I think that was more comedic relief than him being stupid. I think kishimoto wants to incorporate that in Naruto's character even if he grows up. I wouldn't take that scene too seriously.

You can use that excuse for everything that has happened in the manga -_- pretty much everything that happens leads to something else. That doesn't mean we discard what's been said.

he's not book smart, and he can be a little bit of an air head sometimes. but he has shown on multiple occasions that he is not stupid. he is very good instincts and thinks outside the box.

He is not smart. Hes just a knuckle head brute with tons of power and uses it rapid and wildly on anyone he fights. There is no skill in his fighting, just overwhelming menace.

Hard to say. He's definitely good at forming strategies from Intel that was given to him. So in that aspect I guess he's smart. But he's also had a lot of dumb moments too, he even admitted he is stupid.

Stupid moments are stupid moments in my eyes, the amount of times other people in the manga have called Naruto stupid and idiot are too many to count. I'm not gonna label all those moments as comic relief, meaning they don't count because they do count.

Naruto is stupid at times, actually more times than most. While minato has a stupid/silly aspect about him. Tobirama got annoyed at Naruto for calling the shadow clone jutsu his own, it was a comic relief movement - doesn't mean Tobirama wasn't annoyed or that he didn't invent the jutsu.

Naruto can be forgetful sometimes and also finds it hard to understand overly complicated things its just a part of his character. I think thats why Shikamaru wanted to become his advisor when Naruto becomes Hokage. Hes too much of a dummy to run a whole village by himself so Shikamaru (who is a genius) can help him out w/ things sorta like how Shizune does for Tsunade and Tobirama did for Hashi.

Minato is sorta different Tobirama just thought his jutsu name was silly that doesnt make him unintelligent though. Just a lil ridiculous I guess.

It's a shonen thing. The main character is often silly, goofy and acts dumb, but they certainly not.

How can you say a character is not really stupid because it's only comic relief/because it's shonen??? That makes no sense, stupid is stupid, especially that moron luffy, everyone one that knows one piece knows how stupid Luffy is.

I'm not saying Naruto is stupid all the time because he has his clever moments but he's been portrayed as an idiot and that will never change.
