Come on ..... you must have read about Razia Sultan - She made Yakut, an Abyssinian slave, in-charge of the stables, a post which was seen reserved for Arab people only...she ended up losing her life and crown... In my school course Siddis had like one line mention - that the Mughals ignored the seas and left it to Siddis resulting in losing control over seas and making it easier for Europeans later on... Nothing more was mentioned about who they were or how they came to be in India. There are some coastal regions of Gujrat and some other states where their line still has a small presence.
