Lets say it was Itachi that fell into the cave insted of Obito, and he was trained and tought by Madara. Itachi would have executed Madaras plan to perfection, next to Madara Itachi is the most powerfull Uchiha of all time. If they ever combined forces it would mean world domination.

Imagine PS Itachi with Yata and Sword of Totsuka + Hashiramas cells + Current Madara = World Domination?

He specifically states why he considers his reasoning to be that of a Hokage's. Madara's words don't go against all those things. In fact they could have made Itachi realize that the village itself is part of a corrupt system (just like Madara believed).

You must remember that Obito was against Madara's beliefs also, until he saw Rin being killed.
