I think Shikamaru only exceeds at strategy and planning, while Itachi's intelligence is way more versatile and can adapt very quickly to any unexpected event, also it back ups with Itachi's inmensely better knowledge and wisdom.

Itachi has an overall better mindset than Shikamaru, for god's sake, Kishi made Itachi unbeatable, the fact is that he planned his death TWICE, no one could take him out otherwise, he basically won all his fights before they even started.

I admit he makes Sasuke look as dumb as Naruto but he's nowhere near as intelligent as Shikamaru.

Where do you get that from? To say that Shikamaru is smarter isnt streching, just like Itachi being smarter than him isnt streching it either.

Shikamaru was made leader of a genin squad because of his ability to lead and think quickly, he was 13 years old.

Itachi was Anbu captain at 13 years old, leading JOUNIN level shinobi..... this should speak a little of his ability to think quickly and efficiently.


Itachi seems to be as smart as shikamaru to me, but on top of that he is vastly superior to him in battle.

His abilities aren't special at all bar tsukuyomi. Compared to Sasuke who could use Amaterasu many times a day with his old MS, Itachi was a one and done; his chakra reserves aren't that special either.

Amaterasu aint special? Susano aint special? You say that because you're looking at the likes of Madara, Naruto and Sasuke who were given Power ups left and right or were given the ability to reach higher heights that only a few could have reached but not without help.

Itachi is one the few who achieved such a high level by doing it the ''legit way'', others being people like Hashirama, Tobirama, Minato and Itachi.

Most of the people stronger than him either stole everybody's power, acquired Senju DNA, or were given the Rinnegan



About his chakra pool, you know he was sick and second, go take a look at his fight against Sasuke again, heres is what he used;

A top 20 shouldnt be about the people who can beat him but rather who would rank higher than him overrall,,,, while you think Gaara beats him, it doesnt mean Gaara beats everybody Itachi is able to beat, which means Gaara isnt considered stronger than Itachi in the ened just because he could beat him according to you.

Nagato and Itachi are the strongest Edo tenseis outside of Madara himself, meaning the previous Kages, including Muu, are not considered stronger than them.

If Muu is able to match and defeat Itachi in a one vs one, which i dont believe is the case, he is still not considered a stronger shinobi than Itachi.


Just for the hell of it, The 4th raikage was going for a mutual strikedown against a ''not mastered'' version of Sasuke, who was not on Itachi's level at all yet.... Itachi beats him for sure
