the man keeps soloing even after death ., protect his village even after death, turns himself into a villain , forces his brother to kill him , accept the hardest mission ever for the sake of village , kills his parents for it , and he is bad ??!!!

Look at all this ****ing Itachi fanboys.

This is why this place ****ing annoys me. Rationality and logic has no place here and you act as if Itachi is a good guy.

Good and evil are subjective in naruto. Itachi was a good person in character not in actions. but even then its subjective. evil to one is good to another. justice and revenge are one in the same. it all depends on the side of the spectrum you look at it from.

When BZ was talking about itachi, he was simply making the most convenient comparison.

"Naruto, you aren't as fast as your father" would be more logical to say than "Naruto, you aren't as fast as the 2nd hokage".

BZ simply compared sasuke's intelligence [which is obviously lower] to his brothers, BZ could have said any name & the result would be the same.U_U:
^^Basically this.

Is there something wrong with Kishimoto?

What the hell is this shit I am reading?

You must be registered for see images

Itachi is dead and buried and Kishimoto continues to put him in a positive light. Am I the only one stunned that a psychopath is being given so much praise throughout the manga?

Alright. I suppose I'll entertain this useless and moronic thread with a somewhat plausible response. Though I doubt that it will be plausible in the OP's eyes, considering that she (or perhaps he for all we know) is reading a different manga.

-Itachi isn't a psychopath. If you had half a brain (which I certainly hope you do, to say the least), you'd realize that he had only two choices at the time and chose the one that would result in less death. I don't envy either choice he had. It was even said that whether he raised his had against his clan or not, they'd be done. Perhaps Fugaku and Hiruzen should have negotiated...too bad the Uchiha didn't want to talk to the most lenient hokage and then jumped to a coup (which makes no sense considering that they knew they were being spied on 24/7...so they'd have no element of surprise) as the only answer when it was the worst possible choice and entailed so many risks.

-He's a ninja. A shinobi is by definition a skilled assasin. By your logic and past threads, Naruto is the most vile criminal considering he killed two people. You sound like you cannot handle the severity of this series. Perhaps you should discontinue watching/reading it.

-It's a fact that Itachi is a good guy. Or rather, anti-hero, by Kishimoto's own words in the databook under his profile. He saved 1000s, maintained his clan honor by making them look innocent, saved his brother, and took the burden alone. That's heroic no matter how you look at it.

-Itachi's intellect has nothing to do with if he's good or bad and what not. You can be a genius no matter what side you're on. Terrible point to make.

-He has alot of relevance, or at least had when he was alive. He's even part of Sasuke's reason for changing his mind and wanting to protect the people in the village instead of killing them all. BZ also knows him and it's common sense to compare an individual to their brother. Nothing wrong with the chapter.

-Itachi never thought of himself as a good guy. He hated himself. He thought it was only right to die by another Uchiha's hand. That tells you alot about the guilt the character felt, even while having no real positive choice, and their level of maturity.

And to conclude this informative post of mine. xD

-Quit using profanity on the internet to address other users. It causes you to look like a complete degenerate with a severely limited lexicon.

-Get over it and stop being so obsessed with a drawing. Log out of NB now, and go get some fresh air.

-You have a freaking knife as your sig with a threat under it. That sounds quite psychopathic on your end imo. XD

2 reasons this thread is shitty

1. itachi had a level of genius that is still noted. Albert Einstein, Leonardo Davinci, Plato, Aristotle, and Isaac newton are long dead but do we forget about them? no...why because you dont forget a genius.

2. The author needed to convey a since of where the strategic skills are of the protagonist. naruto and sasuke may be strong as all hell but they cannot think like itachi. this is so we can understand the lack of elite strategic skills that our protagonists are dealing with.

This manga is about ninja. ninjas often did things they are not proud of or not deemed good. a Ninja steals and kills. a ninja follows orders. all itachi did was be a good ninja weather he was evil or not. good and evil are all subjective in naruto.
this.... n i'll add that tactics are what ninjas used to fight before manga turned into super saiyan saga... the guy with stronger tactics used to win fights... that's what naruto(manga) was all about...

e may not be a good guy like naruto for ex
but he's not bad.
you heard it here first people. torture a child, beat him into a coma, turn him into a monster, and your...NOT BAD!
Itachi was a good person in character not in actions.
itachi was a horrible psychopath.
everything he did was so he could manipulate and lie to others, turn people into his own little puppets and make a brutal dictatorship stronger.the fact he serves konoha knowing what an awful place it is, and does nothing about it, shows his true nature.

his is ridiculous !! this makes him "not good" wtf?!!
yes.
the man keeps soloing even after death
the man started a world war and by attacking kabuto, ensured madaras victory
protect his village even after death
not a good thing. his village is brutal and corrupt. and no he didnt protect it. he condemned it.
turns himself into a villain , forces his brother to kill him
which is evil and brutal and damaging. who the hell forces someone to murder them knowing it would hurt the murderer psychologically?
accept the hardest mission ever for the sake of village
accept that he let orochimaru go for no reason and put the village in massive danger
kills his parents for it , and he is bad ??!!!
yes. genocide is not justified.

1. itachi had a level of genius that is still noted. Albert Einstein, Leonardo Davinci, Plato, Aristotle, and Isaac newton are long dead but do we forget about them? no...why because you dont forget a genius.
itachi did something stupid and unpragmatic nearly every time we saw him and was constantly making stupid decisions that underestimated others

i
tachi had no choice the uchiha clan wanted to start a coup d'etat
there were no way to stop them and if they did go against the leaf they were going to die anyway so itachi
hurizen danzo and the sannin he had to make a hard choice
did he "have no choice" when he let orochimaru go, knowing orochimaru wanted to murder innocent people and keep murdering? did he"have no choice" when he knew danzo was against the leafs principles and a dangerous murderous man?
did he "have no choice" when he refused to stop sasuke knowing he had created a monster?
itachis a hypocrite who only fights enemies of konoha when it suits him.

This manga is about ninja. ninjas often did things they are not proud of or not deemed good. a Ninja steals and kills. a ninja follows orders. all itachi did was be a good ninja weather he was evil or not. good and evil are all subjective in naruto.
wrong.theres a clear difference between men like orochimaru and men like might gai in terms of portraying ninjas.
gai would sacrifice himself for just one of his comrades without hesitation. orochimaru is a pure evil psychopath whos murdered and tortured thousands for a selfish god complex.
but both are "ninjas". so no you cant use the "hes a ninja" excuse on every villain. if their world did it then they wouldnt universally revile orochimaru and kinkaku would they.
Itachi was like the smartest guy in the series, it's only fair that Sasuke would be compared to him as his brother. Plus Zetsu being in the Akastsuki knows about Itachi, so its a fair comment.
itachi was a severely braindead moron whos convoluted dumb decisions that underestimated others constantly, helped akatsuki gain power

like many itachi haters, i dont have a problem with the massacre. they had little time and no options left.
but if itachi is really so adamant in the whole "i have no choice, lesser evil, kill the few to save the many" rhetoric then why was this the absolute last time he killed people?
wouldnt a man like this, a vigilante who so easily condemns his family to die because they are the greater evil, hunt down ALL greater evil from that point forward and honor what his family had to die for?
instead itachi became a selfish hypocrite who had golden opportunities to expose or defeat danzo, orochimaru, sasuke and obito yet continually prefers to simply wait it out and let someone else fight and die trying to stop them.
which is the total opposite of the man who killed his parents. obviously the massacre fuked him up and made him drop all his idealism and will to do what was necessary and instead turned into a selfish torturing terrorist.
-He's a ninja. A shinobi is by definition a skilled assasin. By your logic and past threads, Naruto is the most vile criminal considering he killed two people.
a shinob by naruto's definition is basically like a cop. they enforce order as the governments soldiers and as the daimyos guards.
we see much more bodyguard missions than we do assasination ones.
if every ninja is by nature, just a liar and killer, then how come orochimaru is universally reviled for lying and killing? are ninjas hypocrites or is this a better job than you think it is.
i dont think a kind hearted boy like rock lee would sign on to become a ninja if he thought all he would ever be doing is slaughtering people and spying and lying. and i dont think gai would lie to him about the nature of the job.
whats wrong with the world of ninjas is not the ninjas, but the men corrupt enough to order those assasinations.

-It's a fact that Itachi is a good guy. Or rather, anti-hero, by Kishimoto's own words in the databook under his profile. He saved 1000s, maintained his clan honor by making them look innocent, saved his brother, and took the burden alone. That's heroic no matter how you look at it
its a fact that his actions are one of brutality, torture, murder, manipulation, attempted slavery, attempted murder, cruel psychological breaking of two innocents.
he condemned thousands of innocent people to be massacred when he supported konohas violent regime and did nothing about danzo, he condemned thousands to die in a devastating invasion when he did nothing to stop orochimaru (he didnt have to kill him but putting a stop to him is what any good man would do, at any cost). he aided a terrorist organisation in murdering 6 peopel and taking their WMDS.
he lied to his entire village about his clan which he had no right to do and was only done because of itachi's need to control others and make himself feel better about the clan's decision.
dont pretend he thought that konoha didnt need to know because they do. a good amn would trust everyone with the truth and stop it happening again.
he didnt save his brother. he beat him into a coma, tortured him twice, and manipulated him into embracing hatred and trying to kill his own friends. thats villainous no matter how you choose to try and justify it.
He's even part of Sasuke's reason for changing his mind and wanting to protect the people in the village instead of killing them all
hes the entire reason why sasuke changed his mind from being a loyal soldier almost giving up revenge for love, to a traitorous thug shoving chidori in narutos chest for the sake of power.
itahci even admitted sasuke turning out like that was his fault. yet you deny it.

-Itachi never thought of himself as a good guy. He hated himself. He thought it was only right to die by another Uchiha's hand. That tells you alot about the guilt the character felt, even while having no real positive choice, and their level of maturity.
itachi always thought of himself as the good guy, given his constant braying about "protecting knooha". "oh its ok because im protecting konoha". "oh im threatening konoha with high treason because i love it". "oh its ok sasuke, im brutally torturing you because its to make you stronger, even though im tearing away your sanity and compassion while doing so". "oh its ok innocent people, sasuke has to murder you because i want him stronger".
"no its ok kakashi im only torturing you so i can get away from your friends who are coming to save you"
itachis entire life was one of excuses and trying to rationalise away all his brutal insane actions.
he was so selfish, cruel and evil that he actually forcibly made his own brother kill him instead of seeking out justice from the people who actually are elected to carry out sentences for traitors.
if itachi wanted to be at peace, he would turn himself in. not force an innocent little boy to kill him and forever stain sasukes mind with the horror of slaying your own kin.
did he not realise that this would hurt sasuke emotionally and psychologically?
that tells you alot. only he can do wrong. only he has the right to control and manipulate others.
didnt itachi once say those who slay their kin always meet with a bad death? yet he was fine with sasuke killing people for the mangekeyo.

Alright. To put it blatantly, NO ONE is going read what you just posted. It's in a terrible format and well, 100% of it is just bs due to your unreasonable bias towards the character which is entirely unfounded. Sorry if that sounded rude, I don't mean to offend you. It just happens to be the truth.

Every single individual in this manga does questionable things as a shinobi. ALL of them. What justifies those actions IN THEIR WORLD is their reasons for doing so. Itachi had good reasons, he had decent intentions. He's not a saint, however, he is good at his core. It's called an anti-hero for this story.

Btw, just to help you out here:

-Stop comparing fiction to the real world. You are not a ninja. Children kill each other over scrolls in the chuunin exams and other ridiculous things...how comparable is that to the life people live really?

-Stop being so obsessed with Itachi. You think about him alot for whatever reason. That's a little weird to be honest. He's just a drawing, calm down.

-As a Sakura fan, your time would be better spent defending her than going on numerous forum sites with various accounts to spend your free time hating on a drawing called "Weasel".

-What you say isn't going to make more people hate Itachi. JS. He has a sizeable fanbase, always did, even before the truth was revealed and he was a bad guy. That's never going to change and he will be remembered positively by the majority of the fandom for years to come when people look back at the Naruto series.

-Do you have personal problems in life and do you use Itachi to vent out those frustrations? Because if you do, then I hope that things get better for you. U_U

By the way, countering any of my points and wasting your time by doing that will be completely pointless. It's not going to benefit you in any shape or form, hopefully you realize this. Hopefully you take some of this to heart and reflect on how you spend your time. Hating any character is never mature, especially considering that they are just ink and paper at the end of the day and it's a waste to repeatedly post negatively about them. Anyway, God bless and I hope that you have a nice rest of the day. :)

We need to have a talk about more worldly things. This type of thinking goes beyond Naruto. It isn't necessarily wrong or bad or anything; your views on Itachi's actions just go beyond a manner of thinking that can be sufficiently explained in that context

Every single individual in this manga does questionable things as a shinobi. ALL of them. What justifies those actions IN THEIR WORLD is their reasons for doing so. Itachi had good reasons, he had decent intentions. He's not a saint, however, he is good at his core. It's called an anti-hero for this story.
but if thats the truth then how come they universally revile orochimaru?
itachi had horrible reasons and horrible intentions. hes evil at the core.
what were his reasons and intentions for sasuke?
enslave him and force him to go back to konoha, a brutal dictatorship that genocided his family, the uchiha clan. his intentions? force sasuke ot kill him, knowing it would damage sasukes mind, and trick konoha into thinking hes a hero for killing a sick dying man who wanted to die anyway. because you see, sasuke cant EARN being a hero. of course not. it has to be all a lie.

what were his reasons and intentions for konoha? serve danzo and threaten, extort, torture and murder members of the village when it suits him or danzo. as well as ignore any other corrupt individuals and let them run rampant, like oro and zabuza.
what were his intentions for akatsuki? apparently sit around and do nothing, wait for naruto or someone else to fight them.

-Stop comparing fiction to the real world. You are not a ninja. Children kill each other over scrolls in the chuunin exams and other ridiculous things...how comparable is that to the life people live really?
yet your "good man at his core" is fine with this. it seems only naruto wants to change the cycle of hatred. thats why hes our hero.
Hating any character is never mature,
when did i hate itachi? hes not a terrible character. hes a dumbass villain who tortures people. thats a dime a dozen in stories. what i want to know is why no one else seems to realise hes a villain and why people go to lenghts to justify his brutality.
-As a Sakura fan, your time would be better spent defending her than going on numerous forum sites with various accounts to spend your free time hating on a drawing called "Weasel".
not really. as you say, if im not gonna convince anyone itachis evil, how can i convince anyone sakuras good.

Because Orochimaru has no good intentions. He just wants to learn all the jutsu in the world so he can live forever. That helps no one except himself. Which is why he is universally despised.

No, you're looking at it in a biased negative light. What I say will more than likely never change your mind, considering how much you hate this piece of ink and paper. His intentions were for Sasuke to live. For Sasuke to grow up to be strong. For Sasuke to have friends in the end and be a hero in the village. Point blank. It's what Itachi wanted for him, concerning his brother specifically.

He wanted to protect Konoha from destruction and did. If Itachi attempted to attack the Akatsuki members, considering that he had a fatal illness and terrible stamina, he'd end up dead against all of them and fail in that way. Itachi didn't know anything about Oro other than the fact he was a missing-nin during their first encounter. Also, you cannot really kill Oro considering that you can just bring him back in a clone form through someone's curse mark. Kabuto would have brought him back. Itachi wasn't capable of killing Oro or stopping him permanently at age 13. Itachi doesn't know Zabuza, don't really know why you randomly brought him up.

Itachi isn't our cookie-cutter good guy like Naruto is. He's just an antihero. He's also NOT Naruto. Hence, he has a different thought process.

You've stated numerous times prior to this thread that you absolutely hate Itachi.

Because he's an antihero, in a world of assasins. He prevented a greater disaster from occuring, he had good intentions in the end, he admitted his faults, that's all that's needed.

Also, if you go by Kishimoto's word...then Itachi is in fact a hero like Naruto, like Minato, like Kakashi, etc. And Kishimoto has also referred to the Akatsuki as a whole and Nagato as antiheroes. Why? Because the moral standard is so low in Naruto.

No one attempts to justify what he did. I cannot justify Naruto killing two people either. However, in fiction it's different. In their world, such crimes are not nearly as bad as in ours'. It's a story about killers. :/ Everyone works for the goal they believe is correct in the Naruverse, what truly distinguishes the bad guys from the good guys is their reasoning behind what they do what they do. And of course the end result.
