Itachi vs. Kakashi (without sharingan)

Are you talking about the demonic illusions? If so, both of those require sharingan and eye contact. I'm going to assume it has to be, because the only other genjutsu he has performed(outside of Tsukyomi) is that one he used on Naruto in their fight at the start of Shippuden.

The bolded part to me implies it can be used without handseals but as it said its unnecesary.... due to eye contact being a much easier and efficient method...
The keyword is unnecessary , not that it cant happen..

it can also be read as you don't need handseals to do this all you need is eye contact

like you can use handseals if you want, but eye contact is neccesary

Itachi will destroy Kakashi with ease. Although Kakashi may be strong and smart, he cannot defeat an opponent such as Itachi for the simple fact that Itachi is a genius. Intelligence is the most powerful weapon an individual can possess, but many people seem to forget this concept. All in all, Kakashi doesn't stand a chance.

Yes, all you need is eye contact...but it requires the sharingan.

I'm not trying to argue that Kakashi > Itachi in this fight, before anyone gets that impression. I'm only saying Itachi hasn't shown any elite genjutsu that doesn't require the sharingan. The genjutsu he has shown that doesn't require it can easily be broke by(if he gets caught in it in the first place, which I find unlikely) someone of Kakashi's level.

without the sharingan itachi doens't have any genjutsu cuz all his genjutsus were visual.

what r u talking about itachi can use genjutsu without his eyes remember when he fought with naruto+sakura+kakashi+ elder chiyo he placed genjutsu on naruto without his eyes

It is listed as a Kekkei Genaki technique, though. And the only kekkei genkai that Itachi possesses is sharingan.

And when have we ever seen someone use an eye-genjutsu that wasn't kekkei genkai related? I don't recall one, but my memory often fails me.

its listen as kkg because both times it was cast it was cast via sharingan..... sharingan allows the user to cast their genjutsu via eye contact,

but the only sole abilities ive ever heard sharingan give is mangekyou sharingan abilities... never in my life have i heard them say that base sharingan has abilities...

Kakashi's sharingan placed a genjutsu on ANBU members that were watching over Naruto, remember?

Given it's listed as a KKG, I don't think it's possible to perform without possessing the KKG.

the person still has to know the genjutsu, to cast i through eye contact... i honestly never heard of any base unique abilities

I thought you were saying the base sharingan doesn't cast genjutsu, lol.

And I don't see why it'd be listed as a KKG technique if it didn't need a KKG.

And you said it yourself, the sharingan casts genjutsu via eyecontact. Exactly what Itachi uses to perform his demonic illusions.

Kakashi is a very great ninja, capable of taking down and has taken down many good shinobis with his active Sharingan, but I dont think Itachi is of his comparetive status when both have no Sharingan.

I still can't see why people are using genjutsu to debate for Itachi..

He has quite literally nothing that would effect Kakashi when taking away his sharingan..
