-Madara/Obito don't exactly have good intentions, even if they claim that. They want to throw everyone into genjutsu and hide from reality literally. Then control everyone themselves. That's not good.
then the same is true for itachi. he claims good intentions when all he really wants to do is lie and manipulate people into accepting what he wants them to know and think.
he controls people by lying and manipulating just as he did to hide the facts of his clan's coup.
-No. It was "protect Konoha" because he knew that Sasuke may want to destroy it at one point possibly, so the KA would work against that. Also, KA doesn't affect your memories, emotions, nothing except the goal. So still the same Sasuke just with a different goal in mind. Don't exaggerate.
sasuke has no reason to bear any grudge toward it unless someone tells him they were behind the massacre, which he thinks no one but elders and himself know about.
KA is complete control over someone as many peope stated, its just that they dont know they are being influenced.
itachi showed he couldnt give less of a fuk about anywhere except konoha and wanted to expose everywhere except konoha to sasukes madness.
-Only way for Sasuke to look like a hero at the time, Sasuke had to redeem his clan, Itachi wanted to pay for his sin, very reasonable.
itachi pays for his sin by turning himself in and accepting the lawful punishment. not forcing a confused emo kid to kill him.
and how was it the only way for him to be a hero?
sasuke was ALREADY a hero until itachi fuked him up with torture. all itachi had to do was leave well enough alone and not go near him.
-Sasuke wasn't executed when he ditched because Naruto said no to Tsunade when she said that Anbu/Root were supposed to be sent after him. He wouldn't be executed for killing 3 Akatsuki members and people in Konoha actually were shown to be calling Sasuke a hero prior to the kage summit event.
exactly. the reason sasuke wasnt executed is because itachi didnt know tsunade would return and be a benevolent ruler. any other kage would kill him straight away. but no he wants to corrupt sasuke anyway.
he would indeed be executed but not fort he reasons you said. he would be executed
no one in kooha of importance or rank said that. danzo sentenced him to die literally as soon as he got in power. and had tsunade not taken power, hiruzens replacement would have killed sauske years ago, regardless of narutos wishes.
tsunade would have had to force her hand if sasuke did anything that would render him hated by the village completely, such as killing a konoha ninja or causing an internationla incident. which he nearly did at VOTE. at that point do you think fodders would be like "lol hes a hero"?
sai voiced what everyone was thinking at the time. sasuke was a power hungry ass hole, who joined oro. do you think, if that was a total lie, that naruto wouldnt smack him silly long before sakura did?
your confusing konoha with nice people. they are not forgiving at all and the second sasuke is out of line more than he already was, he'd have an army after him.
hed already be in jail if it werent for oro cripling konohas military power.
-He didn't even capture a single bijuu
-He couldn't kill Orochimaru
yes he did. do you think if he failed a solo mission, he would still be in the organisation?
failing to get naruto merely means that akatsuki will send someone else.
he could have and still failed to kill orochimaru.
-Sasori and Konan failed hard. Worst possible examples.
sasori and konan had no real reason to prepare for anything except make more puppets, and konan only died because of one small miscalculation regarding izanagi. had she known she would have delayed their battle/destroyed the rinnegan.
best possible examples
-Konan spent alot of time with Obito due to him talking to Nagato and calling the shots...Obito stayed away from Itachi and there were only two confirmed times that they were withing the vicinity of each other in the manga, while sealing. :/
false. itachi was a member of obitos organisation so they were around alot, evne if its holograms and even if itachi didnt notice.
he would have had to have been following itachi around to know as much as he did about him.
obito, not itachi, made it his business to know everything he could about allies and enemies with zetsus aid. itachi made it his business to sit around and do nothing.
till not confirmed to know Zabuza, nor is Zabuza any of his concern. It's impossible for him to go after every missing-nin, especially when he doesn't know that.
it should have been impossible to go running after naruto and sasuke and making them fight him those times. the fact he could means he has alotted time to go and do whatever fukin shit he wants when not ordered to find bijuus.
he could have used that time hunting threats to konoha.
instead he used it to do useless crap like letting threats kill HIM.
HOW IS ZABUZA NOT HIS CONCERN? you just went on a rant about how konoha is his beloved home and he would commit genocide to protect it. but capturing and defeating people that arent his clan is now suddenly impossible?
or is it that he simply doesnt care about innocent lives dying every day to evil superpowered criminals.
tell me, what in the long run saves lives. hunting down evil thugs and deterring others, or sitting around "spying" on akatsuki?
its called killing few to save the many and doing his duty as a konoha ninja. you would think that destroying the sound after their previous actions would be a top priority. if kabutos out there, obviously hes another target to deal with. lest he become a major threat. instead itachi decides vigilante killings arent his style but sipping tea and sitting around is.
-The Anbu at the time Itachi was a part of the organization didn't know a thing about Oro. In fact, Oro was in Akatsuki at the time and that wasn't revealed to Itachi until he found Obito...so Itachi didn't learn a thing about Oro/Akatsuki from the Anbu
this is a complete lie. everyone knew everything about orochimaru just as everyone knew everything about itachi.
orochimaru was a famous hero who got turned down for hokage, and then exposed as a sick mad scientist who fled the village, vowing revenge.
anyone with a bingo book handy would know who he was instantly. and itachi probably grew up hearing about the evilness of oro.
the only known missing nin from an entire nation? your saying the anbu captain knew nothing of him?
No one in the Naruverse has massacred 1000 innocent kids for no reason.
i didnt say for no reason. but people have done this. konoha massacred thousands of children in their bloody wars against the other nations, which used the rain as a battleground. you think that no one died in the crossfire? hell nagatos DOG got blown away by a stray bomb and you think kids didnt?
orochimaru slaughtered hundreds of babies with hashirama cell experiments.
what i am saying is this: is it justified and noble just because the pepetrator rationalised it? or is it just as evil as anything else.
if a bad act can be avoided and done differently, its usually the wise move to not do it.
-No, it's not his business to know what every missing-nin in the world is up to.
as an anbu captain and secret akatsuki spy, yes it is. its his business to know everything akatsuki might have its claws in, including potential recruitment selection.
people bray and whine about sakura. "zomg if shes so great why did neji die on her watch".
so i get when things are just impossible for a character to do. but itachi was hyped as smart too much for me to let any mistake or oversight go ignored.
and yes not keeping a close eye on every powerful ninja is a huge oversight as a supposed spy.
He only hurt Sasuke and Sasuke got stronger as a result a
he brutalised and beat sasuke into a coma. sasuke got stronger because he turned evil and lost his compassion and sanity.
itachi created a monster that now could not be stopped and was inevitably a second madara.
. An antihero is an individual who has done bad things, but is doing it to protect something or something to stay safe.
wrong. an anti hero is a hero who has a particular flaw or abrasive personality, and does semi questionable things
itachis a knight templar. itachi commits horrible unspeakable war crimes that devastate many innocent people, and horific torture because he rationalises it as all for the greater good when it actually is just making things worse and in his zealotry, thinks konoha can never do anything wrong, and basically forces sasuke to go back there.
only reason he realised he fuked up was sasuke turning his attentions on konoha. had sasuke been dragged back to knoha in chains i bet itachi would have said "yay job well done" and continued his path of lies and torture.
you sweetening itachi doesnt make him an anti hero, just someone who fans like to lie about ot make himself look better.
-Everyone in Akatsuki is looked at as a ruthless killer. How would Kisame act if he saw Itachi showing remorse? Being an antihero does not have any qualifications such as crying about things like Sakura. Itachi also learned to stop showing outward emotion in Anbu. It doesn't mean that he doesn't regret things if he doesn't cry about it.
kisame LITERALLY wouldnt give two licks of a fuk if he saw itachi tensing up/weeping after a mission.
he would just be like "ah...seems you still like your old village huh" and then walk away to go kill something.
and yes it does. itachi is a ruthless sociopath who can do the absolute worst brutality while cruelly mocking and manipilating a scared terrified child in agonising pain and NOT CARE. wanna know why he didnt care? because he rationalised it in his head that its all to "make sasuke stronger". and only true madmen have that kind of zealot-like delusion.
nagato tensed up alot and showed alot of high emotion and he was the leader.
this is classic excuses and making shit up.
"he cared but he chose not to show it". thats shit storytelling and contradicts his actions. if he cared he wouldnt have committed the crime. and if he did but chose to do it anyway, then he would have broken that mask and showed some kind of regret.
his stone faced expression as he beat down sasuke, probably even UNNERVED kisame in the hotel
Whether he raised his hand against them or not is irrelevant, they were done either way. He maintained the clan's honor and innocence, saved 1000s, and saved a member. That's what a good person does in a situation like that. At least he had the maturity to want to pay for that sin as well.
he committed genocide. and the fact you said a good person butchers their family and commits genocide is absolutely horrifying. so according to you hitlers a good person because he killed the allied soldiers trying to kill his army.and yes its a good example because he was acting in preservation just as itachi was.
he maintained the clan's honor? wrong. the honor is gone either way. he just lied and made peopel think it had been maintained. which is not the same as ACTUALLY maintianing it. he lied and manipulated a city and showed absolutely no trust in his own people, to make himself feel better about a few hundred dead people. good people dont do that. good people are honest for the right reasons. if its a harvey dent situation and revealing the truth releases hundreds of prisoners then sure. but as it is..theres no reason to cover it up except to delude himself into thinking they werent gonna rebel.
he saved nothing given they were gonna be dead either way as you said above.
he didnt save a member. he tortured sasuke to madness and beat him into a coma. not saving, just condemning to a life of suffering and pain. which again is not what "good people" do.
-Sasuke's not complaining. He got stronger both physically and mentally. He is now the second or tied for first most powerful shinobi that is currently alive in this manga alive with Naruto. Itachi apologized in the end as well. It worked out, it wasn't pretty. But what Itachi did was understandable and in a way worth it.
sasuke is still massively psychologically hurt and damaged/arrogant/pompous. previously he was a globally hated psychopath terrorist plotting the extermination of a country.
he only got closure because itachi had the goddamn common sense to say "im sorry i fuked up". which basically jogged him out if it partly but hashirama explaining why he and the hokages did it is also why he decided to help.
but im sorry, ten minutes of redemption doesnt mean 10 years of selfish douchebaggery is forgiven. and in sasukes case 3 years.
it didnt work out. sasuke is still a global terrorist with a laundry list of crimes. people are only deeming to work with him because its that or everyone dies.
what itachi did was the single most sadistic horrific act of evil brutality in the entire manga and in a way, cements him as the worst villain in the series and the most evil. no one was as cruel or as brutal to a single young child anywhere else. no one tortured another person for as long as itachi did.
so how is it understandable and worth it? worth it in that he created a monster who was moments away from decidding to exterminate konoah and become worse than madara morality wise?
hell he was already worse. madara has his reasons. sasuke was going to kill everyone out of spite of them being happier than him.
that is what itachis manipulations created.
you call permanently mentally shattering sasuke and fuking his life up worth it?
when itachi was moments away from watching his brother kill thousands of people, from his little spot in hell?
-The way that Itachi has been portrayed by Kishimoto, as an antihero, is primarily acceptable due to the type of series Itachi is in. It's a story about shinobi where the moral standards are already at an all-time low.
the way itachi has chosen to act, which is of a massively psychopathic terrorist and violent mindrapist, is despised in the world itachis in and the reason why people much less evil than him got exiled/hated. people get hated simply because they house someone evil insdie them (jinchurikis). ninja world is far more moral than you are saying it is.
naruto is just one of a long line of heroic people who havent tortured children anywhere in their lives.
