Zabuza has the upper-hand when facing Itachi if they battled right now. Why you might ask? Well, Itachi said the Hidden Mist would not fool him, but that goes against the manga, and the anime.

1.) Itachi has no counter for the Hidden Mist Technique. That means he cannot use genjutsu on his opponent because he cannot see his opponent. Kakashi only lived against Zabuza because Kakashi's ninken could sniff him out. They are sensory summons to an extent.

2.) Itachi has no sensory skills that I know of. He has no summons that have sensory skills that I know of. Counter that. He wouldn't be able to lay a finger on Zabuza.

3.) You Itachi fanboys always say, "Well, (Insert any name) has no counter for his Susano'o, overpowered shield, and overpowered sword. Well guess what? Itachi never starts a battle out in Susano'o. This is not edo Itachi we are talking about either, so he does have limited chakra.

4.) He has no counter to the Silent Killing Technique. That hole in Zabuza's sword, is ment for de-capitating. Itachi wouldn't be able to just magicly summon Susano'o in the alloted amount of time it would take Zabuza to kill him.

Please someone counter how Itachi see's through the mist, how he can counter Zabuza's sword, and if he can even see through the mist? Do not say he will just go in Susano'o, because the manga is proof he never goes Susano'o in the begining of a fight.

Amaterasu burns through anythng, even fire itself. It stand to reason that amaterasu burns through mist.

Itachi does not need to see Zabuza to cast him into a Genjutsu. Even without that Uchiha grand fireball tech would blow away the mist

The bigger question is this: can Zabuza live long enough to complete his Hidden Mist Technique. Itachi very well may finish him before there's enough mist to protect Zabuza and disable Itachi.

Are... Are you saying that Zabuza > Itachi? Wooooow...
1. Itachi's speed is on a whole new league above Zabuza's, he could simply leave the mist, or just dodge Zabuza's blade attacks.
Plus, Itachi's Sharingan is far better than Kakashi's at that time. He could more than likely see through the mist...
I can't even finish this so: Tsukuyomi to the face.

:sy: :sy: :sy: If Itachi is going up against a guy with a giant sword, who is famous for assassination. who has just used his mist and can't find him, he would obviously use his Ribcage to protect himself. When Zabuza tries to slash through his Ribcage Susanoo, its hand grabs him and smashes him. You saying otherwise is just you trying to get out of countering an argument, cut the BS.

Not to mention he can finish him off BEFORE he ever gets a chance to use that jutsu. One look at Itachi's finger means GG Zabuza.

Zabuza gets stomped. Failed thread.

This is a reasonable counter. It really depends on where it is at, and how far apart they are.

It is not getting stomped if Itachi has to use Susano'o rib-cage. He has never shown in any fight, that he starts in Susano'o, or goes Susano'o the first 10 secs of a fight. Show me a scan of when he does this.

You have somewhat of a point. However, many scenarios that determine victory.

well that doesn't prove anything if he doesn't use it in the fight you are right but itachi will use it when he need it

anyway nice work rep + for the effort

Haha, yeah, I try to be logical! Bias/fanboy-ism is unfortunate...

Personally, I think Itachi could still win, due to fire techniques blowing away mist, and the fact that if caught in such a scenario, he'd activate a Susanoo, even if just the ribcage, to protect him from un-forseen attacks. BUt eventually, through enough scenarios, I can see Zabuza winning. Just not usually. Generally, Itachi > Zabuza. But if conditions are right, Zabuza may be able to win once or twice. I mean, Water > Fire, and Hidden Mist Technique > Sharingan.

Now only if Zabuza could combine with Mei...

He's saying that if he's caught in the mist of a famous assassin, he'll use his best defense. If he really can't see in the mist, which I seriously doubt.
What about Hashirama? He can't see in the mist, is Zabuza > Hashirama? Naruto? Minato? Orochimaru? Jiraiya? Tsunade? I still can't believe you made this thread.

Yeah why not? Itachi cant counter everything but I still think he is superior though.

Those hardcore Itachi fans are going to call him a Genius and say he will find away out of everything LMAO that's all I see from them when Itachi clearly cant counter something

Zabuza dies before casting the mist.

Lets assume that he manages to cast the mist=

1. He cant kill Itachi, Itachi is one of the fastest characters in the narutoverse. He even blocked lightning..Zabuza´s speed is nothing against that.
2. Itach is an Uchiha, many fire techniques in his arsenal. The heat of the flames would push the mist away, we even already saw this in the anime (but forgot when it happened).
3. Crow and explosive clones.
4. Zabuza needs to come in close to kill him, enough for Itachi to put him into his place (or Genjutsu).

Zabuza´s job is finished long ago, he was part of the original series. Powerlevels increased massively since that time.

Amaterasu burns through anythng, even fire itself. It stand to reason that amaterasu burns through mist.
The same mist that will surround Itachi??
If that's even possible, which I doubt,if he fires amaterasu to the mist he will burn too.

I am sorry but Zabuza has nothing on Itachi.
On their first fight with Kakashi,Kakashi didn't use his ninkens. He could sense and see Zabuza but couldn't use the sharingan to his full extent meaning he read his moves that good and couldn't react fast enough. He was able to keep up with Zabuza though and defeat him, both times.Plus Kakashi had to protect the others too so his job was harder.
Now let me remind you that part1 Kakashi was weaker than Itachi.Even Kakashi himself said after the chunin exams that he is out of shape.Plus he also said when he fought Zabuza that he didn't had a serious fight for a long time and again he was out of shape.
Now Zabuza lost, easily I would say, to part1 Kakashi who was out of shape. He couldn't possibly match up with Itachi.

You almost made a good point, but it was actually your own points that backfired on you. As you said, we've never seen Itachi start a fight with Susanoo or use a Susanoo in the first 10 seconds. But, to your same point, we've never seen Zabuza use his mist jutsu and go straight for the kill. So if history is your agrument as to why Itachi wouldn't use Susanoo right away, then history is my argument as to why Zabuza wouldn't use his mist jutsu and try and kill Itachi right away. And since we do know that eventually Itachi will pull out Susanoo, that means that if Zabuza doesn't try to take him down before he realizes he's at a disadvantage, he'll end up allowing Itachi all the time he needs to use Susanoo. Check and Mate

thank you logic he does not want itachi to use his head and use susanoo off the bat to protect himself from something he cannot see
