It's true that reading that way, it seems they were talking about Naruto, but logically speaking it would make no sense that a part1 Naruto who couldn't even use Kyubi's power was stronger than Itachi and Kisame. It's for that reason i still believe they were talking about Jiraya

Woah!, I never thought about Itachi and Kisame talking about Naruto instead of Jiraiya. But Itachis dialogue isn't like he is talking about a Tailed-Beast mainly because He is using him (I dunno japanese but that's what Im assuming). Besides, Itachi was somewhat humble so I hardly think he would be talking like he could solo the nine-tails. Finally, if he was talking about kyuubi, why would there be a fight when he has MS and thus the ability to control Kyuubi (I think).

I agree the Hype is weak but only because Itachi did not actually want a confrontation with Jiraiya because he was a double agent, not because they are talking about Naruto IMO.

That was part of their duty, each pair was sent of to collect jinki. So I really doubt that was the case as well. Kismae himself knew actually what to do when dealing with Naruto's cloak and was even willing to face the 8-tails alone.

Jiraiya = Kisame

Itachi =/> Orochimaru & Tsunade.

ET is a battle changer however, and depending on which ET is implied (Part 1, or Part 2) one can argue that the outcome can still very much vary for each team.

I feel as if Kisame (in a SM Jiraiya scenario) used Samehada to absorb SM's natural energy, Samehada would turn into stone; leaving Kisame weaponless, and at a clear disadvantage.

Itachi on the other hand is quite versatile, being able to seal ET pawns, and possessing such proficiency within Genjutsu.. Close match indeed.

Itachi thought that mastering Kyubi's power was impossible when he saw Naruto during this war, so he shouldn't even have thought that a small kid could be capable to do that

But what happens when Naruto in general is pushed to extreme causalities? An Enraged Kyuubi surfaces, take that into generalization, and I believe you will convert your beliefs to Naruto instead of Jiraiya.. You cannot deny the power of an Enraged Kyuubi.

Part1 Naruto was pretty enraged when he thought Sasuke is dead or when he fought Sasuke ( Vote).

Very true. But Sasuke was really nothing compared to Itachi and/or Kisame at that point in time, as well Naruto was fighting a companion not something he truly disliked or was an enemy.. Imagine Itachi/Kisame nearly killing Naruto, or causing multiple fatalities etc. I believe Kyuubi would take over (similar to Naruto vs Orochimaru), that would pose a problem to any shinobi.

Well Itachi can oneshot part1 Naruto with simple finger genjutsu. So the scenario you imagined is highly unlikely.

Except Kisame is the best Akamen for capture since he can capture Jinchuriki alive without even wounding them

To an extent, but don't forget that Samehada could rather quickly remove the chakra that begins to form. Whether more would arise, or if Naruto would be calmed down is another thing to consider. But Kisame could realistically handle a rampaging Naruto up until a certain point.

I'd say if it's anything less then the Eight tails; Kisame could rid Itachi and himself of this threat.

Indeed both proposals are true. However, I don't think you guys are getting the general concept. The pressuring of two senior shinobi would cause the Kyuubi to take hold of Naruto's conscious, being in control. This as I stated previously would cause anyone trouble or causalities in the least.

People always seem to over look that in a fight where Edo Tensei is unrestricted. Just because he has it doesn't mean he can use it. Sacrifices are required.
