Is the ninja headband meant to mimic the sages brow?

Look at these two images and you'll see that not only does Madara's headband provide Madara with horns that mimic the sage, but the headband itself creates a shape that is very similar to the sage's brow.

Did the ninja headband begin as a way to mimic the image of the sage? Specifically, did early followers or adjacent generations create the headband tradition to make themselves look like the sage in addition to attempting to be like him? Did this purpose of the headband get lost over time? Clearly, even if the normal headband has no relation, Madara's is obviously made to make him look like the sage. I'm curious as to people's thoughts on this.

No, It was a sign of their respective orientations.
Like religion in real life.
Obviously its meant to pay respect to your village, but I'm proposing that the ORIGINAL purpose was to make people look more like the sage. Think of it as an act of paying respect, they wanted to mimic him. Obviously later on it would be altered to respect their village, but hopefully you get my point now.

lmao thats crazy man how da hell did u reach that?
When you look at the images I post, don't you think Madara's headband makes him look like the sage? Its all based on that, the sages brow protrudes similarly to a ninja headband.

I doubt it was meant to pay homage to the sage.
If anything its meant to pay respect to Ashura and was adopted by the village systems after they realized it was an easy way to represent the village.

It's a nice parallel you've found and hypothesis you've made, but these aren't just headbands to mimic someone's looks, they are forehead protectors made and worn to defend against head shots, stabs and slashes.

I think the hidden leaf symbol does have hidden meaning relative to the Sage's third eye and the Juubi. The fact that its called the "leaf" village speaks volumes. I almost made a thread about it also.

The headbands are there because Kishi was too lazy to keep drawing Naruto's googles so the headband was an easy out. seriously he said this.

OT: Headbands were introduced when the first village was created about 150 years ago, I don't think Hashi had knowledge of the sage...

Yes, but that's the modern purpose for the headbands. Isn't it possible that they were originally made as a way to look more like the sage? It would be a way to honor him essentially. Later on, the meaning and design could have changed to match the modern society.

We don't know anything about the generations between Hashirama and Ashura. Yes the modern version of the headband is not that old, but perhaps that modern version derived from a more basic version that had a different purpose/ meaning.

Well as Much as I hate to debunk myself, Hashirama was familiar with Rinnei Tensei and could use the god gate. I'd say its safe to say he had access to some of Hagoromo's history and jutsus. He was Ashura's heir after all that led the Senju and Ashura was Hagoromo's heir.

Exactly that. And like I said before, just because the modern headband originated with Hashirama and the first village system, that does not mean that there were variations of it previously. The meaning and purposes of the headband itself could have changed with time.
