed (stayed with madara and akatsuki). just in case that happened he put shisui's eye in the bird for naruto. but that ended getting used on him so i don't see how his planning was better than minato. Minato planned narutos life in one little battle between him and madara

yes I like itachi more than minato but I already posted that I think minato would win because I try to reasonable and fair. it isn't fair to say minato's plan worked and itachi's failed like minato was the better planner. I mean come on,he put his chakra in naruto so he would appear on the eighth tail,and then put his chakra in his mom so she would appear when he tries to control the nine tails.madara made it clear that he wanted the nine tails so if he put it in naruto then that means madara would eventually come after naruto,but itachi's plan was far more in depth than that

that interview was in 2008 seriously i think itachi has improved since then as we have seen
