lol Itachi is a good dude. by the logic argued by ssj future trunks all ninja are bad then, not just itachi. Itachi did what he had to do. he followed orders. thats what ninja do. his character traits is what makes him good. the sacrifices he made. if you say he is bad your being a biased reader. its obvious kishimoto made him a good guy.

I agree. I don't quite understand why USSJ continues his obsession with Itachi though and continues to nitpick and make up fanfic about him in order to support his inadequate points. Don't understand why other haters do that either.

but if thats the truth then how come they universally revile orochimaru?
The things Orochimaru did were far more cruel and wicked than any other shinobi. Not only was he murdering others to disguise himself in their bodies but he was also holding others prisoner in his sound village to run dangerous experiments on them one that killed everyone except Yamato, manipulated children and placing curse marks on them most of which who died from recieving them, since Orochimaru said that it was only a 10% chance that Sasuke could survive. No shinobi has ever done these disgusting acts.

Well maybe one sentence later....
dumbass villains are not inherently bad. never said that.
sometimes they are funny/interesting.
The things Orochimaru did were far more cruel and wicked than any other shinobi.
irrelevant. you said "oh hes a ninja so its ok to lie and kill".
either ninjas are hypocrites for hating people who do the same thing or ninjas are nicer than you think.
Because Orochimaru has no good intentions. He just wants to learn all the jutsu in the world so he can live forever. That helps no one except himself. Which is why he is universally despised.
good intentions are irrelevant. madara and obito do too and they were universally fought against. what matters is methods.

r. His intentions were for Sasuke to live. For Sasuke to grow up to be strong. For Sasuke to have friends in the end and be a hero in the village.
no he didnt. his intentions were to shatter sasukes mind and break him so he could answer to konoha and knooha alone. he couldnt accept it if sasuke wandered off and protected some other place. thats why the KA plan was "protect konoha' to force sasuke to be konohas slave against his will. not anywhere else. itachi couldnt give less of a shit about anywhere else.
his intentions were to use sasuke as a weapon, and make him strong at the cost of his sanity and compassion.
for sasuke to be called a hero undeservedly and based on a lie. thats why he was sick and dying and let sasuke kill him.because sauske cant be a hero based on EFFORT OR EARNING IT. of course not. itachi had to lie to the entire world and make sasuke seem like something he obviously isnt and rob sasuke of earning his way back into the fold. this gives sasuke the message that he can be handed things and be worshipped for killing criminals despite his previous actions.
the obvious conclusion is knoha would not think that and would just execute sasuke if he ever came back.

Itachi isn't our cookie-cutter good guy like Naruto is. He's just an antihero.
no hes a brutal insane manipulative mindrapist who tried to kill kakashi

He wanted to protect Konoha from destruction and did
no he didnt. he ensured its destruction when he handed bijuus to akatsuki. point blank. akatsuki gets bijus = everyone dies, including konoha. thats basic logical and deductive reasoning.
he ensured konohas destruction when he did nothing to stop orochimaru (whom you admit was an iredeemable mass murderer) or danzo.
. If Itachi attempted to attack the Akatsuki members, considering that he had a fatal illness and terrible stamina, he'd end up dead against all of them and fail in that way
if itachi had spent years planning and setting traps, like anyone intelligent would have, then he woldnt need brute force to kil akatsukis. sasori and konan could do a heap of damage with enough prep so why cant itachi
. Itachi doesn't know Zabuza, don't really know why you randomly brought him up.
kakashi knew who he was on sight. zabuza was a world famous missing nin.
. Itachi didn't know anything about Oro other than the fact he was a missing-nin during their first encounter. Also, you cannot really kill Oro considering that you can just bring him back in a clone form through someone's curse mark.
oro cant just rez himself. if you kill the main body hes done. likely permanently.
itachi knew everything about orochimaru, given he was captain of anbu and one of the trusted men of higher ups like hiruzen.
of course he knew the whole thing about how oro killed and experimented on people then was forced to leave when he got caught, and how he wanted revenge for not being picked hokage. ibiki knew all this.
and if he didnt then itachi should have made it his damn business to know. his whole trade as a spy is information.
Itachi wasn't capable of killing Oro or stopping him permanently at age 13.
he completely dominated him in their fight. he could have lopped off oro's head but chose to do his arm. he could have tortured him and captured hi but chose to use a weak genjutsu.
he doesnt have to kill him. just drag him back to nagato and say "hey boss this guy cant be trusted. kill him"
You've stated numerous times prior to this thread that you absolutely hate Itachi.
i hate the fact hes not accepted asthe villain he is. as a villain hes fairly ok. as a "hero" i absolutely despise him for kishi lying to us like that.

Also, if you go by Kishimoto's word...then Itachi is in fact a hero
i honestly dont care.
just because a writer is portraying someone as the hero doesnt mean they are. and its not the first time a writer has done this.
read this

one example is eragon from inheritance. sure hes SHOWN as the hero but he also mindraped a guy, murdered a boy who couldnt fight back, and other atrocities. when a hero should be above that sort of thing.
imagine if the writer of the stories of superboy prime said "superboy primes the hero" just because hes superman.
i imagine no one would agree and would dismiss this as shit writing.

if naruto decided one day that he was gonna massacre 1000 innocent kids, and the characters/writer either acted liek nothing happened or that naruto was in the right, then thats the "designated hero" trope.
you cant call someone a hero after doing the things itachi has done and expect me to agree or think its well written.
so yeah why on earth would i go by the word of the writer when his visual storytelling speaks so much louder? when itachi violently tortured two kids?

No one attempts to justify what he did
yes they do. by saying hes a hero/anti hero, YOUR justifying it.
. It's a story about killers. :/ Everyone works for the goal they believe is correct in the Naruverse, what truly distinguishes the bad guys from the good guys is their reasoning behind what they do what they do. And of course the end result.
its a story about a blonde hero fighting the chain of hatred and wanting to change it and bring about global peace. true peace, not brainwashing.
one of the marks of being a good or bad person is not your reasoning but rather how you react to certain things.
sakura, a hero, does something bad, intentionally or not, and decides to agonise over it in horror and remorse.
thats how we know we should root for her.
itachi did something bad and reacted with cold unfeeling stone faced indifference. even though he had no real reason to keep up the "facade". a pained look would be acceptable, or a later confession of "i shouldnt have gone that far" to kisame.
i know plenty of villains who are pained and regretful of their actions the whole time but are villains because their methods are, are unacceptably bad.
according to you, i can torture, beat, psychologically humiliate mock and break a small child and plunge them into a life of hatred and misery, and youll be like "AWW WHAT AN ANTI HERO" because itachi tried to justify it with "it will make him stronger lol". we are expected to think itachis an anti hero because he thinks he can rationalise/justify his crimes, and because of a sympathetic childhood. but what he didnt realise is the rationalisation was a delusion so he didnt have to feel guilt or shame for torturing kakashi.
Itachi is a good dude. by the logic argued by ssj future trunks all ninja are bad then, not just itachi. Itachi did what he had to do.
not all ninjas violently torture children, manipulate and lie to the world, commit genocide, and join a terrorist organisation thats collecting nukes.
itachi did waht he felt he wanted to do to maximise the pain and suffering of others and start a world war.
he followed orders.
itachi was not following orders for 90% of his life.
he wasnt following orders when he tortured sasuke twice. he wasnt following any orders when he plotted to let danzo get away with everything. he wasnt following any kind of logic, reasoning, morality or orders when he let oro live.
also is that really your justification? i guess nazis are fluffy bunnies then because they followed orders.
itachi showed multiple times he is willing to lie to, extort, betray and attack konoha ninjas to get what he wants.
his character traits is what makes him good. the sacrifices he made
his actions are what make him evil. the innocents he attacked and tortured. the innocents dying as a result of his stupidity and selfishness. the sacrifices he made to get sasuke stronger, which included putting innocents in the firing line. character traits? ok lets list some.
hes manipulative, decietful, ambitious enough to betray an entire nation, cold, stone faced, genocidal, has no empathy for anyone or anything outside konoha, a liar, a ruthless and savage mindrapist, a brutal fighter who slowly beat his brother into a coma while whispering how much sasuke was weak and worthless.
thats some traits for you.
if you say he is bad your being a biased reader. its obvious kishimoto made him a good guy.
if you say hes good, then your a biased reader.its obvious kishimoto wrote in him doing iredeemably evil and brutal things because hes evil and brutal.
what good guy tortures someone for several days and makes them watch their parents die.
ill wait.
just post below. which good guy in fiction do you know, did this and got it portrayed in a positive manner by the writer.

Look at all this ****ing Itachi fanboys.

This is why this place ****ing annoys me. Rationality and logic has no place here and you act as if Itachi is a good guy.
Look Kishi killed Itachi (the second time) as a GOOD guy with an emotional ending. You can't say that he's still a evil psychopath if it ignores his death (second time.)

USSJ Future Trunks, you are truly something else. I'm not sure whether it is just blatant hatred, whether it comes from your own philosophies on life, or you are just so deeply rooted in your own initial opinions that you are somehow in denial, but your opinion on Itachi has not changed even the slightest bit since I joined this website, and you continue to make and defend your thread-long arguments about your opinion on Itachi. I have never seen anything like it...

-You've stated repeatedly that you hate Itachi before. Don't deny it.
-A ninja works for their goal. That's all there is to it and they all do that. Try not to be so selective.
-Madara/Obito don't exactly have good intentions, even if they claim that. They want to throw everyone into genjutsu and hide from reality literally. Then control everyone themselves. That's not good.
-No. It was "protect Konoha" because he knew that Sasuke may want to destroy it at one point possibly, so the KA would work against that. Also, KA doesn't affect your memories, emotions, nothing except the goal. So still the same Sasuke just with a different goal in mind. Don't exaggerate.
-Only way for Sasuke to look like a hero at the time, Sasuke had to redeem his clan, Itachi wanted to pay for his sin, very reasonable.
-Sasuke wasn't executed when he ditched because Naruto said no to Tsunade when she said that Anbu/Root were supposed to be sent after him. He wouldn't be executed for killing 3 Akatsuki members and people in Konoha actually were shown to be calling Sasuke a hero prior to the kage summit event.
-He didn't even capture a single bijuu
-He couldn't kill Orochimaru
-He was in no position to kill Danzo
-Sasori and Konan failed hard. Worst possible examples.
-Konan spent alot of time with Obito due to him talking to Nagato and calling the shots...Obito stayed away from Itachi and there were only two confirmed times that they were withing the vicinity of each other in the manga, while sealing. :/
-Still not confirmed to know Zabuza, nor is Zabuza any of his concern. It's impossible for him to go after every missing-nin, especially when he doesn't know that. Nor is that in any way related to him
-It's called Kabuto. Kabuto could bring Orochimaru back, doesn't matter if the main body is gone or not.
-The Anbu at the time Itachi was a part of the organization didn't know a thing about Oro. In fact, Oro was in Akatsuki at the time and that wasn't revealed to Itachi until he found Obito...so Itachi didn't learn a thing about Oro/Akatsuki from the Anbu
-No one in the Naruverse has massacred 1000 innocent kids for no reason. Worst possible example.
-No, it's not his business to know what every missing-nin in the world is up to.
-He only hurt Sasuke and Sasuke got stronger as a result and at the moment has obtained EMS and a sharinnegan. An antihero is an individual who has done bad things, but is doing it to protect something or something to stay safe. That's Itachi.
-Everyone in Akatsuki is looked at as a ruthless killer. How would Kisame act if he saw Itachi showing remorse? Being an antihero does not have any qualifications such as crying about things like Sakura. Itachi also learned to stop showing outward emotion in Anbu. It doesn't mean that he doesn't regret things if he doesn't cry about it.
-Sasuke's not complaining. He got stronger both physically and mentally. He is now the second or tied for first most powerful shinobi that is currently alive in this manga alive with Naruto. Itachi apologized in the end as well. It worked out, it wasn't pretty. But what Itachi did was understandable and in a way worth it.
-He never attacked or tortured innocents.
-The way that Itachi has been portrayed by Kishimoto, as an antihero, is primarily acceptable due to the type of series Itachi is in. It's a story about shinobi where the moral standards are already at an all-time low.

Of course he is not,he slaughtered his own kin.
Thats disturbing.
You're absolutely right...oh wait, no you're not.
His entire clan was going to be eliminated by Konoha in the resulting conflict after they would cause damage. They were betraying their own home because they didn't feel like negotiating with the most lenient hokage. Whether he raised his hand against them or not is irrelevant, they were done either way. He maintained the clan's honor and innocence, saved 1000s, and saved a member. That's what a good person does in a situation like that. At least he had the maturity to want to pay for that sin as well. U_U

-Madara/Obito don't exactly have good intentions, even if they claim that. They want to throw everyone into genjutsu and hide from reality literally. Then control everyone themselves. That's not good.
then the same is true for itachi. he claims good intentions when all he really wants to do is lie and manipulate people into accepting what he wants them to know and think.
he controls people by lying and manipulating just as he did to hide the facts of his clan's coup.

-No. It was "protect Konoha" because he knew that Sasuke may want to destroy it at one point possibly, so the KA would work against that. Also, KA doesn't affect your memories, emotions, nothing except the goal. So still the same Sasuke just with a different goal in mind. Don't exaggerate.
sasuke has no reason to bear any grudge toward it unless someone tells him they were behind the massacre, which he thinks no one but elders and himself know about.
KA is complete control over someone as many peope stated, its just that they dont know they are being influenced.
itachi showed he couldnt give less of a fuk about anywhere except konoha and wanted to expose everywhere except konoha to sasukes madness.
-Only way for Sasuke to look like a hero at the time, Sasuke had to redeem his clan, Itachi wanted to pay for his sin, very reasonable.
itachi pays for his sin by turning himself in and accepting the lawful punishment. not forcing a confused emo kid to kill him.
and how was it the only way for him to be a hero?
sasuke was ALREADY a hero until itachi fuked him up with torture. all itachi had to do was leave well enough alone and not go near him.
-Sasuke wasn't executed when he ditched because Naruto said no to Tsunade when she said that Anbu/Root were supposed to be sent after him. He wouldn't be executed for killing 3 Akatsuki members and people in Konoha actually were shown to be calling Sasuke a hero prior to the kage summit event.
exactly. the reason sasuke wasnt executed is because itachi didnt know tsunade would return and be a benevolent ruler. any other kage would kill him straight away. but no he wants to corrupt sasuke anyway.
he would indeed be executed but not fort he reasons you said. he would be executed
no one in kooha of importance or rank said that. danzo sentenced him to die literally as soon as he got in power. and had tsunade not taken power, hiruzens replacement would have killed sauske years ago, regardless of narutos wishes.
tsunade would have had to force her hand if sasuke did anything that would render him hated by the village completely, such as killing a konoha ninja or causing an internationla incident. which he nearly did at VOTE. at that point do you think fodders would be like "lol hes a hero"?
sai voiced what everyone was thinking at the time. sasuke was a power hungry ass hole, who joined oro. do you think, if that was a total lie, that naruto wouldnt smack him silly long before sakura did?
your confusing konoha with nice people. they are not forgiving at all and the second sasuke is out of line more than he already was, he'd have an army after him.
hed already be in jail if it werent for oro cripling konohas military power.

-He didn't even capture a single bijuu
-He couldn't kill Orochimaru
yes he did. do you think if he failed a solo mission, he would still be in the organisation?
failing to get naruto merely means that akatsuki will send someone else.
he could have and still failed to kill orochimaru.
-Sasori and Konan failed hard. Worst possible examples.
sasori and konan had no real reason to prepare for anything except make more puppets, and konan only died because of one small miscalculation regarding izanagi. had she known she would have delayed their battle/destroyed the rinnegan.

-Konan spent alot of time with Obito due to him talking to Nagato and calling the shots...Obito stayed away from Itachi and there were only two confirmed times that they were withing the vicinity of each other in the manga, while sealing. :/
false. itachi was a member of obitos organisation so they were around alot, evne if its holograms and even if itachi didnt notice.
he would have had to have been following itachi around to know as much as he did about him.
obito, not itachi, made it his business to know everything he could about allies and enemies with zetsus aid. itachi made it his business to sit around and do nothing.
till not confirmed to know Zabuza, nor is Zabuza any of his concern. It's impossible for him to go after every missing-nin, especially when he doesn't know that.
it should have been impossible to go running after naruto and sasuke and making them fight him those times. the fact he could means he has alotted time to go and do whatever fukin shit he wants when not ordered to find bijuus.
he could have used that time hunting threats to konoha.
instead he used it to do useless crap like letting threats kill HIM.
HOW IS ZABUZA NOT HIS CONCERN? you just went on a rant about how konoha is his beloved home and he would commit genocide to protect it. but capturing and defeating people that arent his clan is now suddenly impossible?
or is it that he simply doesnt care about innocent lives dying every day to evil superpowered criminals.
tell me, what in the long run saves lives. hunting down evil thugs and deterring others, or sitting around "spying" on akatsuki?
It's called Kabuto.
its called killing few to save the many and doing his duty as a konoha ninja. you would think that destroying the sound after their previous actions would be a top priority. if kabutos out there, obviously hes another target to deal with. lest he become a major threat. instead itachi decides vigilante killings arent his style but sipping tea and sitting around is.

-The Anbu at the time Itachi was a part of the organization didn't know a thing about Oro. In fact, Oro was in Akatsuki at the time and that wasn't revealed to Itachi until he found Obito...so Itachi didn't learn a thing about Oro/Akatsuki from the Anbu
this is a complete lie. everyone knew everything about orochimaru just as everyone knew everything about itachi.
orochimaru was a famous hero who got turned down for hokage, and then exposed as a sick mad scientist who fled the village, vowing revenge.
anyone with a bingo book handy would know who he was instantly. and itachi probably grew up hearing about the evilness of oro.
the only known missing nin from an entire nation? your saying the anbu captain knew nothing of him?
No one in the Naruverse has massacred 1000 innocent kids for no reason.
i didnt say for no reason. but people have done this. konoha massacred thousands of children in their bloody wars against the other nations, which used the rain as a battleground. you think that no one died in the crossfire? hell nagatos DOG got blown away by a stray bomb and you think kids didnt?
orochimaru slaughtered hundreds of babies with hashirama cell experiments.
what i am saying is this: is it justified and noble just because the pepetrator rationalised it? or is it just as evil as anything else.
if a bad act can be avoided and done differently, its usually the wise move to not do it.
-No, it's not his business to know what every missing-nin in the world is up to.
as an anbu captain and secret akatsuki spy, yes it is. its his business to know everything akatsuki might have its claws in, including potential recruitment selection.
people bray and whine about sakura. "zomg if shes so great why did neji die on her watch".
so i get when things are just impossible for a character to do. but itachi was hyped as smart too much for me to let any mistake or oversight go ignored.
and yes not keeping a close eye on every powerful ninja is a huge oversight as a supposed spy.
He only hurt Sasuke and Sasuke got stronger as a result a
he brutalised and beat sasuke into a coma. sasuke got stronger because he turned evil and lost his compassion and sanity.
itachi created a monster that now could not be stopped and was inevitably a second madara.
. An antihero is an individual who has done bad things, but is doing it to protect something or something to stay safe.
wrong. an anti hero is a hero who has a particular flaw or abrasive personality, and does semi questionable things

itachis a knight templar. itachi commits horrible unspeakable war crimes that devastate many innocent people, and horific torture because he rationalises it as all for the greater good when it actually is just making things worse and in his zealotry, thinks konoha can never do anything wrong, and basically forces sasuke to go back there.

only reason he realised he fuked up was sasuke turning his attentions on konoha. had sasuke been dragged back to knoha in chains i bet itachi would have said "yay job well done" and continued his path of lies and torture.
you sweetening itachi doesnt make him an anti hero, just someone who fans like to lie about ot make himself look better.

-Everyone in Akatsuki is looked at as a ruthless killer. How would Kisame act if he saw Itachi showing remorse? Being an antihero does not have any qualifications such as crying about things like Sakura. Itachi also learned to stop showing outward emotion in Anbu. It doesn't mean that he doesn't regret things if he doesn't cry about it.
kisame LITERALLY wouldnt give two licks of a fuk if he saw itachi tensing up/weeping after a mission.
he would just be like "ah...seems you still like your old village huh" and then walk away to go kill something.
and yes it does. itachi is a ruthless sociopath who can do the absolute worst brutality while cruelly mocking and manipilating a scared terrified child in agonising pain and NOT CARE. wanna know why he didnt care? because he rationalised it in his head that its all to "make sasuke stronger". and only true madmen have that kind of zealot-like delusion.
nagato tensed up alot and showed alot of high emotion and he was the leader.
this is classic excuses and making shit up.
"he cared but he chose not to show it". thats shit storytelling and contradicts his actions. if he cared he wouldnt have committed the crime. and if he did but chose to do it anyway, then he would have broken that mask and showed some kind of regret.
his stone faced expression as he beat down sasuke, probably even UNNERVED kisame in the hotel

Whether he raised his hand against them or not is irrelevant, they were done either way. He maintained the clan's honor and innocence, saved 1000s, and saved a member. That's what a good person does in a situation like that. At least he had the maturity to want to pay for that sin as well.
he committed genocide. and the fact you said a good person butchers their family and commits genocide is absolutely horrifying. so according to you hitlers a good person because he killed the allied soldiers trying to kill his army.and yes its a good example because he was acting in preservation just as itachi was.
he maintained the clan's honor? wrong. the honor is gone either way. he just lied and made peopel think it had been maintained. which is not the same as ACTUALLY maintianing it. he lied and manipulated a city and showed absolutely no trust in his own people, to make himself feel better about a few hundred dead people. good people dont do that. good people are honest for the right reasons. if its a harvey dent situation and revealing the truth releases hundreds of prisoners then sure. but as it is..theres no reason to cover it up except to delude himself into thinking they werent gonna rebel.
he saved nothing given they were gonna be dead either way as you said above.
he didnt save a member. he tortured sasuke to madness and beat him into a coma. not saving, just condemning to a life of suffering and pain. which again is not what "good people" do.

-Sasuke's not complaining. He got stronger both physically and mentally. He is now the second or tied for first most powerful shinobi that is currently alive in this manga alive with Naruto. Itachi apologized in the end as well. It worked out, it wasn't pretty. But what Itachi did was understandable and in a way worth it.
sasuke is still massively psychologically hurt and damaged/arrogant/pompous. previously he was a globally hated psychopath terrorist plotting the extermination of a country.
he only got closure because itachi had the goddamn common sense to say "im sorry i fuked up". which basically jogged him out if it partly but hashirama explaining why he and the hokages did it is also why he decided to help.
but im sorry, ten minutes of redemption doesnt mean 10 years of selfish douchebaggery is forgiven. and in sasukes case 3 years.
it didnt work out. sasuke is still a global terrorist with a laundry list of crimes. people are only deeming to work with him because its that or everyone dies.

what itachi did was the single most sadistic horrific act of evil brutality in the entire manga and in a way, cements him as the worst villain in the series and the most evil. no one was as cruel or as brutal to a single young child anywhere else. no one tortured another person for as long as itachi did.

so how is it understandable and worth it? worth it in that he created a monster who was moments away from decidding to exterminate konoah and become worse than madara morality wise?
hell he was already worse. madara has his reasons. sasuke was going to kill everyone out of spite of them being happier than him.
that is what itachis manipulations created.
you call permanently mentally shattering sasuke and fuking his life up worth it?
when itachi was moments away from watching his brother kill thousands of people, from his little spot in hell?

-The way that Itachi has been portrayed by Kishimoto, as an antihero, is primarily acceptable due to the type of series Itachi is in. It's a story about shinobi where the moral standards are already at an all-time low.
the way itachi has chosen to act, which is of a massively psychopathic terrorist and violent mindrapist, is despised in the world itachis in and the reason why people much less evil than him got exiled/hated. people get hated simply because they house someone evil insdie them (jinchurikis). ninja world is far more moral than you are saying it is.
naruto is just one of a long line of heroic people who havent tortured children anywhere in their lives.

Look Kishi killed Itachi (the second time) as a GOOD guy with an emotional ending. You can't say that he's still a evil psychopath if it ignores his death (second time.)
right so ten minutes of sloppy redemption means ten years of evil crimes is now whitewashed and irrelevant?

irrelevant. you said "oh hes a ninja so its ok to lie and kill".
either ninjas are hypocrites for hating people who do the same thing or ninjas are nicer than you think.
Orochimaru wasn't doing the same thing. Ninjas use deception to kill enemies who pose a threat to their home. Orochimaru took JOY in murdering and experimenting on not only adults but CHILDREN and BABIES for power. Shinobi were also loyal to their teammates. Orochimaru disposed of his students like they were garbage. He even used Zaku and Kin as sacrfices for the Edo Tensei.

What an extreme level of arrogance. He was so sure in himself that there was no other way, that he decided to act upon it and not even give the Uchiha's a chance. And what kind of person considers "killing family members" as a possibility. There were no boundaries within Itachi's mind -- he was a true psychopath.

Special thanks to Future Trunks. There is a glimmer of hope on these forums.

That's a fanmade image. Hiruzen already said he tried to reason with the Uchihas, obviously it didn't work. You wouldn't kill your brother if he was a threat to your home and knew that if you didn't innocent people were going to die?

You clearly don't know what a psychopath is, because for one a psychopath can't feel empathy or remorse for their actions. Itachi was crying and shaking when he had to kill his mother and father. A psychopath can't cry.

then the same is true for itachi. he claims good intentions when all he really wants to do is lie and manipulate people into accepting what he wants them to know and think.
he controls people by lying and manipulating just as he did to hide the facts of his clan's coup.

sasuke has no reason to bear any grudge toward it unless someone tells him they were behind the massacre, which he thinks no one but elders and himself know about.
KA is complete control over someone as many peope stated, its just that they dont know they are being influenced.
itachi showed he couldnt give less of a fuk about anywhere except konoha and wanted to expose everywhere except konoha to sasukes madness.

itachi pays for his sin by turning himself in and accepting the lawful punishment. not forcing a confused emo kid to kill him.
and how was it the only way for him to be a hero?
sasuke was ALREADY a hero until itachi fuked him up with torture. all itachi had to do was leave well enough alone and not go near him.

exactly. the reason sasuke wasnt executed is because itachi didnt know tsunade would return and be a benevolent ruler. any other kage would kill him straight away. but no he wants to corrupt sasuke anyway.
he would indeed be executed but not fort he reasons you said. he would be executed
no one in kooha of importance or rank said that. danzo sentenced him to die literally as soon as he got in power. and had tsunade not taken power, hiruzens replacement would have killed sauske years ago, regardless of narutos wishes.
tsunade would have had to force her hand if sasuke did anything that would render him hated by the village completely, such as killing a konoha ninja or causing an internationla incident. which he nearly did at VOTE. at that point do you think fodders would be like "lol hes a hero"?
sai voiced what everyone was thinking at the time. sasuke was a power hungry ass hole, who joined oro. do you think, if that was a total lie, that naruto wouldnt smack him silly long before sakura did?
your confusing konoha with nice people. they are not forgiving at all and the second sasuke is out of line more than he already was, he'd have an army after him.
hed already be in jail if it werent for oro cripling konohas military power.

yes he did. do you think if he failed a solo mission, he would still be in the organisation?
failing to get naruto merely means that akatsuki will send someone else.
he could have and still failed to kill orochimaru.

sasori and konan had no real reason to prepare for anything except make more puppets, and konan only died because of one small miscalculation regarding izanagi. had she known she would have delayed their battle/destroyed the rinnegan.

-With Itachi the end result is reasonable and good, so no he's not like Madara or Obito
-He wanted to destroy it the moment he heard the truth. If he heard it earlier, he would have though the same from an earlier age
-Itachi didn't want Sasuke to destroy the entire world bar Konoha
-The fact remains that once people heard of Sasuke killing Orochimaru, Deidara, and Itachi people in Konoha stated that they thought he was a hero, he should get medals, and a team
-Going to prison doesn't bring honor to a clan, closure to a team, nor does it do anything truly more positive than what Itachi did
-Hiruzen also liked Naruto and would in effect listen to him. So, no even if Tsunade never took over, same result
-People in Konoha are average. Same as everywhere else in that world
-Kabuto was a medic-nin at the time that not many even knew about. He wasn't considered truly a threat at the time
-The Sound wasn't even revealed to be created by Orochimaru until they attacked the village. So in effect, you're stating that Itachi should go and destroy random villages he knows nothing about. Wonderful standard for a hero there.
-Orochimaru has never been a hero and Tsunade stated that even as a child, he seemed sadistic.
-Still. No one person was sent to go and specifically target and kill 1000 babies for fun.
-We don't know what info he gave to Hiruzen and how much intel Itachi knew about Akatsuki
-I like Sakura and don't complain about her. It wasn't her fault at all that Neji died, lol
-Sasuke now does want to protect Konoha due to Itachi's/Hashirama's tnj
-No he wouldn't have
-No, not a Knight templar. Antihero for this story about shinobi
-He pointed out once that Itachi was crying in the rain and that is was weird. It would make him suspicious. I don't think you understand the various parallels, bonds, and relationships between individuals and organizations in the story
-Massacre is never justified in any case, truly. However, given Itachi's circumstance and the fact that shinobi kill on a day-to-day basis, it is understandable. Especially the fact that they were going to be eliminated whether he raised their hand against them or not
-Honor is maintained in the eye's of the general public
-Sasuke is still alive. Member saved. u_u
-It was 8 years. Itachi left Konoha as a 13 year old and died at age 21.
-Orochimaru has done much worse
-Sasuke doesn't view what Itachi did to him as inherently evil, he understands why he did it, and it did better him to an extent, whether you choose to admit that or not.

Just the face that you had to being a fanart and couldn't bring forth anything from the manga to prove that Itachi was a psychopath further weakens your argument. I mean, come on. At least attempt to bring in a fanart that hasn't been discredited by the manga. xD

That's because there was no other way. The Uchiha didn't want to negotiate and wanted to risk their own safety by attempting a coup when they knew that they were being spied upon 24/7 and would have no element of surprise. They were ignorant and didn't want to negotiate with the most lenient hokage. Just because you, OP, think that Itachi should have let his entire clan lose their honor and cause destruction in order to take over the establishment, while all dying in the end and having a civil war in which 1000s die is a sane & ethically sound option whereas Itachi would disagree with you (as would I xD) does not mean he is a psychopath. There are no boundaries in your mind, you have a username "CutDeep" and a knife with a threat as your sig...I'm sorry to say this. You fit the qualifications of a psychopath. ;) (No, jk. I don't think you are u_u)

Yes, there is a glimmer of hope when your alt account agrees with you. xD

ot: Itachi did do alot of bad things. He had good intentions. Not a cookie-cutter good guy, but he's not as malevolent as Hidan either. Definitely not a saint though. He's just a shinobi at the end of the day who followed orders.

It is a depiction of what occurred. It's just like how Leonardo DaVinci wasn't there for the last supper of Jesus Christ, but he did paint what it may have looked like.

Itachi admitted there were other possible solutions that he didn't accept in part to his arrogance.

That is true, psychopaths don't feel empathy.

Just going to throw this out there, but the literal translation from the raws equates to "And any unknowing child", then later on in the chapter we see Danzo bring up Sasuke. That seemed more like a throwback to him than anyone else.

But regardless, it was still a sin. But at least he showed remorse for it while committing the crime and apologized as an Edo, while admitting his faults later on.
