okay here is my idea-
tsukuyomi- i think pain would be immune to genjutsu of the occular type. for one reason he is proficient in genjutsu himself. another is that is is hard to tell if it would work against the rinnegan which is also a chakra sensing ocular ability. also since deva has no thoughts himself, it is possible that temporarily nagato can shut him off to avoid genjutsu

Amaterasu- shinra tensei would repel it causing itachi to waste his chakra

susanoo- same as amaterasu

his other techniques would be useless

Bad argument, Itachi's genjutsu revolves around eye sight, dojutsu, and Ma + Pa's was sound genjutsu. Completely different. We don't know whether Dojutsu Genjutsu will work on the Rinnegan, as it is the superior Dojutsu, but, for your sanity, let's say it will work.

Itachi's genjutsu may be able to control his senses, but, they can still move in the real world, as seen when Itachi put Naruto in a genjutsu and he ran and Rasnegan'd thin air, as well as this, all Deva needs to do to cast Shinra Tensei is, some what widen his eyes, as seen vs Kakashi, and his genjutsu could not stop him doing this.

If he get's hit with Tsukuyomi, he will take considerable toll but as his life force is Nagato's, and Nagato is an Uzumaki, his life force is strong, so the effects of Tsuku will not be as drastic as with other people, this is not me saying it won't effect him, but he may tank it a lot better than others could.

Saying this he should still be able to Shinra tensei whilst in the genjutsu.

Despite all of this, Nagato knows Itachi is a master of genjutsu and will not allow himself to be put under as easily as you suggest.

Firstly, you talk as if Amaterasu is a random attack which is not so, it severely exhausts Itachi and after using it , he usually can't battle any longer .

Secondly, Amaterasu on Chikabu Tensin Core ? I don't even know what to say about that ! will the moon get destroyed because its core is on fire ? also can rocks catch fire/Amaterasu ? :shrug:

I doubt Amaterasu is strong enough to break the core but it's definitely not fast enough it just burns it's target slowly.

When it comes to these two ninja its just about sheer power not about finding an opening and I think Deva Path takes this seriously Itachi's sasunoo would be crushed by benshoi tensei and pain would be able to repel the sealing sword as he did to naruto's beams.

All in all its just an overkill with Chibaku Tensei U_U

Kakashi had three jonin and 1 chunin with him when he "almost" defeated deva path. Itachi wont have that. This is strictly 1 on 1.

i think itachi would win with hard difficulty as said before nagato would concentrate all his energy and chakra in deva path making him stronger and more efficeint than when naruto was fighting all 6 paths of pain

I like the idea of deva bansho tenin itachis eyes out as funny as it sounds it is very plausible. If Madara can pin point two meteor in space and bring them down and deva can bansho just the nail from a peice of wood should he be able to bansho some ones eyes?

It doesnt make sense that the paths are not immune to genjutsu.....Jiraya stated to get out of genjutsu one must flutuate their chakra flow or a friend nearby must transfer his chakra.....Since Nagato is continuously pumping chakra to deva path or any other path they must never fall under genjutsu!!! Also the amount that Nagato pumps is very very high i guess being an Uzumaki!!!

But m gonna go with Itachi anyways..

Itachi takes this low to mid difficulty. Its not like once he stabs him its over Itachi does make clones and he will find an opening :shrug:
